Best Buy Really SUCKS! My Terrible Experience.

- Best Buy really crossed the line. Apparently, they are no longer doing proper returns on a ton of products even if it's their fault that the product is ruined. Also, I was treated pretty poorly at one of their locations recently. I definitely don't have much interest in shopping there again. That's why I'm going to review the store and my experience. I'm very interested to see if the angry Best Buy community gets upset about this one. Yeah... there's a Best Buy community. It's a real thing. #bestbuy #retail #review

Best Buy sucks and I will never go back. Took them 3 times to *fix* my laptop, finally they had to send it to their headquarters AGAIN. At that point I never went to pick it up because I was pissed. Went on Dell and got a new laptop and it is still working 5 years later.
In these videos I don't even look at Jay. I look at Nate zoning out.
My favorite Best Buy era was 2003-2009. Aisles and aisles of movies and the many genres they were in. Good times…

The worst part is the LimitedRun releases at Best Buy. They only ever have like 2 copies of the more highly wanted games and you need to be there day 1 to get it or you’re screwed
I've spent the past hour and a half trying to straighten out a Best Buy order online. It's still not resolved. This is one of the worst online shopping experiences I've ever had.

I have a story about Best Buy, this was about a decade ago so here’s some context, my older brother had a laptop from best buy and we had gotten a warranty on it and the way the salesman made it seem like it was a lifetime warranty, so we had that laptop for about a year and one of my brothers friends accidentally stepped on it, so of course the screen was broken, so we go to take it back to see if we could get it fixed or just get a new one, turns out the salesman lied to us about the warranty and it would have been over 600$ to fix it. My father who got it for my brother was so angry that he ripped apart our score card in front of all the cashiers and said that he wanted to cancel our score card. Also they where the only ones who sold me a new series x, ironically for 600$
One of the issues with Best Buy near me is that they don't have enough employees. There will be like 20 customers but only one employee in each department. But multiple departments are crammed into one. It's a mess.
Me and my dad went to best buy for black Friday before covid. Bought a 55 inch tv, when we got home the tv had a massive crack and was completely broken. It was late so we thought we could go and return it in the morning. The next day they told us sorry we aren't doing returns anymore. I've never seen my dad so pissed, he took the tv out of the box plugged it in to a near by outlet and showed them the broken tv. Long story short, my dad was able to return it like a week later at a different best buy.
They're lucky he didn't throw a punch. What a bunch of morons.
Lucky. I had the same experience but even after taking it back to the store and after calling corporate they told me they will not exchange it. A TV is not a cheap item so there is no way I will ever give Best Buy anymore of my money. I told the guy I should have bought a TV on Amazon and he said it wouldn't matter Amazon gets their TVs from us.
This is what to do whenever they get smart with you.
Go in there with a red bull or something, and pour it on some of their electronics. Make sure to do it at a store that you can easily drive away from.
They can call the police and ban you from Best Buy, but really, best buy is going out of business, so what's that going to do?
For the money they cost you in their piss poor customer service, they lose in shrinkage.

Ironically I went to 3 targets yesterday and at one of them an employee got fired because I asked him to scan a tag that he was standing in front of and he litterally told me no and to go fuck myself that he wasn't digging through pallets and after that he was still yelling at me talking shit from 6 isles away, then on my way home I decided to stop at best buy and the employee that I talked to helped me move the large appliances out of the toy isle because they use those two isles for storage then I picked up the Austin powers trilogy on bluray and we got to talking about the second ones soundtrack!
This is super bizarre Best Buy’s here in Colorado always have plenty of stock, nice helpful employees, products are not damaged, and they always accept returns

Thats not my experience at all. I bought a TV at a Colorado Best buy, I opened the box and the screen was cracked. I took it right back and they refused to exchange. I will never give money to any best buy ever again. If best buy was the last store that sold TVs I would go without a TV or buy used. The completely empty parking lot should have given me a clue not to go in.
I feel like you either have to Easter - Egg hunt for your ideal for your product(s) or buying online.

I’m in nyc and I never have problems with Best Buy. But then again I only buy online or on their app so I believe the items come straight from a warehouse. In person shopping kinda sucks nowadays. From Employee attitudes to crowded places I just rather order online.
Ya I made the mistake of wanting a TV that day so I went to a Best Buy and it was the worst experience Ive ever had at a store. I will never give them my money again.
After the last experience I had there, I won't ever be going back again to another Best Buy. Poor service that took way too long, a sales "consultant" who said I needed (and tried to sell me) about three times the amount equipment to set up a home audio/visual entertainment system to 3 rooms. His stock answer for my questions was "we recommend you use a separate "piece of equipment for each room", his answers didn't sound right to me, so I went home and did my own homework, which took about 30 minutes online. Went back to get the things I needed, but 3 of the 6 items I required were out of stock, some connectors, the correct crimping tool, and the right kind of cable splitter.
I don't know if it's all or just some of their stores, but they sure seem to being steadily getting worse these last few years, poorly organized, goofy customer service policies, and holes all over their shelves (low inventory). The the last couple of Best Buys I was in, gave the appearance of a retailer in financial trouble, I think even the Venezuela government could do a better job of having goods on the shelf. I understand the need for a business to have to tighten the belt in difficult and changing times, but when you keep making changes that alienate your customers, you eventually lose them, and any wise businessman knows that's it very difficult to get those customers back.
Maybe I am just lucky but my local Best Buy is not like that at all. I have had no problems getting my money back for a defective product and the employees have been nice just not really knowledgeable about video games.

Here in Norway we have one shop in Oslo called Platekompaniet. That shop is one of the best shops ever. They have like 20 rows of movies, CDs, books, vinyls, etc. It's AWESOME, but I haven't returned anything so idk if they do returns or not
Most BB employees I've met are friendly enough, they're just not knowledgable or interested in helping. I've gone in looking for info on cameras and laptops since I didn't want to drive to the city and I get nothing. Only reason I really go there is if there's a deep discount sale on something. Sucks how far they've fallen- I bought my original PlayStation there literal decades ago. I don't know about copyright law on the returns, but I had a motorcycle dealer outright lie to my face about something (long story) and I almost got in a fight with their salesman. Lots of retailers have no integrity.
Best Buy is absolutely horrendous
One time I ordered Pokémon cards from Best Buy's website and instead got a steelbook blu-ray of some movie I've never heard of. I filed a complaint and they sent the item I was supposed to get without having me send the blu-ray back. The store near my house doesn't really have a movie section anymore.
Bought my son an AlienWare laptop for his HS graduation in 2017. The machine crashed five months later. Best buy said I’d have to deal with Dell Computer for any repair. Dell phone staff in India or Pakistan. Laptop never got fixed because I’d have to pay for it. May 2017 was the last time I walked into a Best Buy store. They suck! So does AlienWare/Dell!!!
Went to BB 14th st nyc today for a remote for my tv. Their web site said they had it in stock., zero in the store. I walk all around and the place was near empty. I had to hunt down a lone employee who ask me to wait while he took out the trash before he helped me. The manager just made excuses as to the lack of inventory and suggested i waste more car fare and go to the 23rd st store. I had no choice so i went there. Glad i did it was like night and day. The staff there was quick to get what i needed and i was in and out in under ten minutes. Bottom line BB is dying a slow death. I cant see it surviving much longer. Reminds me of Crazy Eddies just before they went out of business, sad.
As someone who vents on the BBY subreddit for mental therapy, I can tell you that the only pathetic thing is how corporate treats us grunts. As soon as I can leave, I will.

So my local Bewt Buy has almost nothing stocked. More appliances than media, and half the time they don't seem to try to find anything
This also reminds me of a time i bought a $1500 laptop when i got home it did not have a charger so, I went back and this angry karan employee told me it is sold as is even though it was completely new, I had to pay 30 extra bucks for a damn charger even though though it was suppose to come with it.

I bought both my tv, PS5, Series X, a game, and a DVD set from Best Buy and had no problems. I suppose it depends on the location (I'm in CT).

I cracked the upper right corner of the LCD back cover of my laptop and they attempted to charge me TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS in repairs
I preordered a Mortal Kombat steel book and it came in with a big dent in it and a couple scratches on, I’m gonna try and trade it in, I probably won’t get another from them
I've been to Best Buy here where I live and never had the issues you guys describe. Only issue I recall having was trying to get them to price match with Amazon and this was a store in NY. But where I live now I haven't had any issues. Your store that I'm assuming you will never go to again is trash tho. It sucks you guys had all these issues. I would feel the same way you guys feel.
My buddy said they have rallies in the morning before work hella weird crazy cuz they used to be hella good on returns plus they're middle of the Store tv deals used to be off the hook
And I kind sort of see where they are coming from as well. They don’t want you watching a dvd and then returning it afterwards, most places have the same policy (they should have exchanged it for you though)

I usually order from BB for the anime steelbooks and so far they have been fine but the way they package stuff is garbage. My mha season 4 limited edition blu ray box came with the corners being a little squished. The only protection it got was from a thin sheet of bubble wrap. Wal-Mart is a little more trash tho because their blu rays almost always beat up. Plus where I'm from (not sure how it is for everyone) you can't even physically look and touch the blu rays (games too) to see if the box is okay because they are behind a locked case. You have to call someone to open the case and only they can reach in and grab the thing you want.
I only order online from BB now. I prefer them over Amazon because it's easier for me to go to the store to return something.
Never let them give you shit about returning movies. I return damaged steelbooks all the time and if they don't have anymore I insist on my money back.
Amazon has better prices sometimes also there returns are great.

Well Jay said his main experience was with a ton of them in MN and also in Maine but Nate travels a lot and had said in a let's play video he went to these stores in some states down south and they seemed even worse to him

I barley go there now too a few years back I order my first pre built gaming pc and it was around $1300-1500 and then when I unboxed it it was a completely different pc that was worth $600-700 and when I went back and returned it they said they didn’t have the one I ordered anymore and that they can try and find a equivalent too it in price not specs
I went to get the samsung s23 ultra at best buy and the price online was 999 final price on samsung app but I went to best buy and they threw 200 more dollars on the phone I'm like why is it 200 more from retail

In my 21 years living I never been to a Best Buy, but my mom and dad has and they hate it.
ordered a mid price range radio. made an appointment for installing it but they said it would have to wait three weeks..on the day of my appointment, I get notified that the radio had not arrived yet....IT WAS COMING FROM ANOTHER STORE IN THE SAME CITY.... I had to schedule my own day to do this...it cost me money to miss appointments.. one part they had mailed to ME...what kind of business works like that? mailing different parts to store and customers, then waiting until the last minute to deliver the main part to the store that was installing it? then, they hang up on me... THEN now that I am TRULY mad, I got a person that at least listened . the management of this company is just pathetic

A few years ago, I got the Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop (when it was the thicker model) at the Best Buy in the West Acres Mall in Fargo, ND. I was excited to get this laptop, only to find that the battery would not charge with the included charging cord. It was a new laptop, but it was defective right out of the box.
I then returned that laptop to get a new Lenovo laptop from that same Best Buy. Bringing that Lenovo laptop back to my place, I then turned it on, and the fans were so loud. Thus, I am so sceptical about the Fargo, ND Best Buy in the West Acres Mall. That is two defective laptops in a row.
I will tell you what really sucks at worst buy they stop selling dvds blurays now they dont have shit anymore i am finshed with them they suck now i have no choice but to buy at ebay or amazon.

I recently bought a TV, opened the box, and the screen was cracked. I tried returning it the same day but they said I broke it so no exchange. There is a reason these physical stores are closing and everyone goes to Amazon.

@@andrewmontano6010 I've been to the Portland Maine one a few times. The people are friendly enough there that I doubt they'd be standoffish but the selection is still pretty bad for products in stock if you're looking for anything that isn't a TV or computer or appliance. If you want those it's fine but everything else is just not even worth looking at.

I’ve only been to Best Buy a couple of times. I got PS4 there, and my Windows 10 labtop, not a problem. Then again, I’m not Frequent shopper there. I live in Rhode Island, but I go to one in Attleboro in Massachusetts, the tax is lower there.

I can't stand Best Buy for many reasons. Recently, I needed a USB cord for my apple Ipad and I looked online and found one for around 3 dollars at Best Buy and it said they were in stock and the guy never found them, he searched the store while I waited, but he found one for 1 dollar but he then tries to sell me a 30 dollar cord.

Yeah, for me Best Buy is dull, filled with people who don't seem to care and are boring. And if you push em even JUST a little, they basically gang up and yell at you. I feel guilty to buy from there. I only buy from there if I find something on sale or something I don't find anywhere else.

The Best Buy near me has remodeled... Its about the size of a pharmacy now... a lot of stuff is out of stock but they'll order it for you... There were tons of employees but no one immediately helped me, when i asked an employee to help me find a phone case they said sure then brought me to another employee to help me and she just went back to her phone. The other employee just pulled out his phone and said he could order me one. I asked do they not have items in stock at the store and he said they primarily do ship to store now. No thanks ill just use amazon. Thought it be convenient just to pick one up down the street but those days are over now i guess.

That’s what I mean. They were both extremely popular at one point and both had a really steep decline. Best Buy will go out of business within the next 5 years.

This is unrelated to Best Buy but you guys saying that they tried to give you a gift card reminded me of this experience I had with Spencer’s about a month ago. So I went to the mall, I walked into Spencer’s and saw this cool looking lava lamp. Then I went home, plugged it in and it turned out to be kinda lame. So a few days later, I went back to the mall to return it and they give me a fuckin gift card in exchange. The lava lamp was like 25, 30 bucks. To say I was upset was an understatement.
Anyone remember Future Shop?
There using roadie now and those guys won’t make any attempts to actually make delivery. The guy lied and said I was in a gated community, didn’t make the delivery and returned it back tot the store. Now Best Buy I saying it can take 10 days to process a refund, also an addition 10 days to receive my refund. Best Buy made record profits shirk the pandemic and they have gotten worst.
Best Buy here in Canada sucks. The store is depressing the stock is barely existent there’s no more physical media the TVs are crap they never have any of the new models the car audio section is laughable the PC section is also laughable. How is this store still in business.

Yep we were at a Best Buy and we were looking for a computer and I know nothing about computers so we asked them what would be a good computers for gaming and the guy helping us was so rude and acting like we were so stupid because we didn’t know which computer was good one. but when my Brother and I went to the Best Buy at Holland it was a lot more friendly people 3 guys help us and we were just talking to them like we were friends so I always want to go too that Best Buy.
