Dremel Max is a good tool for sawing hard surfaces. I have used it when repairing bathroom floor tile areas. In fact, your obsession over slope reminds me of my tile project, and turns out, my floor was more perfectly level than the pro job I was fixing! Go us!! My husband has been talking about creating a paver patio at the storage area under the deck. I'm sure he will like this product, and I'm sharing this video with him. When he and I team up on a project, the kids always feel obligated to joke: how many engineers does it take to change a light bulb?

The moment the compressed wood/veneer top was revealed - I was inspired with the idea to replace the top with double the depth solid wood to create a two sided desk. Removal of center. Extending both sides with drawers to open from both sides.

A personal thing: My knee jerk reaction to compressed wood in furniture making is Disgust - Yuch! Blech!

For the trim you needed a very sharp Stanley knife. The kind you use to score the skin of pork for the crackling. Blades also come in different sharpness. Just be careful not to cut yourself. Go firm but slow.

When spreading the glue, you should use a rower. It spreads the glue a lot better and more evenly.

I wish I was 20 years younger. I’d love to be able to do this work. I always thought I’d be gardening and painting chairs and refinishing furniture in my retirement. Hasn’t worked out that way. I remember my mom used to do this. How satisfying!

I think most put stripper on and cover with saran wrap so stripper doesn't dry out before working.
