This video was so incredibly helpful. Nothing but pure, easy to follow and understand information all the way through, AND you just so happened to be demonstrating everything with the exact motherboard I'm using in my build! Thanks so much!
I just wanted to say Thank You very much for your great video 🙏🏽🙏🏽 I just built my computer and nothing I did would make fans work. I even watched several other videos. Your clear explanation was the only one that helped. All fans are now working.
Thank you so much for this video. This is the ONLY video that described everything and showed everything. You are the reason why my PC is working now. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
awesome video man this was the most clear and easy to follow installation guide if any of you are having any trouble changing fans speeds or rgb colors i downloaded the fix but it didn't work then i just downloaded L-connect 2 and it worked i keeped the first one doe
The best video i've found on the wiring of these things. About to pull the trigger on a purchase but was not clear on what hook-ups were absolutely necessary. Cheers!
I had such a hard time installing these using other videos. This video helped me so much. It took longer to mount them and do cable management than it did setting them up. Thank you
Thank you for doing this video, I followed it to install fans into my computer. I'd never played around with the inside of a pc before so it was great to have this guide.
Its been quite along time since i built a pc. Around 10 yrs. Picked up 6 of these for my new build and i was amazed at the quick connect and less wires. It was such a cool feature
The Flat-lay walkthrough was so very clear and helpful. I've been changing my T-30 3x daisy chained AIO fans to share CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT rather than all on CPU_FAN due to learning about, and having significant worries of, overloading the 1 AMP limit on fan headers, since T-30s are well above that under full draw. Then I thought, wait, I have 4 Lian Li fans connected to my hub. Is that in danger? And I wasn't sure how they were powered, as I was pretty sure it was power supply related instead, so safe. Your video here helped me clear that worry up without having to take apart my cables and trace things. And also reminded me of how much of a mess the cables are with hubs lol.
Clever design with the cable and controller. And the software looks pretty straightforward. I'll give it a go when I'm done with all the corsair's mess. BTW great job on the tutorial. Cheers!
Aquacomputer and its Aquasuite has been the top option for fan controller and software for longest time. They have options like splitty 4 to control corsair argb fans and farbwerk360 for the rest. Watercool been long working on one. Ekwb is completely redoing there. Corsair has always been not great.
I just ordered these, two 3 packs, and finding out that i can have set speed case fans AND temp controlled aio fans on the same hub, man oh man these fans really are super functional, Also ordered the Meshify C, cannot wait till next weekend, i should have everything by then and its going tto be a breeze to rebuild with the new case and fans. Theyre very pretty as well.
I dont like the new AL120's aestheticly, but I got to say Lian Li is producing quality products. Myself I use the SL120 fans in my case. And i love them. They are insanely good! Easy to install, really quiet and real good case-cooling.
@@Luceium01 I really don't know how everyone says it's easy to install them..I m trying 12 hours now and can't find a way to work..the software just doesn't recognize them..neither of the 3 L connect.and with all the fixes and fw updates ..disaster
@@alllemak have you figure it out already any updates? I Can't seem to connect the fans into L3 Connect but the fans are rolling tho.. just the lights are missing... help
Just wanted to say thank you. I installed the AL120 and they work amazingly! I did have to switch the position of my bottom two fans because they didn't show any RGB. I am looking into getting them connected with Corsair iCUE so I don't have to have two different RGB software.
thank you so much. Simple explanation, no needless fluff. I was stuck with the optional part, i was unsure what to do with those cables as the included manual didn't really tell me what it did. It made it seem it was necessary.
Sorry for all the comments I have the fans together, they worked for a few minutes no only 2 in the row of 3 work, I want to take off the bad fan, How do you get them apart?
I hope they make one the that lets you set the fan direction so we can show the front part of the fan to any type of air intake. If Lian li does that, they will be the god of fans. they are already the king but way better to have complete control.
I have the older 140mm model, and I just skip using any of the proprietary things and just plug them into the motherboard's argb and let it handle all the RGB. It also uses openRGB when I'm on Linux too. Works well.
The AL fans look absolutely beautiful. I'm getting a set. Important to note that Lian Li states on their website that AL fans should not be connected to the SL Uni-Hub controller.
The sl hub controller didn’t last very long for some people. The watercoolers endup using the aquacomputer fan controller with rgbx (each rgbx control 3 fans max or 90rgbx). So quadro/octo.
But how do i connect my Lian Li CASE fans that came with the Lancool Mesh 2? Those fans have 3 seperate fan connectors that dont fit in the controller (it fits into the mobo)
Hi. Awesome video. I have one question. When you say that the RGB cable is optional, do you mean that it will be present in the kit nonetheless and using it is optional?
It sure helps to remember what header you put the pwm into.. I'm an idiot and was having issues getting pwm sorted since my fans would just go full balls as soon as I enabled pwm in L connect..
I have Lian Li 360 SL fans + Lian Li 240mm Aio that EACH ONE has their OWN controller. Should I plug all the fans and ARGB connectors to the ONE controller ?
Soo here's my thing I want these fans and I plan on getting them but I need 26 of them because I have an Obsidian 1000d. Do I absolutely need the USB plug?
Hey! I am going to do a case swap soon. My new case will be an O11 Air Mini and I already made sure that all of my components are compatible with this case. I am also going to buy a 2-pack of SL140 fans which I will connect to my motherboard for RGB and PWM control. My question is this. I already have 6x Arctic aRGB PWM fans that I will be keeping for now (these will go inside the Lian Li case). Can I connect these fans to the Lian Li controller that comes with the SL140 fans or they won't be compatible? And if they're not, is there any aRGB controller that you recommend?
good day sir, can I connect another triple set fans on the same controller using 3 and 4? And then using synch cable to the motherboard? Because I cannot find the right connector to go straight into my power supply. (Seasonic Prime PX 1000) Thank you.
I’m planning on building my first build and im going to buy the sl120 version of this. I was wondering if i can plug the pwm signal wire into my cpu fan header
Thank for the vid. bought the same fan. However after installing fans doesnt spin. But there is rgb.. do I need to install first iconnect software? So the fan can start spinning? Thanks a lot.
Are these only different to the SL's in appearance only or is there a performance difference? Looking to change the stock fans ive got on my EK AIO and have SL's as case fans wondering if the AL's would be better performance wise? Cheers, Awesome video as always!
So if I have my SL FANS already connected to my controller and I connect AL FANS to that same controller, will it recognize them as AL FANS? Or do I have to add an additional controller?
im actually installing these right now, but im having trouble understanding the optional motherboard plugs. is there a benefit to having the optional motherboard sync? or its just extra steps i dont need to do. i have 2 sets of these Lian Li SL120 (so 6 individual fans total). If im able to, should i just hook up every available/optional plug? or would that just do more harm than good?
Now If I wanted to put 2 of thous lianLi uni SL120 fans on my Graphics card (instead of the ones it came with) Would I want to connect the fan power to the Graphics card or still into the controller? (just asking to be Shure I think the answer is into the Graphics cars power so they spin how the graphics card needs them to, and the rgb connector into the controller to set the color right-? )
