This man is a LEGEND! I spent hours looking for cable management for a middle of the room desk but there are so few setups out there! It made me want to reconsider my desk placement but fengshui is important. Thanks for the video!
Just what I was looking for! This video provided practical and easy-to-follow tips on how to effectively hide wires and cables. Not only does my desk look more organized, but the lack of visible wires has also significantly reduced distractions, allowing me to focus better on my work. This video is a must-watch for a neat and efficient workspace!
Nice makeover! Really appreciate you making this video because there aren't enough desk setup videos where the desk is in the middle of the room (like mine). I'm always on the lookout for these types of setups. Thanks!
I've had 20+ different variations of all of this in my amazon cart for weeks, and with this video you've made it all SO easy. I have a similar setup and didn't ever consider velcroing the Lenovo docking station to the bottom side of the desk... THANK YOU for sharing this!
you the man!! just upgraded my standing desk setup, cable management is the best its ever been thanks to this helpful video and handy amazon products! thanks
I'm still watching this video but I'm going to comment as I go along. First, my setup is in my living room which has about a 12 1/2 foot by 13 1/2 foot usable area so not a lot of space to work with. My desk is an L shaped desk 6ft X 6 ft in a corner. I purchased a similar Trond power outlet with 13 outlets but mine has 5 USB charging ports. I also bought 2 Trond power outlets with 4 outlets and 3 USB charging ports. I also have 2 high end surge protected power bars with 8 outlets. I use one of the 8 outlet bars for those pain in the rear end power blocks. 6 of the outlets are used and 2 are covered by the blocks. Of the rest of the power bars (37 outlets) 24 outlets are used. When you got to the part about giving yourself enough time to complete the job and you said for you it was 1/2 a day I couldn't help laughing. I redid mine about 2 years ago and it took me in excess of 16 hours. Before you started your wife's setup was messy but when you finished it looked awesome. You did an amazing job as well as gave me some really good ideas. I have to redo mine in the next month or so. I'm dreading the job but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. I've picked up a few good ideas from your video to incorporate into my job. Thank you. That is an excellent DIY video.
Hey great setup! I'm building myself a standing desk in the next week or so, and I need to do this exercise myself. I know you said her work provided those monitor arms, but would you be able to provide the name of them? I really like the idea of the USB outlets in the arms.
Sorry they are ordered by her company and it seems they only sell the arms from company to company no outside sales. I will leave some similar ones in the description.
Great video man. very well done. broke my heart that you didn't have elec. outlets near the corners of the desk back to run the main power line. I'd imagine it broke your heart as well, given the level of work you put in. amazing work.
Thanks for watching! Yes it was a struggle to find a place for the cords. I wish I had placed the outlets on the side wall when we built the house. I will be looking for a better solution in the future!
Would have switched out the blue cables for black ones! OR even all cables for white ones would definitely look super sleek! Great improvement either way!
The Trond power strip is a made-in-China cheap one, I just received one from Amazon today, opened the box, took it out and inspected it, and an immediate return order.
Wow! Not many people realize that this is so hard to do!! I tried cable managing my gaming setup and it took me about 8hrs to do it and even then, some cables are still hanging 😅.
really clean. just a question though, aren't standing tables normally particle board? how is the table holding up one year later with you screwing in extra stuff beneath it? Thanks for any responses
Looks good! You should see my setup with 4 computers (all with dual monitors) in a small bedroom. A tangled mess of spaghetti - I need to do what you did here. Very informative!
You can use both velcro or 3m tape. I just felt 3m tape is better for more permenant boxes and velcro is better for things I may change or need access to in the near future.
damn this setup is close to 3-4months of my paycheck ahhh, guess this is for parents / 40y.o. home setups I'm happy with a simple refurbished student laptop (RAM and Storage i upgraded from 16gb/256gb to 32gb/1TB), a low profile keyboard and a simple 5$ mouse lol
If you live in a warm and/or humid environment, do NOT trust the adhesive strips on the cable raceways. Put three screws in them for good measure. From my experience, the adhesive on pretty much every kind of cable raceway is terrible and deteriorates quickly in such environments.
May I know how you connect to two monitors with a laptop? My laptop only have a HDMI port and no type-c/thunderbolt, I've been searching for something like HDMI splitter and all of them doesn't support extend display, only duplicate display. Then some of them only allow 1 output at a time. Or am I looking at the wrong product? Please let me know how you do this laptop dual monitor setup!🙏🙏
I've got a rebranded model of the exact same monitor arm, but without the USB hub in the base, tho it does have the cutout for it. Does anyone know where to buy the hub itself so i can install it plug and play? I live in Europe, so preffered from china on ali/ebay or european seller😊
As a decorator it would look even better if you were to have this desk up against the wall so people don’t see the ugly backside of those computers. Usually this problem is manageable but this set up specifically doesn’t look right being in the middle of the room
not bad but you messed up the docking station. I got the same one and that thing has a power button to start the laptop. Unless you don't turn your laptop off this is quite helpfull. Also Lenovo has some under the desk mounting systems specificly for that docking station. Als what I think looks cool is a laptop stand where you can put in the laptop so it sits upright on the desk ;)
6:27 Safety - electrocution, trip and fall risk. The white floor cable needs to anchored at 0 degrees horizontally parallel to the floor using a sturdy step on cable management case.

@@SHELTECH4just ordered all the parts! I ended up going for a Zhiyo raceway but everything else will be the same!
hey i learned something new! didn't know about fengshui, seems really interesting so thanks :D
finally a desk that isn't against the wall! thank you!
Also looking for this. Just to sit in a command position.

One of the best cable management videos out there.
you’d think you’d have way more than 3,000 subscribers with a video like this, good stuff, keep it up
Wow, thanks!
freaking clean. Your wife got the W on choosing you.
Wow.... Great job with the clean-up bro. Good job and great video!!!
Appreciate it! Glad you liked it!
Satisfying watch. You also have a relaxing voice. Wife must be happy. Those LG monitors are great, I have the 39’ myself.
Thank you kindly
Hey thanks, this is exactly what I needed to finally get the project done.
Glad I could help!
Love it! Thank you for showing the desk in the middle of the room....I'll be doing something similar this week :)
you the man!! just upgraded my standing desk setup, cable management is the best its ever been thanks to this helpful video and handy amazon products! thanks
Nice job! It looks incredible.
Very nice setup. I just got my standing desk and am in the process of connecting and hiding all those hookups . Appreciate this vid!
Awesome!!!thank you this is the exact setup that I need to work from home
Glad to help
I've been trying to figure out exactly how to manage my cables. This was very helpful, thanks for this!
Thanks For Watching!
It's a great video, and thanks for the tip on the sleeve split!
It really helps to neaten up the setup!

You could run the power cable under the tables to the outlet.

Extremely helpful video, would have taken me hours to figure on my standing desk layout
really clean. just a question though, aren't standing tables normally particle board? how is the table holding up one year later with you screwing in extra stuff beneath it? Thanks for any responses
My desk is a solid wood like material so I have no problem. But even with the ikea type cardboard desk you should be ok too.
Super clean look, I like it :)
Thank you! Cheers!

I added a hole in my desk to have all cables come through there instead of having them around the edge. Also saves lenght of cable needed.
Yep I wanted to do that but the wife didn't trust me with the saw!
You used the velcro for docking station. Why not use velcro for extension boxes as well? Any difference?
You can use both velcro or 3m tape. I just felt 3m tape is better for more permenant boxes and velcro is better for things I may change or need access to in the near future.
Super clean

Thanks 👍
ok i am redoing my office, question....where are people putting their routers? i never see the routers ...where they at??
I wouldve ran that spinal cord thing TOWARDS the other wall for a cleaner look and so it wont be in the way
Looks good!
Im in love with this managing! Thank you sir, you've inspired me to fix my desk cables. 🙌🫶
Nice video bro! What reference and brand is that Standing Desk?
I actually have no name on this desk. I tried looking it up. It is sold directly to companies only through a catalog.
If you live in a warm and/or humid environment, do NOT trust the adhesive strips on the cable raceways. Put three screws in them for good measure. From my experience, the adhesive on pretty much every kind of cable raceway is terrible and deteriorates quickly in such environments.
So satisfying
That's clean ✨
I don’t suppose you have a link to where I can get one of those monitor arms? I’ve been looking for something that has cable management built in.
Sorry my wife got them through work. I linked a comparable type in the description
@@SHELTECH4 it’s all good mate, I’ve managed to find something similar here in the UK but thanks for getting back to me mate! Have a good one! 😊
Nice! But when power bricks will heat up... double sided tape will not work.
Been great so far. 3M makes a great product.
But the hub have a power bottom that wakes or put sleep the Lenovo computer. Only power cord in diagonal is not that cool xD

Hello, Congratulations Cool 👍👏👏👏

Hows all those sticky tape holding up are they still all sticking?
They are industrial strength. Never have fallen down and hard to get off
