Wonderful job!!! I love the tone of the top, it truly makes the piece shine. When you first sprayed the grey color, I thought, oh thats so so dark. However, once the top was finished, it really lightened up the color and warmed the piece❤❤❤. I'm always in awe of your skills😊😊
Excellent as usual! I bought those glue syringes and the drawer pull jig, and they work so well. Another youtuber made a wood "conditioner" for staining with less blotchiness. It is basically 1 T wood glue, 1 T water based polyurethane, and 12 oz of water mixed thoroughly and painted on. It dries quickly and made the oil based stain go on very well. Try it on a practice board.
Outstanding job! You had challenges that you were able to overcome and that is a win! Plus you learned valueable lessons too so can’t beat that win either. Over all it looks stellar and anyone would be thrilled to have it in their home. Great job, I learned a lot!!
I agree. Would have really made the piece pop. Very nice though, lots of work and very stunning at end. Too bad it couldn't retain the natural blonde - I'm a sucker for mid-century blonde furniture.
Well, the half rounds were lined up with the curved base and the hardware holes were in the middle of the diamonds. I’m not sure how I would have lined them up without moving the base and compromising the stability of the dresser. I do see your point though. I guess that’s just how it was designed. 🤷♀️
It is beautiful. I love your tutorials. So very informative. What a time you had with that top! But you (as always) persevered . It’s nice to hear some options if that streaking happens….. I appreciate your videos. Thank you.
Doncha hate it when someone someone attempts a clumsy repair with nails?! It's funny: I'm dealing with an Empire sewing table and the flame mahogany veneer is popping off the curved base in pieces. I was wondering how to handle it--pop it all off and paint, or attempt to reassemble the veneer. Then I found this video...I don't know why it never occurred to me to use painters tape to anchor the veneer chips whole the glue dries. Getting old, I guess! I really like how you gave this furniture a second chance. And thank you for showing me what I needed to know!
Did you mark the drawers to know which one came out of which slot? I have had what happened to you on the bottom drawers and it was just because I didn't mark which one went where. I swapped places and wa la , they closed. Not always the problem but always a quick way to fix if it is. Loved the way it turned out!
Another upscale piece ~ woohoo, you are doing so well! ~ and becoming even better! Really enjoy your videos ~ please keep them coming, as your works brings inspiration and motivation ~ thank you!
Did you try switching the two bottom drawers? Although they look like they’re the same size, I’ve had that happen before because I had the wrong drawer in the wrong place.
I love your flips but oh my goodness the way you apply the drawer liner is 😰😰!! Total anxiety! Lol! Nevertheless you've done a beautiful job as always ❤ also just a quick question- does acetone need to be 'neutralized'? I've never used it but I have been having an issue getting all the stripper off even with the included neutralizer (I use the greenez combo) and thorough cleaning
Really?! I find it completely easy with no measuring or math. 😅 No, from what I’ve read acetone does not need to be neutralized and is an excellent cleaner because it evaporates quickly and doesn’t leave an oily residue. Here is a great article on acetone: www.woodshopnews.com/columns-blogs/acetone-can-be-an-all-around-solution
It does look nice but there were a lot of things you did that made me literally cringe. Although there is more than one way to skin a cat (so to speak) some of the steps were not the way I would have tackled them. Especially the overspray. Simple enough to cover the piece to begin with rather than try and go back to clean up the mess made with the overspray. In addition, i would have tried to blend the blemishes on the top using paint repair markers instead of throwing an entire kitchen sink at it trying to fix the mistake. Overall, it does look nice. Just personal preference in the way it was refurbished.
The diamond pattern sold it for me. Once again, impressive to see how much work you put into this piece.
This was a good one! 🤩🙌🏼
The top is good. Color good. Hardware good. All together, it's really nice.
Thank you! I'm glad you like it!
I hope you get full price, girl; you earned it!
Aw, thanks Charlene!

Thanks Michelle! This was a tricky one. 😊
You made this unique dresser into a classy beauty! I think your after is a definite improvement on the original.
Thank you so much!
Great job! It’s beautiful.

Thanks Heidi! The syringes are the best! I’ve never of that combo. Not sure if the water would play nice with the oil 🤷♀️
Wow, looks beautiful! I love that your videos are so informative! Awesome job! 😊❤
Aw, thanks Pam!
Gorgeous!

I love it!! ❤
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼
I love it too 😍
Aw, thank you!
Love the top and color combo, hardware too. Very nice.
Thanks so much!
I love it. I would've matched the two vertical half rounds and legs to the top but I'm weird so... 👍🏼 Great job!

I’m wasn’t a fan of this particular blonde finish, but I love the Heywood Wakefield finish. 🤩
Wow, we gave the dresser away a few months ago and I have the cedar chest in my shed.
You could refinish it 😊
beautiful!
Thank you!

Thanks Lisa! Some of my projects really go sideways. 🙁

My pleasure! Good luck with your piece!
Really stunning. Don’t see anything like that here in the UK.
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼
Absolutely magnificent

Thank you! On this one I knew which drawer was which because of the design, but yes, I do try to label my drawers because I've had that happen too!
You fighting that one nail is just the perfect metaphor for furniture flipping. It's always that one little thing! Good job on this piece!
Oh, so true! Thank you!
Another upscale piece ~ woohoo, you are doing so well! ~ and becoming even better! Really enjoy your videos ~ please keep them coming, as your works brings inspiration and motivation ~ thank you!
Gorgeous! With these older dressers, do you ever do lead tests on the old finishes?
Thank you! Yes, I do.
Tow straps would work if you dont have the right size clamps. They have a ratcheting mechanism that tightens really well.
I don’t have those either, but that’s a good idea! 😊
You put a lot of work into this piece. Sorry to say that I don't care for the gray paint color but believe there are many more who will.
Thanks Donna! Well, if no one likes it I can also paint it black 😅🖤
Did you try switching the two bottom drawers? Although they look like they’re the same size, I’ve had that happen before because I had the wrong drawer in the wrong place.
No, the half rounds moldings were tapered to show which drawer was the bottom one, but I have had that happen!
@@ivylane-home Oh gotcha! I didn’t notice that. You did a great job on the piece!
It’s beautiful and you did a great job! Love it! ❤
Thank you so much! Marilyn!
Ok... don't laugh but I like the hardware!!
I love the original. I wish I had all of them. I kept it though and I’ll use it on another project. The new was a good MCM alternative.
Where did u buy your glue syringes from?
I got these on Amazon, but they're not available there anymore. I have seen similar ones at Woodcraft and on the Rockler website.
👍
Thank you!

Ty Lisa!
@@liveforeternity my pleasure!

🤩🙌🏼
You do awesome work and I love the finishd piece. Except for the bottom! It just doesn't work for me.
Thanks! Ha, gotcha 😊
❤❤
Thanks Dorothy!
I was sad to see another piece of furniture painted
I try to save what I can. 🙌🏼

Yes, this is more of a ‘learn with me’ channel. I’m not an expert, but I’m learn something new on each piece. 😊
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Great job 😊
Thanks! 😊
