- Over time I've really been taking social media less seriously and seeing it for the mindless garbage that it really is. There's certainly good things about it with the ability to connect easier with those who have moved far away or make friends across the world and it can even be useful when there are those trapped in countries that need to have a way to communicate with the outside world. That said, social media generally just devolves into a weird echo chamber for everyone where they ignore or bully those they disagree with by getting their anonymous friends to gang up on people they will never meet. It's a breeding ground for self-righteous behavior and a constant need to one-up other people so that you can look like the best and most moral person in the room. It's just a big old waste of time that detracts from the lives of so many different people, myself included. #socialmedia #twitter #degeneratejay

It's actual trash honestly. There's some benefits but it's mostly just people not thinking and then reinforcing that lack of thought because they're buddies.

I stay away from social media as much as humanly possible. It sucks man and sorry to hear about it. Good people exist there and don't let those clowns bring you down.

Your video on Tim Drake was thoughtful and well-rounded. You made it clear that that DC has a history of mishandling marginalized characters and virtue signaling. You were respectful and didn't attack anyone.
A lot of these people on social media tend to take things out of context and run with it. It's unhealthy and it's killing possibilities for honest discussion and debate.

That makes sense. For me it's not about giving those people attention (that's why I didn't name them or show anyone just about my issues with social media and why I'm pretty done with it.

The best thing I can say is ignore Twitter, nothing good ever happens there anyway. Focus more on the community members who love you, support you, and will stand by you. I hate that this happened, because you are someone who express your thoughts and viewpoints without polarizing others, something that feels like a rarity these days.
As much as I love the comic book community, people do get pretty heated extremely and very quickly and I have to take breaks every now and then in order to get away from the loudness of negativity, especially over *fiction*.
Those that get butthurt over fiction willingly choose to be butthurt and they want to throw a tantrum about it, while getting a few personal bonus points for gaining attention for themselves that they so desperately want. Those of us that choose to continue to support you and this community will do our best to shed you some light when you have a period of darkness.

Ive been listening to this and i believe i have found the solution. Instead of banning users who bully people like this i say we send them to areas where they can be reeducated and put to work for society. I say we call these places camps as that is a fun friendly term.
Twitter is a terrible place and cancel culture is a terrible thing. EDIT So Tim is gay or bi now really I have to agree that is just dumb why not make a new character. The whole race swap and changing characters sexuality never made since to me. Like how a while back I heard they were changing batman to black but we already have a black batman Batwing it just makes no since and doesn't make since.

If this was an alternate universe, or the main universe was reset or something, I’d have no issue with it (I’m still not crazy about the idea, but a reset is a reset. So fair enough.) I haven’t looked a whole bunch into this, so if this came from a reset, nm my comments. But if it didn’t, then no I don’t think your argument works for the reasons stated above.
Sites like Twitter can be fun if you follow the right people. I haven’t encountered an SJW or toxic fiend yet.

I've cut out all my social media a few weeks back except TH-cam and Instagram (so I can post my music and art) and honestly I've felt so much better after getting rid of stuff like Facebook, Snapchat, and Twitter (although I've been off Twitter for over a year now). I've at least cut down my IG time and eventually I may be getting rid of that as well

Social media is an awesome concept, definitely has huge pros, but in the overly sensitive world we live in it is more of a bad thing. I would actually rather not have it because most people just do stupid shit for clout, cancel people who have a different opinions and I'm sure there's more I just can't think of anything else suddenly. Never understood this. Video length is meaningless. If anything, longer videos have a better chance of handling most topics with more care or intelligence since the person making them can expand on their thoughts and give multiple sides of the argument. By you logic, anyone who doesn't make a video super long doesn't take anything seriously if your whole point is that long videos = super serious.

I'd rather watch someone willing to talk about anything like this channel where some topics are serious and some are more fun. Anyone can pretend to be fake happy and positive 24/7 but that's not real. The suicide squad review, the black widow ending video, the sack Snyder Funko pops and even the Superman game video were all very positive and fun upbeat videos lately he put out. A couple others aren't upbeat. I think personally way too many TH-camrs are focused on being positive fake happy all the time and it is very unhealthy and gets boring.
