- Here's a video on the Lian Li AL120 V2 Unifans and how to wire them with all the logic you'll need for sorting out up to 16 fans. I'm starting by showing you how to connect a single AL120 V2 fan and then moving into multiple fans and the logic there both with and without the triple pack connector.
The Lian Li AL120 V2 fans feature a number of interesting things worth knowing. They include an interlocking mechanism so they can easily be connected together. This means you can connect groups of fans but only have two wires coming out to control the power and RGB lighting. On a single AL120 V2 fan this cable can be connected directly to the CHA_Fan or SYS_fan on your motherboard for power and then the other cable has an adapter for the 5V RGB header which lets you control RGB lighting from your motherboard software.

It's important to keep in mind the power requirements of the fans if you're not going to be using the controller from the triple pack as this could impact how many fans you can connect to a single header on your motherboard.

Ok after thoroughly watching this video again my issue was I daisy chained 6 fans in one group and that’s why it didn’t work I unchained them and put them in separate groups easy fix
Was your setup something like 11:56 and it didn’t work by that time? I am planning to do a similar setup.

Since they’ve released the uni fans, I’ve wanted to see a Lian Li x beQuiet! fan so badly. The performance and silence of beQuiet!, paired with the aesthetic and connectivity of Lian Li. I’d never want a new fan again

I have all al120mm v1 fan s ive just got 3 140mm v2 fans for bottom intake my problem is when plugged into to the v1 control box and boot up u only get the rgb no power but if i take the power connection out and put it bk in it works perfect ly
I just ordered a handful of these and I'm hoping that I can route everything with the provided cables. I have a Corsair 900D and I've grown tired of all the cable mess from having two 480 radiators.
What cable would I use if I wanted to connect a 3 pack of lian li fans to a kraken AIO? doesn't look like the 3 pack comes with the required cable

Updated firmware and whatnot but still seems limited to just red and blue colours, the software stops responding correctly whenever I try to change it too much... seems buggy af - I just want static white colour, didn't know it would be harder than a 'meteor' of red and blue lol
I think the world of RGB is ripe for disruption. As a relatively new adopter, I've been shocked by the lack of overall interoperability between brands. When I bought Corsair fans I expected to be able to sync them with my Gigabyte motherboard RGB headers, but it doesn't appear that I can.
Hopefully some of these problems get sorted in the coming years.

@@TheProvokedPrawn I did and didn't have much luck with it, but I also didn't try it for very long.
It's strange to me how many hardware standards there are, and how many hardware manufacturers require that you use their own hubs. Just a standard hub design that can interoperate with any fan manufacturer would be really welcome.
@@iamamish Until things improve, you can actually buy adapter cables to convert the proprietary connectors for most fan brands into the standard ARGB connectors. It's an annoying extra cost per fan, but that's what I've done to use my own ARGB controller and hub w/ components from various brands w/ their own proprietary connector.
Can i connect lian li strimer cable along with fans with controller to control all from one software?
You need the strimmer controller as well but you can still control both from L connect
Is it possible to connect 2 groups of 4 Fans together via daisy chaining and attach it to one of the ports without losing led addressability? I have 2 480mm radiators in push-pull so I would run 16 al120 v2 fans from 2 of the 4 available ports. This would significantly reduce cable clutter.

These V2 cables look very short. Does anywhere do extensions?
They sell extra things on AliExpress. They aren't so short it's problematic though
if my motherboard supports 12v output, how many fans can i have on one cable? and does the included controller cancel this effect out making me be able run more than 6 on the one cable from the controller?

Thank you for your great videos. They are very helpful. I ordered a bunch of Lian Li Infinity fans, the o11 Dyn Evo Case and the new NZXT Kraken 360. I have some questions. Maybe you are so kind to answer them.
I have to build the case in reverse (left side on the desk), so i want to mount the GPU upright on the side (ordered the Kit and a 600mm long riser cable from Lian Li), the AiO with Exhaust fans in the Top, Bottom intake and rear exhaust. i could not find a video with this config AND some merging light effects with L Connect 3. So i want your experienced opinion on that.....would it look odd because there is a relatively huge gap between AiO fans in the Top and the rear exhaust fan when using some effects that expand through multiple group of fans? I hope you know what i mean. Thank your for answer.

Is it possible to buy the single rbg connector cable seperately? Reason I'm asking is to avoid buying 2 triple packs and instead buy 1 triple pack and then complete the rest of the case fans with a bunch of single packs.
Hi! im looking to build in the hyte y40 and i was planning on using a 240mm aio on the side of the case. I am planning to use the nzxt kraken 240 aio and want to fanswap the stock ones with these ones. Is it possible to use two of these fans for the aio and use the left over one for exhaust?

So the only difference between the single fan box and 3 fan box is that the 3 fan box comes with the hub but everything else is the same.

Hi can I use any controller to the single fan one? What controller would you suggest for like 13 single fans

The ports are the same but I don't know about daisy chaining two different sizes together. Not sure if that works or how well

I was mostly interested in the daisy chain with the extra cable they include in the box so if the ports are the same, I should be able to then connect 3 of my al140s that are connected together on the front of my case to an al120 that will be on the top of my case near the front with the included cable. ok i'm getting fed up bruhhhhhh. I have an lian li aio cooler. I have a set of 3 al120v2s. They both come with a controller. The fan connections are different and I can't plug both the aio and triple case fans into one hub and I'm also running out of usb headers on my mobo. So like...wtf do i do? Was I suppose to get matching fans??? the aio is a galahad ii 360 lcd with sl infinity fans and my case fans are al 120v2s.

Nice vid! Would like to know more about the noise the fans make. Especially with very little RPM, as modern builds like the Phanteks NV7 "demand" a large number of fans, which is overkill, most of the time. So they can run a low speeds but some fans make an unpleasant "humming" sound at low speeds.
Lian Li fans are very quiet in my experience
I just purchased these 2 days ago to replace my noisy Corsair ML120 fans. They are incredible and are nearly silent on quiet mode. The RGB is visually stunning and only one wire. The only con is the price.
yes but if you only have 2 argb one used for the case and another for the cooler. no adapter splitter. so you have to buy one. it should have been included. I now have to wait 3 days till they come in to finish building my pc. what a let down. I will never buy another Lian-Li case for fans.
