46k total or 46k+ all the extra shit lol cause my friend said he got a 23 ram larmie for like 50k but pays almost 1300 a month for 72 months 🤣🤣 so in reality it was 80k
I recently traded a 21 trail boss on a 24 trail boss LT version with everything but the sunroof. The final cost was just under 55k. The window sticker was 70k. The dealer was very willing to make the deal since it was our third vehicle in less than 3 years.
I think it's very cool how Chevrolet introduced the active exhaust system for the Silverado for 2024. This would save me thousands of dollars on an exhaust system such as AWE. Does it sound as cool and loud? No, but it's probably for the better. A rare win for Chevrolet in my books.
ZR2 suspension is the best I've ridden and make that truck worth the price. The 6.2L motor and 10 speed transmission are perfectly matched and power gets laid down nicely. Running in tow/haul mode and using the paddle shifters in L1-L5 is very sporty. Haven't used the lockers much, bet they seemed to work well on shorter inclines and pulling out a stuck 2500HD.
If you’re keeping everything stock such as suspension, lift, tire size, etc, then go with the ZR2. But if you plan on adding those types of mods, then your best bet is to get the Trail Boss since all the extra cost on the ZR2 is for the suspension. I like the trail boss because I’m going to lift my truck and get bigger wheels which will end up looking way more aggressive than the ZR2.
Good job Ben. In the market right now. Been going back and forth with the GMC 1500 Denali and the Chevy ZR2. Based on your reviews I’m leaning ZR2. Thx
Test drove them all, decided to go with the 11/23 production date Chevrolet Colorado trail boss for $40,800 only 2 in Montana, sand dune Metallic only one in Montana at this time, no regrets!
Just bought a new ZR2 same exact spec with $9.8K discount and trade assist; I think its a no brainer when compared to the Raptor R and TRX; granted its expensive but you’re far more likely to find discounts and rebates on these than any other mfg. Love the truck so far, thanks for the vid 👍🤙
I remember when the ZR2 came out it was around 70k now it’s pushing close to 80. That Trail Boss 8k overpriced. But the Trail Boss is the more well rounded truck. ZR2 if you’re into off roading multiple times a month
Ben , I notice on the 6.2L engine it recommends using premium octane gas but not on the 5.3L engine.Do you have to use premium gas in this monster 6.2L engine or can you use 87 octane and what would the performance/mpg be . Does Chevy void warranty if I use 87octane .Have you ever asked GM about this.Would love your professional opinion. Thank you
I have a 6.2 LT Trail Boss equipped like this one but with a sunroof. Because of the price point I wondered whether I should have gotten the ZR2 but I have to say I do like the cleaner look (to me) of the TB interior. For my day-to-day purposes the added suspension wizardry of the ZR2 is just something else that may malfunction later…
What grade gas do you use on your 6.2L Chevy Silverado LT TB? Did you ever ask the dealer about using 87 octane vs. 91 or 93 octane and about warranty issues if you use 87 octane. Thank you , I'm in the market for a 24' Silverado LT TB w/ the 6.2L & definitely want the sun roof with it. Not sure if I want the 18" or 20" rims/tires
@@HeavyChevyMega I’ve been using 93 exclusively since I bought it. I’ve read 87 doesn’t hurt it but I figure for the first year at least I’ll treat it to the best. Also, mine has the 20’s-I like the look and still gives plenty of tire sidewall. I don’t do any aggressive off-roading though.
Hi Ben, I love your content... I was on the market for a Sierra AT4 till I said (lets give a shot on this Silverado ZR2), and OMG how cool that truck is, correct me if Im wrong, but the ZR2 should hold its resale value better than the AT4 in 3 to 4years from now, with the same specs of course. Also, are there any change that GM/Chevrolet get a model refresh for 2025? I know that RAM is coming with a new design for 2025. Please let us know what is your opinion about it. Thank you!
Zr2 is not worth it in my opinion it’s just a heavier version of the lt trail boss by about 500 lbs and has the same exact performance specs I, and really wish GM supercharged the ZR2 then it could have competed with the Ram trx and Raptor r.
It already competes with normal raptor. And it has front and back lockers which only a few jeeps and trucks have. Pretty good performance for the money. Make a baja version ZR1 with supercharger and wide fenders at over $100k yo compete with raptor r and TRX
I’d take a TrailBoss with the 5.3 burn 87 octane be a Pavement queen in MN, plus all the idiot drivers we have camped out in the left lane going the speed limit tying up traffic plenty of power
@@joshtaylor1416 nope. The 6.2 isn't for me. I drive close to 40K miles a year and the fuel savings alone makes the 3.0 better for me. Not to mention when doing any off-roading having instant torque is an advantage.
Am a Ford guy but I love the Chevy ZR2,especially for the front bumper design.
I’m team RST picked up a glacier blue z71 for 46k. You cannot beat that nowadays.
2.7?

I’m looking at getting a 24 zr2 duramax in the next 2 months. The suspension is what really makes me want it over the rst or trail boss
That trail boss's v8 sounds amazing!
What about an AT4X vs ZR2 comparison?
Yeah bro one has a GM logo and the other has a Chevy logo Cx
AT4X can get massage seats. ZR2 cannot.

Just picked up my custom TB with a 3.0 love it so far . I like the simple dash - only thing I would have liked is the power rear window.

I bought a Trail boss because it was a better deal. It was 15K cheaper than a ZR2 and I didn't want the leather.

I’m all for selectable lockers (ZR2) but own a Trail Boss.
Trying to figure out for a week either to go with raptor, zr1 and trail boss now I have make up mind zr2 getting next week
