I have 1 hand so replacing my 6 cheap apevia 120's with the Uni Al120 was super easy even for me. Being able to adjust the speed is a huge deal even though i know thats mainly an issue with the cheapies. They blow so much more air at almost half the rpm while being extremely quiet. Beautiful rgb settings. Super happy with my LianLi o11d evo build. Thanks PP.
What's exactly wrong with 2 cables, especially if they go into the same place? You literally wire fans once per build, and with 1 cable, as in many similar vendor-locked systems, you lose out on motherboard control and interoperability, and are often required to run software permanently. Is one-time cable management that much of an issue for people?
@@Lishtenbird while is not a big issue it is clear there are better ways. So having to be limited to 1 controller that does 6 fans and need 12 cables just to wire fans feels extremely outdated. Once you go over 6 now you gotta add more controllers. By contrast you have lian li that let's you control 16 fans and takes a minimum of 4 cables to wire them up. That's a massive improvement in design.
Unfortunately Lian Li doesn't include any of these fans in their AIO kits, so you have to spend another $110 to upgrade the fans. At this point, they should be in the new kits IMHO.
Lian Li keeps impressing with both the lightshow as with their innovation. For my next built in a Lian Li EVO case, I'm on the fence: Go for Light Wings or these. A quiet operation is something I value over performance. Using the INF. fans on a radiator seems to yield very average performances according to Techpowerup. I'll wait for more reviews and comparisons before giving Lian Li the nod.
@@RacismIsMentalillness Thank you, your comment is very helpful. The Infinity can potentially be louder, but when your air flow setup is decent then you can lower the RPM curve to compensate a bit. How many casefans do you have in your mini?
Scythe Kaze Flex are the quietest case fans on the market for the performance. They make an RGB model but it's pretty vanilla and honestly RGB isn't good for performance because the plastic must be translucent, meaning it's less rigid and actually has a lower CFM than opaque fan blades.
I've cycled through the SL120, AL120 & just recently switched to the SL Infinity fans. The one thing I noticed is that the SL120 & SL Infinity fans were much quieter than the AL120's @ both low RPM & high RPM, so it was easier to make a fan curve profile for each the SL120 & SL Infinity's. I was just going to comment on your other video comparing the Corsair fans that u need to get your hands on these.. They do look great and I’m definitely getting them for a build I have.. Imo if this fan had the thick strip of RGB on the outside that the OG SL fans have it would be the completely blow everything else out of the water
As someone who works with electrical equipment, I still cannot fathom how every company making RGB fans, or any fan for that matter, hasn’t made a way to daisy chain their fans.. There is definitely more than 1 way to do this which I’m sure would get around Lian Li’s patent (if they even have one).. I should apply at Corsair, after building my first PC the ideas I have in my head that would make things SO MUCH easier and better could make a lot of money!
Just bought three 3 packs and a single pack. So expensive 😭 I was thinking about doing a dual color design, so I would probably need to plug in two of the control boxes. Will the L3 connect software control both?

I have all Corsair QL120's in there now but add in the corsair Commander Pro, Corsair Commander Core and a Corsair Node Pro to get them all to work but im switching cases and im not doing all that wiring again. Hello, excellent video. I wanted to ask your opinion about 3 fans, since I am undecided between the lian li sl v2, the al v2 or the sl infinity I would really appreciate your opinion about it. Greetings!
As a tip - you can ALWAYS tell what side is the intake side by looking at the fans. The side of the fan that air is sucked in on will always be the face of the fan blades, the side that exhausts the air will always be the side with the brackets that hold the core of the fan. They can't make the fan float, so if you are looking at the "X" on the fan, air is coming out of that side.

There are two additional ports on the controller for the SL120 INF fans for connecting the ARGB of those fans (or other non Lian-Li ARGB devices). However, I believe the power/control for the SL120 fans themselves would then need to be plugged into fan headers on your motherboard.
