      Mr Prawn I was wondering if you could help me. I am currently trying to attach the galahad radiator to the bracket of the lian li O11D Evo and the screws were really hard to screw in when attaching the fans, but seem impossibly bigger than the holes when attaching the bracket to the radiator with the screws provided.
      Is this normal and will I need to really.force those screws in or has something gone wrong with the manufacture of my product? Feels like I'm breaking it if I try to force them in and I'm not even sure they'll go in, but every video I see they just screw them in like normal screws and I'm losing my mind 😅.

    One important note regarding connecting the Lian Li connector the the breakout connection on the NZXT Kraken (at approx 18:50):
    You do not want to connect to the last connection in the daisy chain (as you did), you instead want to connect to the first one. If you look at the breakout connection on the NZXT Kraken, only the first of the three has all four pins. The tach pin is missing from the other two headers.
    If you hook up the connection as shown in this video, your Kraken controller will never get an accurate report on the speed of the fans. It is set to automatically assume all 3 fans are the same and have the same (or close enough) tach readings, but without that first fan plugged into the first plug with the tach pin you will get improper fan speeds that can cause heat transfer issues or even potential fan damage from spinning beyond their rated RPM.

      I am planning to keep the 3 fans from NZXT and 3 from Lian li on that rad.
      Can I connect the fan speed controller to the CPU fan header in the montherboard ?
      So for Lian li fans, rgb goes to hub and power connection to CPU fan header on montherboard.
      For NZXT fans, the rgb goes to montherboard header and the power as well to Optional CPU fan header on montherboard.

    • @ADraised

      @@_robyn_ did you find a answer for this I plan on doing the same …

    • @_robyn_
      @_robyn_ ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ADraised Yes I have already built the system.
      Initially I connected the Lian li fans RGB to Hub and Power to Montherboard.
      That allowed montherboard (Asus) software to control the Lian li fans. Although Asus software rarely bother to spin up the Lian li fans so I connected them back to Hub.
      So both Rgb and power goes to the hub. I control them with the L-Connect and keep them in quiet profile.
      As for the NZXT fans, you can connect them on the connectors provided on the pump unit and control them with NZXT Cam. Again I have kept them in quiet profile.
      Temps on 13900k while gaming stays in 50-65*C range while keeping the system quiet.

    And which fans should blow in which direction if I use the NZXT H9 Flow Case?

    Hey there. Great series of Vid on these. I have a couple of questions.
    1) It looks like your case it the lian li dynamic? Can I plug the RGB for the front LED strip built into the case into the Lian Li controller?
    2) If I plug the controller into the RGB header on the motherboard, in this case Asus, I assume I won't have the ability to control the RGB of each fan individually through amory crate? Its basically what it says, Aura Sync? Everything is th one color, you can't have waves going throughthe case where each individual fan lights up one after the other?
    3) If I plug the controller into the PWM fan header on the motherboard, in thise case the Asus, I assume I won't have the ability to control the speed of each fan individually through the Asus Software?
    3) I assume the Lian Li software can't control the RGB on the Asus mobo like icue can?
    I am trying to cut down on the amount of RGB/Fan control apps. I already have Synapse running and would prefer to just have one more, eg Armor Crate or Lian Li's.

    holy smokes dude, thank you for this video! I'm doing my first build since 2017 and the fan situation is more complex than it was 6 years ago, especially with controllers and rgb and AIO coolers on the scene. I've got the lianli infinitys and trying figure out the best solution for hooking these all up, including replacing the kraken 360 stock fans with the infinitys. YOu've cleared it all up for me. Much appreciated! btw are you sure you're not the internet historians brother?

  • @ViciousXUSMC
    @ViciousXUSMC ปีที่แล้ว

    Think I will do a full set of AL V2 fans for the next build, case and 2x AIO and the new hub makes hooking up fans really easy, but then once you want to ensure CPU/GPU AIO has the right control it gets sketchy.
    The software can drive them from the hub based on CPU/GPU temp and that might be great, but then you have to trust that hub and software to run the fans, and I wonder what happens in bios, or with an OS that doesnt run the software.
    So you might want to run those fans off the headers on the motherboard for hardware control instead. But then you lose all that easy setup of the hub by having to split/break everything up.
    So with the pass-thru from the hub to the motherboard that goes to a fan header and RGB header if using the single cable connection, do those work full time in passing thru motherboard info in those situations that the software is not running? Else I will just do what you did in the last example and use the break out cable to the AIO fan control and a Sync port.
    The loss here is a Sync port is not a group that can be individually controlled in the RGB software.

Is this cable for sale separately? I hope you can help.

    your guides are always great to watch and a big help building up a new system. i have a 011 dynamic evo xl case with an additional led lightstrip on the front of case. i will mount 10 lian li tl 120 fans. which is the maximum number of fans the lian li controller can handle. will the controller still work when connecting the led lightstrip from the case to port 4 of the controller or is it better to connect that on the motherboard directly?

    Thank god for this video. Your soothing voice actually helped me a lot and prevented me from ripping out my hair. Just one question. I am doing the setup with the triple pack Lian LI SL120V2 fans and the NZXT Kraken Z73 AIO. I do not have the two pronged cable that connects with the SL120V2 fan and on the other end to RGB and PWM. So I need to purchase a single SL120V2 fan in order to do this? Lol.

    • @TheProvokedPrawn

      You don't necessarily have to. You could just plug them into the control box still. But speed won't be determined by the motherboard. It'll work still.

    your video helped immensely! thank you! IDK why your SL infinity fans different than mine.. my fans only have the connection that you can slide over the top and only go directly to the 4 ports, they can't connect into the other fans other than through connecting them together as a single unit, I don't seem to be able to connect two, and a third with a different cable. Nor do I seem to have any of the cables to use the sync 2/4 ports..
