I feel like a solution to the ban would just to ban the tech glitch so you get disqualified if you use it so you don't just ban a ton of people's mains.
Honestly I always kind of enjoyed the Fan item. It had a ridiculous hit sound which was funny and I think in Brawl you could largely lock people in place by spamming the regular attack. Plus its one-hit shield break smash attack was great too. If you ask me, it's kind of an underrated item just for the fun factor alone. I'd love for it to return.
And its a classic from the original Smash. I'm actually surprised they removed it, given its been in every Smash game up until Smash 4 (in fact, I didn't even realize they had removed it until watching this video... I guess its just that forgettable, but I don't really play with items sooo...).
I love it, until both Ice Climbers get one and you magically climb to 400% and get dragged to the left side of the stage, but still, best battering item in the series.
@@YosherYoshi Yeah, but I guess it balances out, because Ice Climbers are garbage in free for alls anyway because of the two getting isolated, so I guess the two item capacity just puts them on even ground.
Target Test should instead be by series (with hero/villain maps). Single character serieses would get character-specific maps as a result. Mega Man's would probably include ohko spikes and other Mega Man hazards.
How I play Smash depends on my mood. Usually, I play with items, but I do have a rule set that doesn't have them or stage hazards. When I do play with items, I have rule sets for explosive items, healing items, items with randomness, etc.
Honestly, I wished they kept the Cracker Launcher. While yes, using the darn thing is easier said than done, I just found it to be a really fun item to play around with. I would much prefer to see that item return over the Gust Bellows. At least you can strategically use the Cracker Launcher to prevent someone from making it back to the stage without feeling like you're cheating.
About the Targets, I'm really sad they decided to not implement "Smash the Targets" and "Board the Platforms" modes into the Stage Builder. It would not have taken much more dev time, and you solve Ultimate's content issue of extra modes. Seemed like a no brainer
I could see Brawl's Cracker Launcher coming back in the form of the Crackler from Kirby's Return to Dreamland. It works basically the same exact way, except it cannot be angled, fires automatically and has a sharper arch. Kirby is in desperate need of items (and content in general) from games produced the last 20 years, and this would be a nice fit.
I think the custom moves were a really cool idea. Not only did they allow for neat references to the fighter's home series, but they could also allow for unique competitive games if they were brought back. They were just _really_ hard to get. Just make it easier. Maybe only 1 extra move per special or unlocked from events and such. I can see them coming back for a Smash 6 if they're better distributed.
It seems the fan item may have been intended to return in Ultimate as the fan hit sound effect was updated in Ultimate and the sound effect name still says "harisen"

I'm pretty sure the fan was removed because it was way too strong, yes each hit does like 2 damage but when you can't defend from the attacks you can rack dozens to hundreds to damage depending on the stage. It was so bad for me and my brother we banned the item from being used in brawl, we were like 8 and 4 and knew it was that broken.
Back in brawl, neither me or my friends knew how to roll or escape the fan, so when we played and the fan appeared we would race to get and once someone got attacked, they would just wait and wait lol Same went for Game&Watch’s rapid jab
I miss some of the more chaotic items in the older Smash Bros games. It's what made it more fun for me and make me spend large hours in the games. I still like the ones we have in Ultimate, but stuff red shell will be missed.
One thing not mentioned about the invisibility item from Melee (that a surprising number of folks don't seem to know) is that you don't take any damage while it's active. I always thought that was weird, but in many stages, it still wasn't a great enough benefit considering how easy it could be to die because you didn't know where you were.

They changed the way the soccer ball functions and I hate how it is now. Sure it's still conceptually the same, but it's never on fire on the down arc so you can't tell if it's just falling or if it's still live. The arcs that it gets sent by with certain moves aren't exactly the same anymore, and lastly it requires stronger hits to even get it to go flying. Before you could hit it with tilts and dash attacks to get a slight launch with flames, but it wouldn't go much of anywhere. I used to love doing Soccer ball and bomb-omb battles because even if you avoid the bomb-ombs if one of them decides to walk near a soccerball and self-destruct it can really disrupt the flow of a fight. They changed the way Captain Falcon and Sheik how they use melee weapons. Cap doesn't do the forward thrust into the up slash anymore, and Sheik doesn't do her double swing. During the part about the Cloaking Device you seem to have forgot about the fact that the user doesn't take any damage. You can still get hit and comboed though. The Cloaking Device also made you intangible
That footage of hero was better than Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.
During the part about the Cloaking Device you seem to have forgot about the fact that the user doesn't take any damage. You can still get hit and comboed though. This makes the part where you said it's "far from the strongest item" a bit inaccurate because this item is basically a less broken version of the star with invisibility as an added feature.
This is still a good video though, and I'm not trying to come off as rude or anything so sorry if I did.
Ooooooooo...
I see the thumbnail Odyssey.
I like it...😊❤
Also, the clocking device in Melee stops you from getting damage. You only get knockback
Fan item: you make fun of me good day sir \*slams the door on him\*
doesn’t the fan have really crazy knock back when it’s thrown? Or am I misremembering that but I swore that was the case in melee
SODAAAA!!!🥤
🥤‼️😅😁🥶
Do you think you could make a ranking Mario odyssey kingdom video?😁
I thought this would be a video about unused items in the files. Are there any of those btw?
I want them to try and make more mega man items, since there should be more mega man stuff in that in general
I could see subspace emissary enemies coming back as assist trophies.
4:33 miss it and just thought it miss the fan too! 😢
Actually the firework launcher is from kirby's air ride which is a great spin off
What about the Smash Run Powers item? It was separate from the rest of the custom items and came in a shiny gold bag.
Personally, I liked the fan. Very good weapon if you can spam hard enough.
