  • In todays video we're showing you the final stages of development for our production twin turbo c8 kit. This twin turbo setup for the c8 is mostly just the hot side. We are using an aftermarket intake manifold for the time being while we get our final intercooler setup made. Also we have a surprise guest, Emelia Hartford's Intake Manifold... it doesn't say much.
We're Going to CADILLAC ATTACK 2021 in January 28-30 in Orland Florida!

I think Emelia is a step ahead of ya seeing how she already has rods and pistons she is going to be able to run way more boost I bet she will be close to 900hp pretty easily and we all know factory engine isn't going to make that atleast not more than once probably lol

    @Complete Street Performance;
Certainly nice to see Your consciousness efforts, especially the custom fabricated parts.
Nice to see this video showing much of the fab and installation too.
Have viewed some videos from a few notable Speed-Performance shop here on YT (mostly) with a few on their website.
Am a trained, degreed engineer, who also is an auto/car/performance enthusiast with significant practical knowledge, experience, expertise, combined with mechanical/electrical/electronics design, assembly, installation, repair, troubleshooting.
Seem fairly clear, most of the shops have at best experienced mechanics, often within the scope of the engine, autos, they work on and with.
They will have some detailed information about common issues and such.
A benefit to using an approach more as a designer, especially looking at the entire system as a whole, will maximize performance within the aspects of risk, durability, ease of service, maintenance, reliability. Also, will be beneficial for choosing specific parts, manufacturers, or custom.
As a good example, there are several performance enhancement shops who have managed to modify a C8-LT2 with twin turbos including intercooler, modified exhaust, some attempts with partial ECU replacement (intention to achieve full ECU as for other vehicles & engines)
As seen with Amelia Hartford's C8-LT2, twin turbo, done by Pietz Performance, it produced so much HP & Torque, the ECU, controlling the DCT slipped intentionally to protect it. In addition, in a very short time of use, the engine internal parts were damaged [connecting rods bent, flywheel issues, etc.] As You know, Texas Speed rebuilt the LT2 with internal parts which are stronger, more capable of higher HP, Torque [forces & stress], thus able to handle the higher performance enhancements. They also added better capability for NO² and methanol. There still remains a complete ECU and limitations of DCT (also interrelated). Stronger axels may also be needed. The vehicle already has coil-over shocks upgrade, tires & wheels too.
My main points: If a basic level designer or mechanic would be involved in the overall system design, mechanics, modifications, many issues would be obvious, thus avoiding damage in very short to medium range and long range.
A racing vehicle needs less durability than a street vehicle, certainly, thus many modifications can be worth the risk, as long as the vehicle will be durable enough for the particular race, time format and needs.
Obviously the 24 hr. Le Mans has quite different format and needs compared with 600/500/200 mile race, Indy, F1, Stock car, Drag, etc.
Because of the approach used by every group seen thus far, would only work with a shop that has modification mechanics that either have sufficient knowledge and expertise of proper design, viewing, knowing, analysis, evaluation or willing to allow someone including myself to review the initial designs, implementation with proper mechanical, electrical, technical, and electronics (needed for ECU). It seems clearly obvious, especially from the results if C8-LT2 above, every twin turbo implementation will damage the engine. Some quicker than others. [Ex. if HP & Torque were limited to say HP < LT2 above, still will result in damage internally; whether 1/2/5/10 k miles. A proper mechanical analysis needs to he done, like GM engineers did. Also GM already has a twin turbocharged, OHC/V, 5.5L engine working and produced (& racing), planned for production release in 2022 model C8 [also a HP hybrid electric/combustion]. Clearly that engine is designed and built with stronger parts to handle the forces, stresses and have sufficient durability, reliability, longevity.
Back in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s the mechanical aspects were all what is necessary, and certainly easier for basic level mechanics to be involved in modifications and builds. However, the best racing teams had engineer(s) involved. As the engines, transmissions, vehicles became more developed technologically, so to the need for expertise increases. Additionally, with supercharged, turbocharged, fuel injection, EC, more sophisticated transmission, suspension, aerodynamic, fuels [methane (most race vehicles) & NO²], etc., more system analysis, evaluation, implementation and design are needed.
If someone with proper engineering were involved, the results will he significant, extensive, greater and potentially dramatic.
Imagine how much business one shop who has properly designed modifications will benefit from the results their customers receive, especially in durability, reliability with performance?
Maybe, one shop will influence another, then another to compete?
    Sincerely

Andrew, brother, absolutely love that polished Aluminum Intake & intercooler! Those welds are dreamy🥰😍😜.
I'm excited for your completion and cant wait to order my C8. I've gotta wait tho.
I'm coming out of retirement (medical 100% VA disability) to get a 3LZ C8 Z06 w/Z07 package in Elkhart Lake blue with Tension blue Interior. I heard from a insider that the Z06 may be a limited number run to keep the values up. Hope not, but if so then I'll be forced to TT the C8 Stingray.
How close are you from getting a standalone controller for the CPU/EMU or a company that you work with to hack it for modding? Your skills are beyond amazing and how you tuned the shop managers C8 is very impressive! Are you going to be adding the stronger axels like Emilia and Cleetus have done(sorry if u did this & I missed it, my pain pills cause me short term memory issues)? I m sure ur aware of LMR & their TT C8 kit they did for Streetspeed717. His clutches were slipping but they said they have clutches & a standalone (EMU?) Or a turbo controller bypass coming in shortly from a 3rd party.
God bless you & your family Andrew. Talk soon

Actually, the biggest change needed is adding more fuel. The new wide band O2 sensors handle this pretty well where the older systems couldn’t. Timing retard has always been pretty good up to a point and a little sanity seems to go a long way in these projects.
