Campaign is my favorite style. I live in Turkiye and you can't find it here. I eat my heart out when I watch your videos. Another beauty. I hope you kept it.
Divine! The finish you used makes that walnut look good enough to eat! I love campaign furniture. My mom preferred the asian-flavored variety (e.g., Bernhardt set you recently revived), but campaign style is what largely furnished our house. I view it as timeless and classic. Thank you for sharing this!❤
Wow, what a find! Veneer repair was so good, gotta order that kit. Definitely want to try that stripper also, I heard it works on a lot of older finishes. Love your drawer liner tips, and the brass touch up tips.
You did that piece justice! I wish I would have seen your veneer repair kit and painting class several weeks ago. My attempt is pathetic but the top coat is now on so it’s a done deal….live and learn! Appreciate all the tips including that stripper( I’ve never heard of )and that paint kit. You rock. Thanks!
Great job, the result is perfect. At first I thought you were going to paint it! You have some interesting methods and uses of different products. The veneer patch was interesting and it came out great.
This was truly an amazing makeover. I have at least 20 or so of these campaign style dressers in my storage building. I stopped doing furniture because I moved to Georgia, and people tried to lowball me for my furniture. I buy them every time I travel and find them. I love love campaign furniture 😍. Finally, someone else loves them as much as I do .
Wonderful job! I have so many pieces of furniture that if I were younger, I'd attempt the refinishing. I have a 60's or 70's campaign set from Thomasville that is very similar to this piece. I bought it to use when I was remodeling my kitchen. My daughter has most of the pieces and I'm sure they are not as perfect as they were. Enjoy your work and appreciate knowing how to do this. I bought a very beautiful piece of mid-century modern in the late 80's that my daughter uses in her living room that desperately needs help!
I had this campaign chest in the late 70s along with a matching cabinet with two doors and one shelf inside. I don't know the brand but my mom got it for a steal she said, and she knows quality furniture. Yours turned out beautiful!
I got inspired and started sanding paint off a mirror. It took forever and my arms are killing me! You make it look so easy but I know that’s hard work 😅 and the dresser came out beautifully!
What a stunner🤩 You did such a great job!! I’m also on learning curve with veneer repair blending-you really did such a good job! I finally splurged and got the Mohawk markers recently, I think you’ll really like them if you decide to try them out. You just put a little sealer on top of each colour, and it’s ready for your next application in mins.
Thank you! No, they were fine. I just like adding liners. Funny thing is that liners are usually the one element everyone comments on that they like. I can spend hours stripping, sanding and refinishing and the first comment when they see it in person is that they love the liner. Go figure. 😅
Hi Lisa. Love this piece. I have a Drexel piece and I was going to only restain the top and rest I was going to paint it black. Is this a bad idea? Should I restain the whole piece?
@ it’s the Drexel buffet server on wheel. It has a top that isn’t a waterfall but the rest is. I wish I could show you a picture but I can’t add a picture. I do appreciate all your help.
Thank you! No, not yet. I listed it a week ago. Lots of saves, but no serious buyers. I live in a mid market, so that’s kinda high for here, but I’m considering listing on Etsy to increase my reach.
Really stressed me out when you didn't wipe the drips off the sides when you spread the product on the top 😅. I'm sure you got it later but my anxiety was so weird!
OMG! Okay this is the brand of the piece I need to refinish! Mine is a server…same campaign style. Where do you find replacement pulls? One of the door pulls has broken. ☹️ Ok gonna go watch you do your thang…😉
Pulls can be tricky to find. I’ve found original hardware replacements on eBay, but they are pricey. Sometimes you can find reproductions in the dimensions you need and replace all of them. This piece had all the original hardware.
@@ivylane-home I started searching and couldn’t find the pull in a vertical. And in searching the maker, my server/rolling bar cart has not come up yet. The pulls I did find were pricey & if it was the right one I would’ve bought just because I’m keeping the piece. It was my mom’s & she had pretty good taste. 😎
I don’t line every piece, but the funny thing is when I do line them my buyers LOVE it! It can be a $1000+ piece and the first thing they comment on is the liner. Go figure.
you really should leave the origenal stain as much as possible ! it will increase the value ! Other wise its hard to tell if the item is new or antique or vintage! Even though your pieces turn out beautiful! just sayin ....
ok if thats what they want! i guess that is a diffrence between our countries! here it's if you touch the finish they want to know when how long ago who did it! how old the piece is so you need to research it! very picky! esp. if it comes from new England! i'm in Ohio! @@ivylane-home

It’s my favorite too!! I actually sold it, but I’ve kept a few others ☺️
You did a beautiful job. So refreshing to see something valuable restored to its former glory.
Thank you! It was definitely worth a restoration 🤩

Oh yeah, I agree! That walnut is SO good! Your mom had fabulous taste!
She will love hearing that!❤
I love it!!! You did such a great job!!!!
Aw, thanks Kim!
Wow, what a beauty! Nice work!
Thank you! 🤩
Wow, what a find! Veneer repair was so good, gotta order that kit. Definitely want to try that stripper also, I heard it works on a lot of older finishes. Love your drawer liner tips, and the brass touch up tips.
Thanks so much, Heidi!! I’m definitely still honing my skills on veneer repair, but it gets better each time.

Love, love, love it!
Thanks so much!! 🤩
You did a good job with the veneer shading. Beautiful piece of furniture
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼
Great job, the result is perfect. At first I thought you were going to paint it! You have some interesting methods and uses of different products. The veneer patch was interesting and it came out great.
Oh gosh, no, I wouldn't paint it! I'm really trying to hone my refinishing skills as I progress. I love wood finishes.

It’s one of my favorite styles! 🫶 I took a poll recently and found out some people actually didn’t like the style…what?! 🤯

Thank you! Refinishing isn’t hard, just several small steps layered on each other. It’s totally doable!
Excellent job on that veneer! It's a really beautiful piece! 😊
Thank you very much! It was lovely.
yes yes yes yes,, I just love it, great job, you made it wonderful.
Thank you so much!

I don't know the brand but my mom got it for a steal she said, and she knows quality furniture.
Yours turned out beautiful!
It’s such fabulous quality furniture!
Thanks so much for the veneer repair and blending. It’s a class I think all furniture restoration people need to have.
It definitely opens up so many more options!
That is absolutely gorgeous 😊
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful piece of furniture. Great job.
Thank you very much!
Wow! Gorgeous restoration.
Thank you very much! 🤩
You hit the jack pot finding this piece. You did a great job restoring it. I like the drawers left wood done with Howard’s feed and wax.
Thank you very much! I do that sometimes too. Funny thing is…my buyers LOVE the liners. That will be the one thing they comment on. Go figure. 🤷♀️
It came out gorgeous.
Thank you!
Beautiful job!
Congratulations!🌷🌷
Thank you! 😊
Beautifully done!!
Thank you so much!
Absolutely love it!!
Glad you like it! 😊
Just found your channel and I applaud all your hard work I think it looks beautiful, I'm going to binge watch your other projects xx
Aw, thank you! And welcome! 🙌🏼
Beautiful work! Love it! ❤
Thank you! 😊
I love this style of furniture. What a great find, and such a nice outcome!
Thanks Scott! I love this style too!
Details work is amazing ❤
Thank you so much 😀
Great job ❤
Thank you! 😄
Love it ❤
Thank you! 🤩
Nice job!
Thanks so much!
Gorgeous job! Love the wood grain it's stunning! Everything about this piece is beautiful! Awesome video! 😊❤
Thank you very much! 🤩
I got inspired and started sanding paint off a mirror. It took forever and my arms are killing me! You make it look so easy but I know that’s hard work 😅 and the dresser came out beautifully!
Ha! I feel ya. 🤣 When I first started this, I discovered sore muscles I never realized I had. It is definitely hard work. 🫠 Keep going, you can do it!
Soooo Gorgeous! I flipped a Campaign dresser a few years back learning as I go-- but my work wasn't near as good as yours!
I get better with each flip!
What a stunner🤩 You did such a great job!! I’m also on learning curve with veneer repair blending-you really did such a good job! Wow, it looks fabulous! Excellent job. We're the bottoms of the drawers really in nasty shape that liners would be needed? Fabulous!
I’ve seen it both ways. It’s trickier with a waterfall type top that flows into the sides though. You would just have to tape off and be careful. 😊🙌🏼
@ it’s the Drexel buffet server on wheel. It has a top that isn’t a waterfall but the rest is. I wish I could show you a picture but I can’t add a picture. I do appreciate all your help.

Beautiful!!! Were you able to get any 'bites' for the price point you selected?
Thank you! No, not yet. I listed it a week ago. Lots of saves, but no serious buyers. I live in a mid market, so that’s kinda high for here, but I’m considering listing on Etsy to increase my reach.
Gorgeous piece. What kind of wood was it?
Thank you! It’s walnut
Really stressed me out when you didn't wipe the drips off the sides when you spread the product on the top 😅. I'm sure you got it later but my anxiety was so weird!
Bahaha, so funny! It actually bothered me when I was editing and saw that. 😅 Yes, I did that side next and smoothed it all out.
Me, too. 😅
❤
Thank you!

Why do you line the drawers? The wood in the drawers was lovely. All it needed was a little wax. A potential buyer may not like the lining.

Well, since I’m selling it most buyers want it refinished in a more modern color. 🤷♀️
