Thank you for watching my review of the Silverado ZR2 Duramax! If you have any questions on this truck for me, comment below so I can get back to you! Also just wanted to clarify this is actually the “LZ0” 3.0L Duramax, not the “LM2” 3.0L Duramax as mentioned at 2:19. The LM2 was replaced by the LZ0 over the course of 2022 and 2023. The LZ0 makes a maximum of 305hp and 495lb.ft., as compared to a maximum of 277hp and 460lb.ft. produced by the LM2 Duramax. Thank you again for watching! -Ceall
Great review! If you get a chance to review the 1500 Bison ZR2 Duramax, I would love to read your comments and if the extra cost is worth getting the Bison options. This option does come with additional features. Best, Steve from Western Mass.
Thank you for the kind words! It is a decently rare truck, but If I see it on the lot I will give it a drive, and compare it to this ZR2. Thank you for watching Steve!
@protouringnova72 Thank you for the kind words! I don’t see many of them in white so I think that was a good choice, should be pretty unique when it comes in. Miss having my white truck, was the easiest to keep clean! Thank you for watching!
On the road, I didn’t notice a drastic difference from driving this or a Trail Boss if I’m being honest. But I’m sure once they leave the pavement, the Trail Boss definitely couldn’t do the things that the ZR2 does. So if you’re headed off road and are a big Chevy fan, this is your truck! And surprisingly I think because of the cool factor of having a diesel in a half ton, and having better fuel economy than the thirsty 6.2L V8, I think I would choose this Duramax over the 6.2! Thank you for watching again, love to see it! ❤️💪🏻
Wanna blaze through the desert with your hair on fire...Raptor. Want to have an all purpose on/offroad truck that can tow and get great MPG...ZR2 3.0L Silverado...
Im a Raptor guy personally, but enjoy all of your videos ceal... Much Thanks ! and keep 'em coming. Hope to see a Ford Ranger Raptor video from you soon. 🙂
Same here, I can’t kill my love for the Raptor! 😂 Thank you for watching again, it’s nice to hear from you! I will keep them coming and I’ll try to keep an eye on my Ford dealer to see if they have any come in that aren’t sold. I would love to get my hands on one to compare to the Canyon AT4X! Thank you again for watching, I have a Chevy Colorado video coming next week!
@@charlesjung2790 I’m glad someone liked the comparison. I know they may not be super direct competitors, but I still thought this would be a great video to compare the two. Thank you for watching!
We have 3 of these minimax turds. We purchased them in February 2024 today is January 10, 2025 all of them have 80,000 miles or so on them. We run a west Tx oilfield service average is about 90,000 miles a year. We purchased these things even with me protesting buying them and all three of them have left us on the side of the road at least three or four times apiece even one of them needing a new motor at 35,000 miles. These vehicles will be replaced within the next two weeks with gasoline vehicles Our 2021 trail bosses with 6.2l gas and then I'll have in the upper 200,000 mile range, and one of them having 316,000 on it and none of them really have ever been in the shop for anything other than a few starters and alternators in a thrown belt here and there. Needless to stay we purchased probably 10 vehicles a year and none of these little "minimax" diesels will ever sit foot on our property again, the reliability is terrible, not to mention they are underpowered and not worth a damn on fuel economy, if you take those three diesel pick ups and the three gasoline ones at the end of the year the fuel cost if it's not even it may even be better on the gasoline. And that's real world testing not driving around some concrete neighborhood.
Owning a Colorado ZR2 I'm probably NEVER buying another GM product again. Why? well for starters that "long life diesel motor" has an oil pump driven by a rubber belt located @ the rear of the motor that will fail someday...I wouldn't trust it past 100K miles or 7-8 years myself....Why didn't GM do a gear or chain drive for the oil pump? The frame like the one in my Colorado and also the Jeep Gadiators was outsourced to Styer Magma for design and its made out of a THIN high strength steel that must not be that strong because GM says in their owners manual you CANNOT! install a "cab over camper" on that truck or the Colorado....Really? What were you thinking GM? Look up the frame problems the Colorados and Gladiators have been having with these frames that were outsourced to "Euro Engineering" They aren't truck level frames....The last deal breaker....I want a TRUCK! not a glorified "Station Wagon" needs at least a 6ft long box and I don't need 4 doors that make it a major pain to drive around. Also the ZR2 can only be had with a bunch of luxury BS I really don't want on my truck...I don't want a damn sunroof on my pick-up....Guess they think everyone is a "Crypto Millionare" these days....Trucks are INSANE! I don't want all that luxury stuff when I'm climbing in-out on a muddy off-road drive.
This reminds me of when Ferrari finally used their head on the F430’s and started using chains instead of belts like the 360 Modena had, so that they didn’t have to be serviced nearly as often. And that is quite surprising, you think as a vehicle that people would want to overland with, that the capabilities for a bed camper would be possible, but I guess it isn’t so. And I hear you! A stripped out model that is still incredibly off-road capable would be really cool, and honestly I think the market would really like it! Thank you for watching! -Ceall
😂😂😂.. wow, can you whine any more.. first there's videos of the lm2 of that oil belt at 150k miles and it's absolutely fine, that's why in the lz0 it's upped too 200k miles before checking. And off road trucks shouldn't have a big bed, how do you turn around in a trail with a big ass bed? This is an off roading truck that has great street manners and a great engine.. If you can't afford one, that your issue.. still cheaper and more practical then a raptor or a trx.. to each there own I guess

Thanks for the video! Cool color & truck! From your perspective of driving several GM off road trucks, where would you rank this ZR2 Diesel?

Why the hell did you buy a Colorado Zr2 if you need at least a 6ft bed lol?
