- Alex's Mustang had hurt feelings after its loss to Andrew's Wife's Camaro SS Convertible. So what did he do? This. He got 3 simple mods to make close to 900 rwhp! Fuel System, Ngauge/Lund Tune, and the renown Hellion Turbo Systems SLEEPER turbo kit.

The hellion sleeper kit is a really nice kit. I had this on my 17 GT and made 1032hp with fore fuel system as well and E85 👌 I wish we had port injection on ZL1 hahaha.
You can get an intake manifold that allows you to run port fuel injection.
Road Pressence why have all that power and give it away especially a very Reliable Gen 2 motor 😳
D. Van Voris ran an 8.26 this past weekend, its the stock Coyote record, 2018 model, Single Turbo, no engine mods, TH400 Trans, Lund Tune, They make great power & respond to mods / forced induction very well!
ECS ran 8s with a stock LS9 C6 with their Supercharger, I used to run the old 5.0s and they were good,Ford has gotten their thing together now with the mod 302s! Reliability is questionable to me!
@@adambrooks2297 the gen 2 coyote is basically the boss 302 engine with different cams , 900-950 crank hp is about the limit before rods and pistons and as we all know detonation is the killer . 750-800rwp on E85 and you can beat the coyote to death on the daily . All in the tune , Van Voris is pushing 17lbs on that stock gen 3
18psi but he’s now building an engine for tang stang, but yes Gen 2 is the best one to boost
@@19gt92 Well, the Gen 3 is now the best one to boost since D. Van Voris has the "stock" coyote engine record which is a Gen 3 motor.
A record doesn't mean that’s the best engine to boost, it’s just someone willing to push the envelope

Okay, I like this video so much that I have watched it twice already.
One point that I disagree with though, is that Camaros with LS power have (or deserve ) a bad rep.
The primary reason why a Mustang is as good as it is, IS BECAUSE THE CAMARO IS AS GOOD AS IT IS.
I have been a car guy my whole life and I know that competition breeds excellence. My concern is that when the Camaro becomes history, the Mustang will become stagnant and mediocre. Please, please Camaro brothers and sisters, a public outcry saved the Mustang from becoming the Probe. For all that is holy, raise your voices and do the same for the Camaro!

Andrew knocks Mustang's but when the Camaro is discontinued yet again....the Mustang will still be around. Learn this platform to fill the Camaro void. Just a little 5 Liter man on stock platform. No need for piston, etc.
Should I buy a brand new 2021 mustang gt 10 speed for 36k and add a hellion sleeper kit for 800 horsepower in this video ? Or is their any other faster car I can build for the price that’s not a shitbox

Only that there are a lot of people including youtubers with low mile blown Coyote engines and that Ford is overwhelmed with it at the moment and will probably be in another class action lawsuit over it. Lmao you sound like a hater. The you tubers that blow there engines know very little about the coyote platform. Check out David van voris channel he has a stock gen3 coyote running 8.2. With the stock oil pump gears and sprocket, his car even has the infamous “tick” also check out Alejandro Flores. There’s a lot of misinformation out there but those 2 guys are legit

This is no surprise. The coyote has always shown to be very boost friendly and the Gen. 3 has just upped it a notch. (in some ways) Even if you back the boost down to a slightly safer level, you can still make more power to the tire (with boost) for alot less money than an LT1. And tuning them is significantly cheaper also, pending the route you choose. Hard to argue against the coyote. It is a fantastic engine. As a previous owner of an 18 5.0 A10 (also wht w/blk accent) I just wish they were as much fun to drive as the Camaro. No arguing their power potential but driving dynamics are something else altogether.
The potential and price is what made me jump ship to my 17 mustang. Used to be a diehard GM guy, but I got my mustang fully loaded, and brand new for $36k, $8k on a Whipple, probably another $3k in suspension and OPG's. So for $47k all in I have a 9 second capable 700whp fully loaded car. I comparison shopped for a while and to get a camaro to those specs would have been another $5-6k minimum.
You could have went with a Zl1
6th gen ZL1 used go for around 48k. Plus I would have needed another 5k in mods to hit 700whp and run 9's. If not more.

The LT1, aka the LS3, can't get past 650 rwhp without aforementioned pistons, rods etc. I know far to many guys/gals that blew their LS3's and new LT1's in the 620-640 rwhp range, myself included. So yes this is impressive.
08turboSS the LS3 can handle more than 650whp, heck I had my stock LS3 over 700whp and we have plenty over 800whp. The LT1 is a totally different animal and we normally don’t press them past 700whp

stopped at 870whp? These (the gen 3 coyote) have been known to make over 1000whp on a 100% stock sealed block. Far as i know, best time so far was an 8.2 1/4 on a stock coyote with a single turbo. Was making something like 1100whp. As always, the LS/LT fan boys falling behind and trying to keep up.

David van voris mustang is running 8.2s on a sealed coyote motor, it still has the stock oil pump gears...I would still recommend upgrading them but there’s a few gen2 and 3 coyotes in the 8s on the stock oil pump gears
That's a gamble I'd rather not take.
Turbos are more gentle on those gears than a supercharger. But their failure rate is just too high.
rlhay2 failure rate was high for gen1 cars probably due to it being a new platform and little information being out there. Even though the failure rate in gen2 and 3 cars is really low, I would still upgrade them especially if your going with a supercharger. My car with a centri makes most its power in 6000-8000rpm range so upgrading them is a must for my application since rpm is one of the main causes for failure.

If you guys start working on mustangs you will need a bigger shop. So much work and so few shops in the area to do it. Plus coming from a former GM fanboy the aftermarket support is like nothing I have ever seen for the mustang compared to the GM world.

Glad Andrew broke down & admitted that stock motor can handle more than a LT1 engine. In the long run it's what made me decide 2 go wit the mustang over the Corvette.
I don't BS. The Coyote engine is stout. Has to be the best bang for the buck new sports car to soup up. I'm still a GM guy.

But in all honesty you wanna go fast for cheaper the mustang is a bang for your buck, hard to beat almost 500hp for under 40 grand. But, I am A chevy guy and always have been, my family on the other hand have always owned ford broncos, gas and diesel trucks my dad had I think 31 model T drag truck sold it bought a gt350 one day he drove my procharged F-1X c7 and fell in love now he owns a c7 and had a F-1A installed. Never in A million years did I think he’d own A chevy hell in highschool I had a 98 s10 and I couldn’t park it on the property that’s how die hard ford guys my dad, pap and uncle were.

AutoGamesNation not really needed with a turbo car. Oil pump gears are usually needed when doing a supercharged application.
He can run low 8s on stock bottom end,others have with stock pump/gears
AutoGamesNation it’s not much of a issue with the gen3 coyotes, but he plans to add them in the future just for added security.
Not really as big a worry with Gen 3 especially on a turbo car. We will be doing them eventually along with valve springs and the clutches in the trans (whenever those tell me they aren’t happy lol)
If u put a 2 step in it or ride the limiter you better put opg/cs in it
