@@mescobar1118because it has a bigger and way better screen and way more features. including playing any rom you want off of an sd. 400$?? they retailed for 219$ you must be looking at ebay scalpers. not to mention the dock is an amazing feature
@@mescobar1118 Nobody needs to buy one, it's just a matter of choice. However, when you start using it, you really appreciate the quality, the performance and the feel of the device. It is my favorite handheld to use on the go.

Analogue pocket can play GBA.... And other games. Also has ability to play all other retro consoles and handhelds. Plus no compatibility issues..
This is a great device but the pocket is in a league of its own.
The pocket is constantly sold out, about twice as expensive, and doesn’t hold cartridges safely. Of course, being able to also play GBA games is great, but I’d rather wait for Funnyplaying to make a FPGA GBA/SP than try to buy from Analogue.

i have both FPGA gbc and the analogue pocket, LOVE the FPGA over the pocket, BUT only gripe is their buttons and membranes dont feel as good as the original Gameboys, maybe they are too new so a little stiff, but just feels a little off. Still i play this alot more than my analogue pocket, as it feels so much better in the hand.
Just looking this short video does not justify AT ALL your "AP is beaten" (except the price, but it does much less than the AP). You've gotta explain yourself ;)

I have one and it is very easy to put together and it is decent quality. I really like it, but it does not even come close to competing with, let alone beating the analogue pocket.
But don’t be fooled because that fgpa gbc does not play some cartridges.
The only “cartridges” it doesn’t play are certain flashcarts that aren’t compatible.

Problem is the black outline around screen is water screen space unlike the analog that uses every inch of screen

I need an Analogue Pocket Color. The DMG styling is too big for me and I don't like the boxy design. I would hope it follows the Color styling more closely. Still not ready to bite.

The price of modding a original with the backlight screen and the type c cost more than buying this. Also you can choose how to build this, with many different colors
I still pick the og screen. I don't like the input latency on these devices.
This has nothing on the Analogue Pocket, don‘t exaggerate… AP still has the best screen and sound of any GB device ever.
For 70$ i have a miyoo mini plus + a generic SanDisk microSD card 128gb, a free OniosOS System with all systems even NintendoDS emulation of pokemon
Can it play Atari, SNES, NES, Game Gear roms? No? OK, then Analogue is still the King.
well it has a second fpga chip that was made officially hackable by analogue, and there are a lot of great community made mods that use the hackable chip which lets it play consoles such as the NES, SNES, and neogeo. and analogue even made an adapter wich you can slide into your cartridge slot wich lets you insert game gear games. You can als just play downloaded game gears on it since the game gear is a fully supported system on the analogue pocket.
Lol....the headline is ridiculous. The only way this beats the analogue pocket is in price and maybe availability. I have one because I love putting these together, but it pales in comparison to my Analogue pocket. It does not have all the features of an analogue pocket and it feels cheap in comparison. I would still recommend the analogue pocket over this despite the price, but this is a great budget device.

Yes you can. Get a ez flash omega cartridge and download roms onto that sd card provided. ✌🏽
Nothing will ever top the pockets screen quality and resolution. Ever. That fact alone plus you can play physical media from almost every handheld gen makes it a hands down winner across the board.

Definitely not better than an Analogue Pocket. Can’t play Game Gear, or GBA, or anything but Gameboy games, can’t output to a TV in 1080. But it probably costs the same for a smaller screen…
