      Always thought that part was weird. "I feel more female", well you're not female, so you don't know what that feels like, so how do you "feel female"? Kids used to feel "more male" and that just meant they didn't like dresses and didn't like drama. Now it's irreversible hormone therapy. Yikes.

      They mean feel more masculine without the ideal of acting like such. I feel male. I feel that my body was meant for that or meant to be that but didn't. I feel like I am to be called a man, addressed as such, etc. It feels right.
      Gender is flexible and trying to define "female" and "male" is irrational but I put definitions to them due to my upbringing and social experiences. And he/him to addressed to a set of people that I can see myself as, more than the group for she/her. I feel more comfortable.
      I hope this helps give more perspective since it is kind of hard to explain.

    As a trans person this kinda makes me mad at trans people and also the so called professionals who clearly did not test this person properly for gender dysphoria. GD is not just disliking your sex characteristics, it’s also a very strong desire to have the opposite sex characteristics, and to be perceived by others as the opposite sex.

    • @watchonjar
      @watchonjar 2 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      @@mooael3796 puberty blockers are apart of the problem to. Firstly you don't just resume puberty after coming off them, you loose what ever development you may have had, fuck up the rest and we also don't know the long term effects on a developing mind. But also we need to be real about this, psychological analysis is at its core reliant that the person you are analysing being able to accurately understand themselves, at least in this scenario. So putting an already highly suggestable person, as this woman demonstrated, on drugs and telling them it will fix their body image issues isn't going to increase their clarity in how they report their feelings to their doctor.
      Another issue with PB is that they don't even really do their job. For example, If you are a boy who goes on PB, you might not become more masculine, but all your friends will and so in relation you already are going to see yourself as more feminine. Its the same the other way as well, plenty of teenage girls who don't develop breasts while they are younger feel less feminine because of it, therefore PB will induce the same feelings. So it doesnt really stop anything, in and off itself it is transitioning, which means that it is a suggesting force in a kids mind.
      Finally lets just look at the numbers, almost all these kids are going on these things younger and younger transition, if is that not a bright red flag that they are suggesting something to the kids idk what is. Also when you look the kids that dont they almost all come out as gay and loose their feelings of gender dysphoria.

    I think a lot of what is happening is people of both groups (cis and trans) are conflating hating your gender with feeling like the opposite gender. The two are not the same. I'm so glad I'm not having to go through puberty in these times. I hated my body so much for its "betrayal" during puberty and still struggle severely with this although from a less childish perspective. Good luck to anyone having to navigate these issues today

      I don't think it's as black and white. The counterpart is that if you don't transition in time there's a very high likelihood that the person will kill themselves before they're even an adult. It's a complicated and tragic situation, I wouldn't fully blame the parents or the doctors by any stretch of the imagination. The nuances in how she felt are especially difficult to capture at such a young age. Maybe the decisions were too rushed, but then again, if they weren't rushed and she ended up committing suicide we would be having a very different conversation. We should work to find better solutions, putting the blame on specific people in complicated scenarios won't help.

      To be fair, Destiny AND the guest both said that, if they were parents, and all the mental health experts told them that their kid would die if the parents postponed or denied their dysphoria-reversing treatment, it’s a very rough decision to make in the moment

    • @Shadowh8ter
      @Shadowh8ter 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@Sprite_525 Yeah it's the fault of doctors, not the parents. It should be difficult and rigorous if possible at all for a child to be able to start the processes for transitioning. There should be a without a shadow of a doubt belief the child is truly transgender and they aren't simply confused or uncomfortable with their body.
      The constant acceptance of kids going through life altering surgeries otherwise they might kill themselves later is a massively copout argument nobody should accept or go along with. That maybe could have been an argument a decade or two ago when transgenderism wasn't accepted and widely pushed and promoted in mainstream society but now it is, and the rates at which children are identifying as anything other than cis has blown up massively, we are not in a situation where we can just take the words of children on whether or not they should permanently alter their body for the rest of their lives.
      But yeah if anyone wants to blame anyone its the medical professionals. How it's not mainstream to go through a tough trial to determine whether a child is truly transgender or not is depressing to say the least.

      @sed4512 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@squideww I appreciate you trying to add some nuance to the situation, but it seems very clear the doctors misdiagnosed her. Mother gender even says the result of those doctors “treatments” has “ruined her life. Transitioning isn’t something you can fully undo and neither is puberty but it’s to easier to transition later then detransition. I also think there’s a higher likelihood that somebody can be happier transitioning in adult life than detransitioning at that same age as well. Being put on life altering drugs and medications should not be taken lightly. It’s better to prevent these type of detransitioning stories from happening for than maybe catch gender dysphoria early. I agree that gender dysphoria needs more support from the medical system but not like this.

      Imagine the young boys now going through what we all go through but instead of having a society that helps affirm what we are, nowadays they have a society that's simply confusing them more. Who wants to be a man when you're " an evil white man responsible for all the world's ills" and who wants to be a woman when "you're never gonna get ahead in life because of the evil patriarchy"?
      Gender and their roles are all being confused, obfuscated, lied about, and ignored. The perks that each gender enjoyed have been thrown to the wayside, making gender a nearly meaningless thing beyond perhaps sexual encounters. Even straight men will sleep with other men if they simply look woman enough.

    Hi there, trans masc person. I spent years on waiting for whether I should transition in more permanent ways or not. In my experience, my friends always validated me that I can transition however I want and it doesn't have to be permanent. I do have good friends though and it's really annoying that nobody helped this person, as being 23 and being near their age, it feels like I had a different experience for my friends.
    However, the online trans community WOULD probably not be the same as my friends. Always do what's comfortable and not just what's acceptable. It took me this long and now I'm a month into testosterone.

    • @justinebpheartss
      @justinebpheartss หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@NoName-ym5zj Hey, thanks for wondering. I'm still on testosterone lol and now set up for two surgeries for more alignment, especially due to the fact that I prefer to not have a workable womb. As for remarks on the "online trans community", I believe that there's a difference from your average Facebook support group and chronically online children that learned to dox people over really questionable reasons. I prefer to not take my chances as I am not your average queer who is heavily left leaning, communist-associated, and cool with violence against people who have differing opinions of mine.
      I think the best way to not stray away from your true feelings as being transgender and to still keep community, is to go touch grass or at least stick to more surface-level online communities. The biggest concern is that I knew former friends that end up in this extreme niche end by seeking validation and end up conforming into these specific boxes where their opinions seem distorted around "logical empathy" when it's really just being a pushover.
      This isn't just a "trans" thing, but it is something that affects it. It's another means of labeling being utilized as a conforming tool, even if not actively known. It still suppresses conversations that are needed to be had, like why is being gay fine but not being a p*do? (not equating the two, but it's an argument had over and over again). Allies and members need to be equipped to handle these conversations, because if nobody rebukes them, they will seek their own, really shitty opinion online. That's just how it is.
      I hope this gives a bit of a deeper perspective here. I've been trying to disconnect from social media more and more, but I've had people in person, say some really weird shit that doesn't align to reality. It affects all sides, but it's important to know *how* it affects the ones that are in your life.

    • @NoName-ym5zj
      @NoName-ym5zj หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@justinebpheartss nice to hear you are doing well! Aside from the womb thing what's the other surgery you want to do? If that's okay to ask ofc, I'm curious since I don't know much about FTM stuff.
      Yeah, I see what you're saying about online communities, it makes total sense. I have recently tried interacting with some trans communities on Reddit, reading about people's experiences to understand if what I am having could be gender dysphoria, this might sound dumb, but I live in Ukraine and the internet is the best place you can get a competent opinion on trans issues that won't devolve into "go pray it away in church" or "die f*ggot". So what I found was that everyone was super affirming, maybe even too much so, nobody was actually trying to help people figure out their feelings, they wanted only to affirm whatever it was they brought into the discussion as long as it fit with their views. I understand why it may seem helpful to them, but this unrestricted affirmation seems very toxic to me.
      Regardless, I am now 99% I am trans. I mean, I have been thinking about transitioning for like 12 years now, because I wasn't satisfied with my gender, pretty sure that means something ... Will attempt transition, no idea how It will go during the war, but hopefully I will figure something out.
      I wish you the best, friendo

    • @justinebpheartss
      @justinebpheartss 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@NoName-ym5zj I'm having top surgery and permanent birth control, since I know I want these things. Don't push for anything that you're not fully informed on and don't feel fully comfortable with, since HRT and gender affirming surgeries are permanent usually, or at least leave an impact, even if undone. There's nothing dumb in seeking validation and confirmation on what you're feeling, as most people do that with things like parenting, schooling, career choice, etc. I really do hope you're doing okay over there. I don't know the full situation as of now, as it's been on-going for a while, but a simple thing you could at least do is a name change. Social transitioning is usually the first step, can be reverted, and allows you to adjust accordingly.
      If you can't find anything in person for a trans community, I recommend straying away from MOGAI or more niche gender stuff for now. I indulge myself in that community since I am very firm in my beliefs and don't feel swayed by it and I always like to know what's going on, but until you feel confident in your identity, gender and the concepts around it, their beliefs could 100% skew you into a really weird and awkward direction. It did that to me when I was younger, but I touched some grass and came back. If you find communities that utilize a lot of extreme mental health integration in a very casual way (DID, hyper-manic people, schizophrenia, etc), I would avoid those too. They turn into weird, needless online drama of someone's Harry Potter character that's an alter (another person inside their body), upset that someone's manic state is having them post the color red, when red is their trigger. It's stupid, exhausting and you'll find zero comfort there.
      Otherwise, play it by ear. Take your time with things. Touch grass, meaning just don't get too stuck online, and ultimately, the best of luck in Ukraine. Please be safe x

You see, these people use learned social behaviours to suppress a woman's self-actualization. Nowadays these behaviours are present mostly in right-wingers which is why I referred to them specifically.
      On the topic of morality, its relative and norms are ever-changing. Look at it historically and you'll realise that it's constantly developing. Objective truth is valuable because it helps us build our understanding of science and help people better, which then, in turn, helps our whole species survive better and have a greater sense of wellbeing. If we were all clinging to moral ideals, we'd still be in the middle ages or worse, surely you know that back in the day any progressive ideas that would challenge the moral axioms of the holy book would be thrown out the window. Imagine how science and technology would have suffered if that continued to be the case.

    If anything, the main thing I've taken from this conversation is that its probably a good thing for the medical establishment to be cautious when minors come in claiming they are trans or have dysmorphia issues. I remember in my far lefty days I would've been crimson red at the idea that a 16 year old couldn't get HRT day one. I know this because I even used it as a point of argumentation that in a paper that I wrote. But its important to remember that these are huge, life-altering decisions and taking a little time to really nail down the issue might be the difference between a trans person properly being able to identify themselves after lots of introspection versus a potential detransitioner who, like many teens, just hates puberty.

      @crunchyman5330 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @silentsledge Okay, so maybe the medical board won't literally revoke the validity of the doctors' medical license, but the court of public opinion after the anger from activists would all but make that medical license useless if doctors could no longer get patients after bad publicity. *Baseline transgender occurrence had been predictable and constant for as long as we have been counting their existence* At least 70 years. *BUT THE LAST 10 YEARS TRANS IDENTITY HAS EXPLODED 4000%* Yes, 40X baseline. Nobody is addressing this, talking about this, and trans activism won't touch this stat. So what am I getting at? I'm saying that "1X" (or baseline) constant for 70+ years, indicates what I would refer to as 'innate naturally-occurring' gender dysphoric trans people. The real, rare unicorns that they always were. Always a specific proportion of the population, and even the LGBT population. That being said, I am saying the spike in the last 10 years, which we could call the new "39X" portion of the trans population - are essentially suspicious. Something is wrong. There is NO WAY, even with some super-duper social acceptance of a human phenomenon, that one could/would expect even a DOUBLING (2X) of an entire population. That would be as crazy as suddenly gay people doubling across only 10 years. Doubling an innate, naturally-occurring baseline, does not happen like that. Maybe across centuries or millennia? A doubling is a HUGE statistical move. But here we are dealing with an additional 39X population, in only 10 years. Think deeply about this, and the likely conclusion is not a good one - but what else is there to explain it? I propose that we are dealing with a social contagion. Worse still - even with a doubling (2X) of trans people in 10 years (let's say it's due to ALL trans people finally being able to 'come out') ... that still leaves the new "38X" ... which is still 95% of trans people right now. I am saying the VAST MAJORITY of current trans people in the last 10 years (yes, 95% of them, by my math) are not innately transgender. I believe they are confused, mentally-broken, socially-awkward, low-esteem, body-hating LGB youth - who have fallen into trans ideology as some kind of "rebirth" identity project for themselves. Meaning, they are going down a rabbit hole mentally, medically, and surgically toward something that is not only a mistake... but was chosen/learned. A social fad. A social contagion. A mental illusion, no different than Furries who believe they have a 'fursona' ... except treated as dead serious... not a fantasy. I truly believe this 95% will NOT be trans in 10, 20, 30 years - after the fad wears off, after growing up, after adult reality kicks in... none of these people are going to their caskets, buried as trans people at age 90. The de-transitioning will become staggering and horrific epidemics in 25+ years. Why alarm bells aren't ringing in the trans community, and why affirmation is so rampant, floors me. The "real" innate transgender people (the rare baseline that was always there) are now lost in a sea of identity-laden anti-normative counterculture people who believe they are trans. They suck up all the air in the room, hog all the healthcare services, create all the dogma, and dominate the dialogue. This is a social catastrophe, 95% imposter.

      @@SOSLICK22 I'm going to re-try posting the sources, one-by-one so I can make sure they are going public. If I see them disappearing (which usually means links are causing them to be put into Destiny's comment quarantine folder) I'll simply have to stop. So here goes the first one:
      The best public records come from the Tavistock Gender Clinic in the UK. Since it is run by the NHS (National Health Services), thus completely government funded by UK taxpayers - they don't keep their stats private. It's also a great example of a clinic because a) it's the only one in the UK, therefore it's "the only place all the trans people can go for gender healthcare" b) since it is NHS funded, there are no financial barriers for out-of-pocket spending, therefore it doesn't skew against people wanting care, but staying away because they cannot afford it.
      Here are the referral rates of 2010-2020:
      images.app.goo.gl/ZfpHBxKyyo6dq52G8
      What I called "baseline" was where things were at 2009 and prior. In other words, if the graph extended backward 30 years, it would be essentially "flat" at the 2009 levels, or even less.
      You can see what has happened in merely a decade. Most of the phenomenon is girls-seeking-to-be-boys. The UK is a good example of a western democratic nation, much like the USA. Although stats in the USA are scant, as every gender clinic is a private enterprise. However it is a fact that in 2007 there was only ONE gender clinic in the USA. Today there are well over 50. That is a 50X increase in facilities in only 15 years. Staggering. I'll move onto a Canadian example next, as most Canadian clinics are also government healthcare (thus public record).

    These poor kids need mental health support, not to be put under the knife or injected with hormones by people that only think they know whats best for them.
