Power supply is probably only relevant to those people using lots of controllers and fans. BUT the suggestions regarding the USB hub is genius. Most of us have far too many USB devices, connected externally, but we don't know which internal USB line they are running from, and if it has enough power.
Hi Julie Fisher, welcome back. Yup, I have tried using usb splitters which does not have sufficient power and due to the fact that most PC users uses too many usb devices. This will cause intermittence or even unable to recognise the device. That’s why I choose to use an internal usb hub which is powered by the psu sata directly. Btw am using the NXZT internal hub.
This was super helpful! Just swapped out my Corsair LL120 fans for Uni SL120 Infinity fans yesterday. Night & day difference in quality! And the amount of wiring is about a fourth of what it was. Very happy about that! But this video gave me some tips that I didn't think about or was unsure about, so thank you!
Hi TravD23, welcome to my channel and am glad you like the content of this video. I have a series of these Lian Li argb stuff which might interest you th-cam.com/play/PLEW-b-2vYDdPo0NzHyeksx012c-nkDapm.html once again thank you for the visit and all the best with your PC build 👍
@@NoOne-qc5fn Definitely worth it for me. As stated above, it cut my wiring down to only a handful of cables. They also perform well (temps have been solid) and look amazing. So for me, it is absolutely worth the change.
@NoOne-qc5fn not as easy at it seems. It's a pain the ass and wish I didn't undo all my good cable managing I had with my QLs I plugged everything up and the l connect 3 doesn't even detect my fans
I've just installed 9 Infinity fans to a new build. On boot 3 connected fans are running full blast which i cant slow down. I have tried everything i can think of, from software to physical connections, but cant slow these 3 fans down. If anyone has any ideas then id be very grateful. This video is so informative for someone inexperienced like me. It feels good to watch a video and learn something for a change. Well done sir.
Hi weaselinjeans, welcome to my channel. If you just plug everything in and can't get it to work. try the steps I have shown you in this video. do one thing at a time. first thing is to get your L-Connect 3 to be able to response with the CPU and GPU temperature. run the benchmark. you see, if you do it step by step, this ensure on the connection and the communication between your motherboard to the controller. Alot which I have aidded, all told me did my steps but when I find out.. it's not exactly the steps they follow. Ended up I have resolve their issues via conference call. telling them exactly what to do. my method as in step by step is to first, ensure the controller is communicating with your motherboard first. then next will be the update firmare. Anyway I hope you will resolve your issue soon. thank you for the visit and to have leave your valuable comments.
@@KleoYan thank you very much once again. When I get home this evening I will work through your tutorial, step by step, and let you know how I get on. Thanks again for the rapid response to my question. Keep up the great work 😊
Another excellent video, I do have an issue with L-connect 3. I've tried different methods but failed. Your tip on even power distribution have solved the problem. Thank you Kleo, you are awesome as usual.
Very informative instructional video Kleo. I own 6 Lian Li UNI Fan AL120 , 3 Lian Li UNI Fan SL-INF 120 RGB Infinity Mirror Fans , 2 LIAN LI Strimer Plus V2 ,and the Lian Li Galahad AIO 360 RGB UNI Fan SL120 with 3 Lian-Li controllers in my ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO and now I understand how to connect every component together with the NZXT Internal USB Hub 3. The only problem is I own Corsair Dominator platinum RGB ddr5 ram that doesn't sync with the L-connect 3 software so I use the Asus motheroard plug to bypass L-connect 3 and every component syns with Asus Amory Crate. Thanks for a great channel !!!
Hi Jim Hamilton, welcome back, yup there are still other argb stuff which I am not able to resolve as I have tried writing in to Corsair and NZXT for sponsorship. But none replied, that’s why this vid title is meant for all pc builders using lian li products. Nevertheless thank you for your support👍
Your videos have been very helpful and greatly appreciated! I have just built a system using several Lian Li products, and initially I couldn't get the SL V2 controller to show up in my device manager, and following your instructions I was able to get it to work perfectly. I also have a Strimer V2 cable, and that has worked great from the start with L-Connect 3. My last issue, is that I have purchased the Lian Li Lancool 216 RGB version case. I have 6 SL V2 Uni fans - 3 of which are on a Lian Li Galahad 360 AIO. I hooked up the PWM header from the SL UNI fan controller to my CPU_FAN header. I'm not sure if this is optimal, but everything seems to be working fine, and I can control all 6 of the UNI fans with L-Connect 3 (both PWM and RGB). The issue I have now remaining, is the two 160 mm RGB case fans that came with the 216 case. I opted for the AGRB controller accessory, which is just another USB 3.0 port hub, and has some mode and color buttons to control the RGB on these fans. I thought this would be fine, but I've found every time i power off and on the PC, these fans revert back to rainbow RGB - which is really annoying. The case came with a fan controller for the case fans, but to my surprise (and dismay) Lian Li didn't integrate this hub for use with L-Connect 3. What is up with that?? My goal would be to have all the fans and RGB controlled by the L-Connect software. The PWM control of the case fans is working fine using the ASUS armoury crate fan xpert software, so I'm fine with that. But is there a way to get the RGB of the two front case fans to sync with the rest of the RGB fans using L-Connect 3? I asked the question to Lian Li tech support, and they didn't give me any instructions but sent a link to a ARGB cable kit. The only thing I can think of is to use an adapter from the 5 V ARGB connector from the case hub to connect to the sync port on the UNI SLV2 controller. I just am not sure if this is what they meant. I did use the RGB cable from the Galahad AIO RGB to one of the sync ports and that does seem to work with L-conect 3. What do you think?
Hello Kinegos, welcome to my channel, I will get back to you on this as it's pretty late at my end, need to catch some sleep, but will reply you in my morning. Thank you!
Hi Kinegos, what your have mentioned about the Lancool 216 case fans. You are absolutely correct. Here is a diagram which will aid you imgur.com/PrPqFBt (download the picture if it's too small), btw, the converter is part of the lian li argb kit which you have bought.
@@KleoYan Hey Kleo! I wanted to follow up as I finally got the Lian Li ARGB Device Cable Kit which had the adapter cable I needed as in the picture you kindly linked in your comment. I'm happy to say it is working great now with the only small annoyance that every time I reboot I have to press the mode button on the 216 accessory RGB interface for 3 seconds to hand control over to the L-Connect app. It's still better than what I had before, but Lian Li really is puzzling that they make this new case with RGB controls but don't integrate it seemlessly into their own RGB software right out of the box. But really appreciate your help! Now I have about 10 cables I don't need as I just used the one cable out of this kit. 😂
@@Kinegos Hi, welcome back and am gald you got everything sorted out. That's one of the down side not only in Lian Li 216 argb controller. it happens to most physical controller which has a remote control. If it's software based, then you won't have this issue. This physical controller on the case do not remember the Mobo settles, you have to toggle it.
Great video. All of your videos have explained the entire Lian Li fan ecosystem. As a recommendation, it would be nice to see how to integrate it with the Lian Li Lancool iii. For example, how to tie in the front ARGB fans, motherboard integration, etc.
Hello Iron Condor Simulation, welcome back, let me see what I can do about your request later as currently am waiting for Arctic's 420 liquid freezer to reach me. once again thank you for your suggestion and to have visit my channel.
@@mariopro519 hello and welcome to my channel. The lancool III fans have the similar argb 3pin Jst03 plug where you can plug to any argb port or fans in a SL or AL controller. But for the SL infinity controller. You can only plug the argb to sync 2 or sync 4 port. The fans you need to plug directly to the motherboard fan header.
That video helped a lot or brought me to the solution based on issues i had with L-Connect 3.... So, i'm running an Asus Dark Hero VIII (X570), 5900x in an O11 XL Case. When i built the pc, i was running Lian-LI SL Unifans (infinity were not released back then). Controlling the Fans through L-Connect worked fine for L-Connect 1/2... However, even after upgrading the FW of the Controller, L-Connect 3 was never working... while L-Connect 1/2 didn't cause issues. I upgraded some parts 2 days ago, replaced the Galahad with a Kraken z73 and the SL Unifans with the newer Infinity ones (which also come with a newer controller). However, L-Connect 3 still didn't seem to work - but to controll all the lightning options of the infinity fans you need L-Connect 3. Was driving me mad after x amount of reboots, bios update to the newest versions, disconnecting the pwm and only running per USB etc. My Windows Installation has some legacy, so i reset/fresh installed win11 to be sure no ghost driver stuff or whatever causes issues, nothing really worked though... In the End it was all about USB Power... I have a 4k Aorus Monitor which has a built in KVM connected via USB.... Seems this have drawn a loooot of power from the mainboard and was causing the un-resposivness of L-Connect 3... As soon as i disconnected USB devices 1 by 1 and all of a sudden l-connect 3 started to work, I found out what devices have been causing the issue... So again, thanks a lot for the hint in terms of usb power distribution and to look into that, which lead me to the solution :-) I still find it funny, that i never had issues with l-connect 1/2 though compared to l-connect 3.... That's kinda strange that the issues were not present on prior versions... I can only imagine, that l-connect 3 draws a lot more power from the controller due to all the built in monitoring measurements l-connect 3 is doing from the controller which draws more power? At least this seems the case...
Hello Tino Burkhalter, welcome to my channel. yes one of the issue is with KVM switch or the build in KVM on a monitor.. I had your issues back then and did talk about it. However there are still issues for some peeps as they did not do the primary test or check. I know L-Connect 3 is fussy but once you narrow down the issue. it will work swiftly.I am gald you have solve your issue. once again thank you for your visit and your valuable feedback. 😉
So dumb to need so many controllers to do some led lighting. It's like mixing 20th and 21st century tech. Should be 1 controller, and 1 software to control everything. Esp for the price.
@@micspamgod2324 welcome to my channel. Thank you for your feedback, I have sent this feedback to Lian Li and it will be great if you can highlight this at Lian Li's Reddit forum. www.reddit.com/r/lianli/
I am really irritated that I have spent soo much money and it took us hours searching on web how to connect, AIO and fans. And then you find out you need hub. Which is not shown on any manual.
Hi forcedcobra, welcome to my channel. I would say yes it's a big headache but I believe Lian Li is going to come out with a controller that will enable you to plug all the different type of uni fans to a controller. Will have to wait for them to implement it.
I only see a TAB for SL-Inf, but not TL-LCD. I do have the controller all plugged in. It detects it in other areas of the software. I can change what is display on the screen and change the fan settings, just not under Fan / Pump Profile.
Hi Crypto Johnny, welcome to my channel. Yes it will be perfect if you only use Lian Li's argb ego system. If you add on other argb devices, thats where things starts to get complicated.
Thank you very much for your video. I bought the denier lian li galahad ii 360 trinity sl-inf. I am in Full Corsair. But I wanted to change brand. So I took out my Corsair AIO and put in a Lian li AIO. But I've kept my Corsair QL series for the time being. So I have L connect and ICUE at the same time. No problem for the moment. I'm waiting for my Uny fan revers :) I was wondering why my Lian li peripherals were appearing in my taskbar. But when I saw your video, apparently everything's fine because you've got it too. With Corsair nothing appeared. I also use the NZXT. On the other hand, I don't know why I get a little loading in the background every 5 minutes. If I cut L connect I don't get it anymore.
Hi Protect_Dreams, welcome to my channel, thank you for your valuable feedback. Now as for your background process, this I am not able to answer you but I do know that all argb programs make use of one common shared IRQ, which ended up applications might just grabbing for permission grant, this could be one of the cause.
Thanks for mentioning the different controllers. Me trying to plug an SL-INF reverse fan into a controller didn't work for me. Looks like my best bet is it is the wrong controller. Lian Li has great products. Terrible in showing how to connect fans, and what is required.
Been driving me nuts trying to figure out ways to connect my V1 to my mobo turns out it’s just cuz I have the manual V1 guess I’ll go ahead and get the V2 box thank you !
Hi TPW, welcome to my channel and you are most welcome.. I am just like you a PC builder and wanting answers with the help from Lian Li Tech Support that is.. advantage is. Once again thank you to have visit and to leave your feedback, all the best with your build too. 😉
I added lian li rgb cables and it worked but my lian li fans suddenly turned off it’s light even though the fans are working but there is no rgb and the lian li software only shows the strimer cables. Is the problem because of the installation of the fans on the case?
Hi Fay, welcome to my channel. Did you look in device manager to see if your uni fan controller shows up? if not you will need to fix it. follow the content closely and you should be able to resolve this.
Great video, would have saved me some time when I started with the Lian-Li fans and software. Is there a way to control the RGB effects so they continue from one set of fans to another on the entire controller? I only manage to change it within one "bank" of 4 fans.
Hi Mikael Bäckström, welcome to my channel. For this you will be able to control the pattern within the Lian Li argb products as they are cater for only the uni fans and strimer plus in L-Connect 3 (Quick Sync Lighting). If you are talking about having your rams and GPU, that's not possible. Once again thank you for your compliment and feedback.
Hi Kleo! Really great videos as I am trying to troubleshoot my rgb case but none seem to have worked for me in terms of Lian Li's Dynamic Evo case RGBs, not sure if you have come across this issue before? Thanks!
Hi Hikyubeast, welcome to my channel. Maybe list down what are the lian li argb products and to let me know what kind of liquid AIO or air cooler, inclusive of your motherboard you are using. Then I will try to help you out. if you need to show me pictures, you can send to my email @ godzylatech@gmail.com
Great video👍! I do have one question if you can help me: can I connect 2 L-connect-3 hubs (3 fans in each controler) and a strimer v2 hub (24-pin cable and 8-pin gpu cable) into a single ARGB header on the motherboard with a splitter? Or would that be to much for the header?
Hi Sebastian Oana, welcome to my channel. Yes you can do that as all the argb devices are drawing current from it's controller. Just make sure that the sata source are plug to your various lian li controllers.
been searching forever for someone to explain how! finally someone explains in details, one question though, can i connect lian li galahad aio to the unifan controller?
hello blaydemastah, welcome to my channel, the argb connector of the Galahad pump, you can connect it to the uni fan controller but for the pump connector, kindly connect it directly to your motherboard fan/pump header.
@@KleoYan ah thank you! Also one more question, can I connect the strimer v2 controller to the unifans controller? Or will I have to connect the strimmer controller to the motherboard?
Really nice video! I will install soon several tl lcd + normal ones so if i understood everything (i am French :D) i dont need to use pwm and argb 5v ports because usb will do the job if i go through Lconnect3, right ? Thank you very much
Noted on not to mix & match. But can I have 120mm TL and 140mm TL connected to a single TL controller? I'm not sure if fan size matters for controller even though they're of the same TL fans. Very informative vid!
Hi Peter Joy, welcome to my channel. So long your daisy chain set is to one port, you will not have an issue. Example Port 1 are all 120mm TL fans and port 2 are all 140mm fans. Not forgetting once you have done that, go to your L-Connect 3 app and set the fan profile for 140mm to it's 140mm profile.
@@peterjoy1713 you are most welcome. All the very best with your build too. hmm maybe this might aid you further as a number of my viewers benefit from it. Hi, I’m experiencing some issues with my Lian Li SL fans and strimers. The fans are functioning, but the RGB lighting isn’t working for either the fans or the strimers. Additionally, my PC cannot detect the controllers in Device Manager, despite my efforts to update the BIOS and chipset. All devices are connected to the motherboard, perhaps I need a USB hub? I’ll be trying that out and hoping for the best! 😭
Hi ceejay, welcome to my channel. Maybe for a start, detacth the Stimer plus v2 controller from the USB 2.0 header of the motherboard, test out just with the fan controller connected. Narrow down one controller at a time. See if it's due to insufficient power issue on the USB 2.0 header. btw what motherboard are you using?
Thank you! I’ll give that a try. I have all the fans connected to the Lian Li controller, including the AIO, since I switched the NZXT fans to Lian Li for the radiator. I plugged the Lian Li controller (which has a 4-pin fan connector) into the CPU header. Is this correct, or should I connect it to a different fan header? I’m using the Z890M AORUS ELITE WIFI7 ICE motherboard. Update: Yay! It finally worked! Following your advice to get the USB hub solved the problem. I guess the splitter didn’t provide enough power. My PC can now detect the controller, and everything works perfectly! Thank you! I'm glad I found your channel.
Could you do a video or answer if you can connect additional rgb products to the Lian Li controllers? If someone has a non-lian li aio with 2 or 3 rgb fans (which means up to 4 possible rgb cables because older systems don't daisy chain), for instance, can you make Lian Li L-connect control them? What is the capacity, if able, of Lian Li controllers to control other rgb products? Thanks for this immensely helpful video. Every other video I looked for only talked about individual products and didn't really touch on combining multiple products.
Hi Christopher Chapman, welcome to my channel. As for non lian li argb products, you can plug but with a limitation. 1st the argb effects might not react the way you want it. 2nd you will need a coverter for it. same applies to argb strips you need the converter. I have a playlist of these lian li argb products which you might want to watch. th-cam.com/play/PLEW-b-2vYDdPo0NzHyeksx012c-nkDapm.html kindly note of the Dos and Donts video.
Hi Luis Enciso, welcome to my channel. do you mind to list down all your components that you are using. like motherboard and what lian li argb devices are you using. without those, I can't aid you.
This video is awesome ! one question though with the new lian li infinity hub and the new strimmer v2 hub can we do the same method of linking them with the arbg cable kit? I have all the cable just need to know if it is ok to do still? So I can control both with L Connect 3? Or is a usb hub needed?
Hi Anthony Lowe, welcome to my channel. Both has a controller. You will need additional USB header will do. If you choose to plug the strimer plus together with the uni controller, it might not work as in, the strimer plus will not reflect on the L-Connect 3 dashboard, therefore you lose the argb patter effects.
Hi again Kleo, I had a question on how to connect the lian li uni fans sl infinity to my motherboard, I’m using an MSI Mag b550 wifi max motherboard and it only has 2 argb headers. One at the bottom of the mobo and 1 at the top i plan on using the galahad 2 trinity on the side of the case which is the lian li o11 vision, 3 fans at the bottom and 2 on the rear as exhaust, i need help as to how im going to connect these fans into the argb headers on the motherboard and have no clue. Would there be an option of not plugging these in at all and still having the fans rgb with the lian li l-connect 3 or is it mandatory to plug all of these fans in. Sorry if this is long im just very very confused and this is also my first build.
Hi Fisnik Hoxha, welcome back. Your Uni fans on the Uni controller, you do not need to plug it to your motherboard ARGB header. You can use the L-Connect 3 app to control the Uni fans. So that will save your issue.
I have 10 SL-INF fans. 3 top fans for AIO, 3 in front, 3 side and 1 in the back. Now if I connect all of them to 1 controller... do I have plug the controller into SYS_FAN? I understand that top AIO fans will not turn on until I'm booted into Windows. I kind of wish them to turn on when PC is turned on. What are my options?
Hello Ivo Kurzemnieks, welcome to my channel. as what you've mentioned, you can choose to use the L-Connect 3 to control the RPM and argb, you need not have to plug anything to the motherboard fan header, unless you wanted to control the RPM via your motherboard UEFI or it's utility software. as for the boot up, there are no other options, you will have to load to windows inoder to kick start L-Connect 3.
Hi Kleo, I'm about to start building my PC using an ASUS Z790-Pro MB, with all Lian Li fans and an AIO cooler. My question is about Aura Sync and enabling the Lian Li fans to use Aura sync, rather than L-Connect 3. Is that possible through the L-connect 3 settings? Thanks, Mark.
Hi Mark Howell, welcome to my channel. Yes you can do that, you will still need the Uni control and L-Connect-3 though. Also make sure to connect the 3pin 5V ARGB cable between the Uni controller to your motherboard ARGB header. Once you did these, in l-connect you have to set sync to motherboard under Quick/Sync lighting menu and enable sync to motherboard.
That is exactly what I need to know. In my case, I will have 2 controllers, 1 for a 3 pack of fans, and 1 for the AIO, so as long as both of those are connected to an ARGB header, I should be good? Thank you for the quick reply, I appreciate it.@@KleoYan
Hey, what would you recommend my RPM to be at? I built a PC and just noticed my quiet RPM was 1200 so my fans were always loud. So I changed my base RPM to 800 now, but not sure if it automatically speeds up when the GPU / CPU hit higher temps. What would be a good RPM for certain temps? Just don't want my computer getting too unnecessary loud. I have 9 SL V2 vans in at the moment. Also which line is better curved or straight to change the RPM? Thanks!
Hi Jesse, welcome to my channel. In general from temperature 30 to 55. I will run 900 to 1k rpm. From 55 to 70 I will run 1k to 1.2k rpm. From 70 to 85 I will run 1.2k to 1.5 k rpm and from 85 to 100 will be at 1.5 to 1.8k rpm.
I have the 12vhpwr v2 strimer and the 24 pin v2 strimer. Problem is i cant even get them to light up or even show up in l-connect 3. Are they not compatible?

Hi DailyUplaods4950, welcome to my channel. Maybe can you list down what are the device you are using? without detail information, I am not able to advise you on anything. are you having SL AL uni fans? did you get them in triple pack that comes with the controller or single pack without a controller or did you purchase the strimer plus v2?
Hi, I bought 3 lian li fans, the first is a Lian Li UNI FAN SL-INFINITY 120 RGB (No controller included) and the other two are Lian Li SL Infinity 140mm (Without Controller). I connect the fans to the following fan hub: "Thermalright ARGB Fan HUB", that hub is connected to my B650E-F motherboard. The fans work, they turn on the default RGB, but in the L-CONNECT 3 program the fans do not appear so I cant control the RGB and RPM. What did I do wrong? What I can do? all the best.
Hi lain, welcome to my channel. Lian Li uni fans do not work this way. You need to have its own Uni controller/hub to work with L-Connect 3 application, as there are specific firmware on the Uni controller/Hub. You can’t just use other brand hub.
@@KleoYan I understand, but if the uni fan-sl-infinity I bought them separately which means they didn't come with the controller, what option do I have? Hi adz_khr, welcome to my channel. I would advise you to do this. - Uninstall L-Connect 3 app, using revo uninstaller, ( www.revouninstaller.com/ ). Revo uninstaller will remove all unwanted files / folder / registry in your system. Illustration to use revo uninstaller th-cam.com/video/uMgUYiakpxM/w-d-xo.html - Next turn off your pc and do the connection as listed below. a) Connect your daisy chained 3 x TL LED fans (Radiator Top) to port 1 b) Connect your daisy chained 3 x TL LCD fans (Side) to port 2 (TL LCD fans will only work from port 2 to port 4, it does not work with port 1) c) Connect your daisy chained 3 x TL LED fans (bottom) to port 3 Once you have done the connection above. Boot up your pc, check on device manager to see if you are able to see the TL Controller listed under Universal Serial Bus Devices. Next install L-Connect 3 app, check for firmware updates. Test your fans and TL LCD again.
The effects on the strimer L-connect is different than the one with buttons. I like the effects on the older strimer. But it is not available on the newer one and hopefully software update will fix that.

Only problem I’m having is the high CPU usage due to the L-Connect. Also is it normal for the fan to be shown as a removable device in the taskbar tray?
Hello Hanies, welcome to my channel. High useage of CPU can be caused by alot of resources sharing the same IRQ as the usb devices you have used or it could be other causes like background apps that make use shared program code that interfer with your L-Connect app. I am not able to tell you which, you will need to figure out yourself. for a start if you have alot USB connecting device, remove them all and slowly plug one at a time so see if it does take up the system resource which is shared with your L-Connect 3 app. (Excluding Keyboard and Mouse)
@@haies09 ok that might be the issue. you have two devices that runs argb program at the background, both are fighting for rigths as both make use of the same IRQ, therefore the conflict might start from there. so something which you will need to take note on... all the best with your troubleshooting.
Both my ARGB header on my motherboard doesn't work (I believe they are gone for good) But with this product i don't have to toss my my ARGB fans, correct? Since this allows me to bypass "Motherboard" for ARGB Fans
Hi AP's Journey, welcome to my channel. the argb cable which is between the Lian Li controller / hub to your motherboard ARGB header is optional. you can don't use motherboard argb utlity at all, just remove that cable and make use of L-Connect 3 app to controller the argb effects which the command is from your motherboard USB header to your Lian Li controller / hub. then to your uni fans.
Hi Bill Felix, welcome to my channel, I am glad this content did aid you. You are most welcome. Thank you for your feedback and all the best with your build too. 😉
Hello everyone. I have a Lian Li build case and i added lately a new hydro Lian Li Galahad II. My problem is that i spent a lot of time customizing the rgb strimers + hydro and when i turn on the PC and the L Connect 3 software runs on startup it resets to the default all the rgb settings. Then i have to customize again and again. If i turn off the L connect 3 program and never run the software again it runs smoothly. What should i do guys; Thanks 😊
Hi akis mpitsou, welcome to my channel. I like to check with you, can you launch your L-Connect 3 app, click on Settings and check if Auto-Run on boot and Minizmize L-Connect 3 to system tray at close are enabled. Also when you've done up your profile. you will be able to save your profile by exporting it to a physical file, just go to the dashboard (exmaple effects for your fans or strimer plus), on the top right you should have export and import.. use the export to save your settings and if in the event, it's mess up during operation, you can always import back your settings.
Hello friend, thanks for your message😊. My settings are both enabled as you mentioned with L Connect. I tried a few times to export my favorite RGB custom settings and import when things messed up but it never restored my favs. It always works on default settings. Its like auto syncing everytime. I have customized each strimer one by one with meteor and when the exe runs it restores everything to the defaults. If i use general lighting effects theres no problem. Only with solo strimers customization..
Hello! I’m from Singapore too! Thank you so much for your hard work in making this video~ I would like to ask about the Lianli strimer plus. Can I use L connect or L connect 2 to control the strimers? I have a triple 8 pin and a 24 pin. Both are v1. I have the v1 controller, but it seems like a purely manual controller that I have to open up the case to change the lighting effects, also there are only 7 colours and no gradient rgb effect. If I want gradient rgb, I have to press m1 to pass the control to the motherboard software, in this case I have a asus motherboard that uses armoury crate and the lighting effects in armoury crate are the opposite. That means I can have gradient rgb but I am unable to achieve the lighting patterns of the controller. Is there a way that I can get more rgb lighting effects like by using another software without opening the case every time I want to change the strimer plus lighting effects? I do not have any lian li fans, I only have strimer plus v1 and the v1 controller. When Thank you!
Hi Imogen Infinity, welcome to my channel. You have two choices. 1 is to purchase a Strimer Plus V2 controller. you can refer to these video th-cam.com/video/J76Zyd1GzNA/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/uWNZO2HVgxE/w-d-xo.html. 2 is to try out Signal RGB, this is an application which others are talking about which you might want to search from google or youtube about this app. I myself have not tried this but you can do some reasearch about it.
Hi, thanks for the thorough video! just one quick issue I have, I'm unable to control my fans with L-Connect 3 at all - I only plugged in the standard USB cable + SATA and no response from when I make changes in L-Connect. It's able to acknowledge my controller and fans, so everything is connected. Just not sure why the settings aren't applying from L-Connect.
@@dubchung hi welcome to my channel, did your temperature in l-connect 3 respond when u do some benchmark. If your temperature readings do not move that could be the issue.
Nice Video first of all :) I still got problems tho with my uni fans sl infinity. They work fine and rgb is working but i cant use the blue rgb modes (heart beat, heart beat runaway, disco,...) in the l-connect 3 software. You got any Idea to fix that? Its all Updated aswell.
hi Nico, welcome to my channel. you might want to try turn off your PC, remove the PSU plug for 45 seconds, plug back the plug and turn on your PC. see if that works. if not, have you try reseat the cable between the fans and the uni controller and also the USB connector between the uni controller to your motherboard? if still does not work, do you have another USB Header on your motherboard, try swaping it.

Hello man, great video bro. Can you tell me if I can control the argbs of the lian li infinity fans without connecting the controller to the usb connection, just with the argb connector on the motherboard?
Hi Lucas Duran, welcome to my channel. You can do that with a individual pack. If you get the tripple pack, it will not be possible. If you do get individual pack, make sure not to daisy chianed more than 3 fans to each of your motherboard fan header, as each of your motherboard fan headers have a load limitation.

Hi gan shengkai, welcome to my channel. If you have the convertor, I dont see why not. but do note if you plug your aio pump argb, dont expect to have a specific pattern to it. as what you are connected to on this uni controller are meant for the effects for the uni fans.

@@ganshengkai7060 for deepcool the argb is a standard connector, the uni controller is not. thats why you need a coverter. as for other application to controll, you can do that, but you will still need the L-Connect application installed and to set to by pass, in order for you to use other application to control the argb effects. kindly do not ask me how it's being done on other argb application or controller, as I only focus on Uni fans and it's controller, plus i do not have other controllers to explain. thank you!
Quick question. I'm using this program for my strimer cables but I have a different brand of fans in my case. Is that why I don't have the options to change fan settings?
Hi Kirk Russell, welcome to my channel. you will only get to use the L-Connect 3 application when you have the uni controller, it does not work when other brand fans are just connected directly to the motherboard via the fan header or the argb header.
Hi! I'm kind of new on what pc building refers, i have builded a full ROG pc, but i installed a galahad 360 and 4 SL and 2 strimer plus. I'm having troubles to make the argb works on "mb lightning sync", could anyone give an advice to solve that issue?

If anyone of you have the issues with L-Connect 3 app, below are some troubleshooting steps Basic Troubleshooting steps Disclaimer : Though the chances are very low to brick firmware updates on motherboard and to any controllers. I will not be responsible if you have brick your motherboard or controller. 1) Make sure your motherboard bios is up to date, please check on your motherboard manufacture website, under support > bios and drivers. See if there are issues with USB and do they have a fix. If there are, kindly update those bios firmware version. 2) Make sure your chipset driver for your motherboard is up to date! For AMD will be at www.amd.com/en/support for Intel will be Intel Driver & Support Assistant Intel DSA www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html 3) Remove all argb apps (Asus Armory Crate / MSI Dragon Center / Giga Fusion / Asrock Polychrome). If the brands which I have mentioned, do have a uninstall tool like the Asus Armory Crate, use that, else use Revo uninstaller ( www.revouninstaller.com/ ). Revo uninstaller will remove all unwanted files / folder / registry in your system. Illustration to use revo uninstaller th-cam.com/video/uMgUYiakpxM/w-d-xo.html 4) Shutdown your PC, unplug the PSU cable from your AC outlet. Press the power switch twice to discharge all current that your motherboard is holding. Leave it for 45 second 5) While waiting, please do not use KVM switches. Disconnect all devices that are connected to your motherboard (front / back IO). Leave only your Keyboard, Mouse , Monitor and Ethernet (If you have) connected directly to your motherboard. If your monitor has a KVM build-in, remove the USB cable from your monitor to your motherboard USB socket. If your mouse and keyboard are connected to your monitor, please remove them and plug them directly to your motherboard instead. 6) Plug only one Uni controller or Strimer Plus V2 controller. If its for Uni Fan (SL/AL) use only 3 fans to an output of the uni controller. 7) Plug the power cable and turn on your PC 8) Go to your Device Manager, look under Universal Serial Bus Devices, make sure you see the Lian Li uni / strimer plus V2 controller. 9) Install the L-Connect 3 app only lian-li.com/l-connect3/ (current version 1.3.16) 10) After installation, run L-Connect 3, check under Setting > General > make sure Auto-Run on Boot and Minimized L-Connect 3 to system tray at close are ON. 11) Reboot your system. 12) First thing you need, go to device manager and see if the Lian Li controller is listed, next open up the L-Connect 3 app. Check if there is a need to update firmware to your controller. Go to Settings > Update, under Device F/W version, click on Update Check, download and install the firmware. Make sure the firmware is completed. Do a check on device manager and make sure the Lian Li controller is listed. 13) On L-Connect 3 dashboard, check if the CPU and GPU readings are reacting, you might want to test it using some benchmark programs. If there are reaction, play with the PWM and argb functions. If it does not work, skip step 14) and proceed step 16) 14) If Single controller works, shutdown your pc, connect uni fan set of 3 to your output of your uni controller. Do it small steps at a time to hook up your sets of fans. do not do all in one go. If successful and you have a second controller, proceed small step at a time again. 15) Slowly plug back your USB devices (Headset, Microphone, Printer, USB Capture Card and etc). At any point of time as you add those devices one at a time, if L-Connect 3 become unresponsive. This tells you that there power is insufficient to power up more USB Devices. Whatever USB port on your motherboard, there is a limitation as the current are shared across the board, be it front or back I/O and the internal USB Header. You might need to get a Internal USB Hub that comes with a Sata Power source to the Internal USB Hub. (Disclaimer, buying a internal usb hub might or might not resolve this issue, purchase at your own expenses) 16) If it does not work, report your issues to Lian li Tech Support. There is a in build log ticketing system in L-Connect 3 app. this is what you need to do. Go to Settings > Support > Click on “Download log” place a filename and choose a destination drive to save the log file. Next click on “Report” it will take you to Lian Li Tech Support FAQ. Fill up the form and upload the log which is a zip file.

@@bergdk237 go straight L-Connect 3, follow this video guide, be patience and it will eventually work out for you. also take note on some important points which I've pointed out in this video. Rest will just rush it and rant about it and blaming L-Connect 3 is the cause of it. Infact it's not.. just that the argb IRQ in windows is shared, therefore all argb utilities are fighting for top piority to use the same IRQ which ended up instablity, crashes, delays and many more. Just keep argb application simple and to use suite devices. unlike some which add argb aio pump block, LCD display and such.
@@KleoYan ok thx, it is the only Argb fans ect. I got at the moment, only got RGB ram, rest is not RGB. so it will be very simple for now. I mainly got them to test them out in my current pc to see if I like Lian li Argb fans and software and controller, before I upgrade my system later this year.
I was having issues with getting Lconnect to see the fans. Turns out my NZXT mobo came with a USB splitter, and that was causing problems. Fans still worked at full speed, but no control until I got rid of that splitter.

@@Shepard7 I see, if you look at your uni controller. There are total of 6 port, which 4 of them are labeled as 1 to 4 (7pin socket) and 2 are labeled as sync 2 and sync 4 (3pin socket). As I have mentioned to you, for your radiator fans, use the SL Inf 120 individual pack where the cable is split to 4pin (pwm) and 3pin (argb). Connect the 4pin to your motherboard fan header (CPU_FAN) then the 3pin to the uni controller Sync 2 or 4. This way, you control the PWM using the motherboard instead of the uni controller and control the argb using the L-Connect 3. and to control the argb in L-Connect 3. You will need to have fans connected to port 2 which sync 2 will response to / port 4 which sync 4 will response to. For the rest of your SL Inf 120 (case fans), use the 7pin cable to connect from the fans to the uni controller. So both PWM and ARGB is controlled by the uni controller using L-Connect 3. As why doing this. In the event if the uni contoller malfunction. The radiator fans will only affect the argb effects but not stopping the fans from spinning accordingly to your motherboard pwm settings. This is just a safety measure.
@@KleoYan Thanks a lot, but I didn't get the cables for single fans, I bought the 3 fans set, and I use it for 2 top and 1 rear. So I'm limited here, no USB available slot, that's why I do it. Someone mentioned I can control the ARGB without L-Connect3 software, is that true?
@@Shepard7 Hi I am so sorry, the way I reply you is meants for another viewer. I got confuse with replying comments.. so sorry. ok for your case. if you got the 3 pack set. you have no choice but to make use of the uni controller which require the USB connection to your motherboard. if you are limited to USB 2.0 Header on your motherboard, you might want to get a Internal USB hub that is with the sata power connector, like the NXZT Internal USB hub. nzxt.com/product/internal-usb-hub-gen-3 the second question you asked. yes it is possible without using L-Connect but you will only be able to do this if you buy the individual pack as the cable is not in 7pin but in 3 and 4pin, 3pin argb and 4pin pwm, where you can plug directly to the motherboard Fan and argb header. then use the motherboard utlity to control the argb effects and the fan load (PWM). but make sure you check the load limit of the argb, do not daisy chained more that 4 fans and plug to the motherboard argb header.
Hello Alpha416 Game, welcome to my channel, pardon me. which NZXT Hub are you referring to? Is it the one shown in this video? the NZXT Internal USB 3.0 Hub. if it is.. no issue as power drawn from the uni fans are from it's uni controller and the Strimer Plus V2 from it's controller.

Hey, have you any idea how to resolve an issue with the Lian Li L-connect 3 software that is causing a "gradual" freeze on my entire PC? It's like a lock-up but nothing is responsive. I can't open things or do other things that requires write/read. So if my browser already loaded up a page, I can scroll and continue browsing, but I can no longer see anything new like clicking on a link or part of the page that wasn't loaded will not be loaded. Task manager and other monitoring programs would cease to function and display only the last known result before the freeze. My system clock would also freeze at the time it starts. I've uninstalled the software and haven't had the freeze now. I've troubleshoot this all the way down to the list and narrowed it to either the mobo faulting or something else like software. I came to the conclusion that it was the L-connect 3 that is causing it occur randomly. The software works, I'm able to see accurate reading of the temps and rpms of the fans. I'm able to adjust the RGB of my fans and strimer v2. However if I have that program up, it will eventually gradually freeze my PC. Sometimes it will happen as soon as I finish booting up, when its automatically started up. Sometimes it would go on without it occurring for 10+ hours, or a day or two. It's totally random. All I know is after I've uninstalled the software, its been smooth sailing. I'm using just two Lian Li controllers, the one for the SL v2 fans, 9x and one strimer v2 mobo cable. Mobo is an Asrock X670E Steel Legend, and cpu is a ryzen 7800x3d. My software installation was on the primary OS ssd, which is connected directly to the CPU, not sure if that could cause an issue. Thanks for the help if you could provide. I've looked all over google and so far I've been people describe the same situations but they all have different specs. None of which had proper solutions. My PC was just built almost a month ago just for more info.
Hi ElementXCR, welcome to my channel, after reading what you've gone through and all the troubleshooting steps which you've provided.I like to check a few things if you don't mind. 1) What's the version bios of your X670E Steel Legend? 2) What are the USB devices connected to your system? I do have emails from viewers they are having issues. I told them to update the bios first and follow by reducing excessive USB devices which are connected to their system. you might want to try narrow down this. if it still does not help, I would adivse you to reach out to Lian Li tech support. lian-li.com/faq/
nevermind... the PC froze again after reinstalling L connect 3 then closing the program. I used the bypass cable so the mobos can directly do the fans and RGB without the need for L-connect. And it froze randomly still. I guess there's a much more underlying problem on my PC... Ahh well, thanks for the reply and assistance.
@@ElemXCR you are most welcome. My guess is leakage of current. If you use too many usb devices. That’s the cause of it, as what I have experienced so far

Hi Kleo, after several months, I finally got my whole pc from LianLi :D Everything works perfectly but... Hi Varo Go, welcome to my channel. As device able to be ejected, that's normal as any detachable USB devices will have this function in Windows. on my lower right corner of Windows 11, when I click on the USB Icon, I can select my GA II LCD to be ejected, but of course not going to do that, just let it be. If accidental click on eject, all is needed is to either go device manager to scan for hardware or to reboot your system.
Kleo, I got 10x 120mm Infinity fans from Lian Li. Im covering up my Lancool III with them (replacing the stock case fans aswell) and Im not sure if I get the RGB version of the case. 3 of 10 fans I got with the controller. If I get the RGB case version, will I be able to change the colors from all fans directly from the front of the case as well in the Lian Li software ?
Hi, Daniel Caparroz, welcome back. you can connect all fans to the Uni controller, just make sure the argb cable that is connecting between the uni controller to the motherboard, instead of pluging to the motherboard argb, plug it to the case argb header, not the cable that goes to the motherboard ok. If you want to controll the argb from your case argb button, you will need to set bypass mode in L-Connect 3, then you will be able to use your case argb button to control all the argb effects.
Hi Kleo, thank you for these informative videos. Not sure why my original comment was deleted but hopefully this one won't be. Just a few questions that I wanted to ask - If I'm using a NZXT Z73 AIO to cool the CPU (10 total SL120 fans, 3x 3 daisy chained & 1 non daisy chained), would it be better to connect all 4 of the "separate" fans to the Uni Fan Hub and control everything via L Connect 3? If I were to do this method, the USB 2.0 header from the Uni Fan hub would control all of the fan speeds & RGB via L Connect right? Or should I connect 1x 3 daisy chained SL120s for the AIO/rad cooler to the NZXT AIO itself to control it via the NZXT software and the rest of the 7 fans via the L Connect 3? The PWM cables to control via motherboard is optional but will be connected just in case. Under fan/pump profile (SL-Inf controller01), the stats seem to reflect that Fan: StdSP is at 0rpm but pump: pwm is working around 2500 rpm. All my fans seem to be spinning tho, so im wondering if the reflected 0rpm for fans is normal? or should i be doing something about it? I really appreciate any help I can get HAHAH.
Hi spicykimchi, welcome to my channel. If you have plug your radiator fans to the AIO pump, it should show the RPM. maybe this video will aid you. th-cam.com/video/57cxoeEvQKU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zbHewWJ8ScrGTWb8&t=2486
Hi DpHo888, welcome to my channel. nope you dont have to connect the argb or pwm connector between the hub and motherboard headers. Unless you intend to make use of motherboard utlity to control the fan's pwm and argb effects.
Thanks for the video. I have an issue with my Strimer. I recently installed the 24 pin v2 strimer and the 12vhpwr v2 to my lian li inf hub like you showed in one of your videos. My issue is that upon startup my system RGB from lian li inf fans synch with my motherboard as they should but my Strimers dont do that. They stay in default rgb color. They only synch up with motherboard when i startup L Connect 3. Is there a way to solve the issue? Thanks in advance :)
@@KleoYan i plugged my strimer v2 hub to my lian li inf hub with a splitter. i have 10 fans (3 bottom, 3 side, 1 in the back and 3 up connected with my nzxt z79 aio cooler) all of them connected to the inf hub and now the strimer hub is now connected there too. The only thing i added there too is the NZXT internal usb hub since my motherboard only has two usb 2.0. The AIO and the Lian Li Inf hub is used with the NZXT usb hub. Thank you for your answer. Very helpful great Chanel 👍, just one question pls, I build a pc for a week ago in a lian li 011 dynamic evo, I've got 3 uni fan sl120 on bottom for intake and 3 on the side for intake, I'm using the asus rog ryujin 2 360 AIO, now i ordered another 3 uni fan sl120 want to do a push/pull config with the ROG ryujin fans can you pls tell me where i should connect the fans?
Hi Sergey.Z, welcome to my channel. if it's SL fans and not SL infinity, I will do this. to plug SL fan's PWM directly to your motherboard and plus the argb to the uni controller. In the even if the uni controller fail, at least you know your fans are still running to cool the radiator. as for your ryujin, let it's own controller to control the argb effects.
@@KleoYan thank you very much for the reply, yes right now I've got nothing connected to my CPU FAN or AIO PUMP , should i connect the new sl120's directly to my CPU FAN or PUMP?
@@sergey.z8843 yes you should. As mentioned only leave the argb connector to the uni controller. The rest like aio pump or fans (rpm) directly to your motherboard fan or aio pump header. This is for safety reason. All the best with your build.

Hello Forested. Welcome to my channel. L-Connect 3 app will not be able to control your SL INF fans with the Uni controller. Unless you don’t use L-Connect 3 app and to make use of motherboard ARGB app, then connect them directly to your motherboard and please take note of the ampere when you do that. Check your motherboard menu what’s the max load for ARGB and Fan load of each header.
@@KleoYan Hello, thanks for your reply. My motherboard is the Gigabyte Z790 Aero G. Will it be able to control the RGB simultaneously with it as well? Also, is it okay to buy ARGB splitter extension cables for my fans? (3+3+1+3 cooler)?
@@forested I would advise you to use the Uni controller but if you do not want to. Get a ARGB hub with power supplied from your PSU. Getting an ARGB splitter for the quantity of fans plus your other ARGB devices. The motherboard ARGB header will not be able to provide the ARGB load.
Hello Kleo, I recently updated my L-connect 3 together with my SL120 Infinity fans firmware. But ever since the updates everytime my pc restarts or turn on the L-connect doesn't save my rgb settings and it keeps reverting to rainbow effect each start up. Any clue?
Hi Grizworth, welcome to my channel. everytime you update the L-Connect 3 app, it will first remove the necessary settings and bring back to default. Best way to counter this is to export what you have set, so once you lose your profile, you can import it in. There is an import or export button at your SL Inifinity dash board in L-Connect when you set the argb effects lian-li.com/l-connect3/l3-manual_backup/#elementor-toc__heading-anchor-3
Great video! but I have a question as everytime i startup my computer my sl-infinity will go full blast and the weird thing is that its the first fan connected to the wire the back 2 fans are normal. this only happens when i download L-connect 3. After uninstallling the RGB goes back to rainbow and the RPM is back to normal Do you have a fix for the full blast problem?
Hello Legends ND, welcome to my channel, mine will just go full blast and back to normal for a few seconds. I take it as normal and so sorry to say, I don’t have a fix for this. I can understand it’s annoying. Am going to write in to ask lian li tech about this. If I do get a fix, I will let you know.
@@KleoYan Thank you so much I really appreciate it and maybe you could even make a video on it as I see other people online having the similar problem as me. Cheers!
@@LegendsND16 yup as some of the feedback and comments are about the rainbow and fan blast issues. Let me see what I can do. No promises though. Once again thank you for your visit and valuable feedback 😉👍
@@LegendsND16 if you do that, you can choose to use either L-Connect or the motherboard utility app, not an issue. The only problem I find is that you have to toggle to motherboard mode in l-connect 3 and this will affect the argb effects as it’s taking instructions of the motherboard and not l-connect 3. For this type of scenario, which applies to SL and AL but not the SL inf, I would connect the fan header of the fans directly to the motherboard header and leave the argb on the uni controller. Hmm 🤔not sure if this make sense to you though.
Hi Kleo Yan, I have the old strimmers types (Qty 2) and wonder if I can plug them into a new UNI fan SL-INF 120 controller which has no fans plugged into it, as I want to try and control all my lighting through Connect 3. I already have the Galahad II pump AIO controller in my system but all the ports are full with fans and the pump. Can I use a second controller to run my strimmers? I hope you can help. or should I purchase the new Lian Li Strimer Plus V2 24-Pin ARGB Motherboard Extension Cable and Lian Li Strimer Plus V2 Triple 8-pin ARGB GPU Extension Cable which come with a controller?
Hi Mal Anderson, welcome to my channel. for your case, you will need a strimer plus V2 controller (www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004239607087.html?) and does your motherboard have another USB 2.0 header? normally a board is equip with 2. if both are used up, you will need a USB Splitter (www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005121350909.html)
My firmware won’t update on my SL120 fans I have v1.2 but it says v1.8 is available but says “unsuccessful”, then the device disappears and pops back up
Hi M52, welcome to my channel. I have connected the strimer plus V2 to it's controller which is connected via a USB cable to the motherboard. if you do this correctly, your device manager in windows will show the strimer plus controller.
Hello Dexter Gilapay, welcome back. On L-Connect 3, go to settings where you have the minimise when closing windows. Unchecked that and uncheck auto run. With the l-connect 3 app display still on. Shut down your pc. Boot it up again. Then launch l-connect 3 app. Enable back the two functions and still having the l-connect 3 on, shut down your pc again. Then turn it back on. I did have the same issue like yours and I did that. Give it a try.
@@KleoYan thank you ~ yes, I am just beginning a new white-theme build in a Lian Li case and with Lian Li infinity fans and Strimer. Your video has given me good ideas for how to properly connect those parts. Also a good tutorial on the L-connect 3 software. 👍👍
I know this is a year-old video but I do have one question. L Connect 3 doesn't show my CPU fan speed under the System Resource tab like I see in your video. There's no graph at all other than Temperature and Clock Rate. The "Fan Speed" bar doesn't show at all for me.
Hi The Kontrarian, welcome to my channel. Mind if I ask if you have other argb devices or argb programs running before L-Connect 3. Also just the controller itself. is your windows able to detect the controller, under Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus Devices.. last but not least, can you listen down the PC components in details, else I can only diagnose in general.
@@KleoYan sure thing. Thanks for responding. My setup I have 10 Lian Li SL Uni 120 fans. 3 on top as exhaust, 3 reverse blade on the bottom as intake, 3 reverse blade mounted on a side radiator as intake (NZXT Kraken 360 Elite) and one rear fan as exhaust. I have the Lian Li controller with all fans going through the controller. No groupings daisy chained. 3X3X3X1 into each port of the Lian Li control box. Control box going in a USB header. Not using the separate cable connected to the control box to the motherboard to bypass L Connect 3. My AIO cooler I removed the default fans that came with it and installed 3 Lian Li reverse blade fans instead. The NZXT AIO pump is going into my CPU FAN header. The NZXT AIO has a program NZXT CAM software to control fan RGB and fan speeds. But I’m not using the default fans so no RGB functions or speed control. No other RGB going into the motherboard. My RAM is RGB but controlled by the motherboard. Gigabyte B650 Gaming motherboard does have built in ARGB (Gigabyte Control Center) to control RGB but only the RAM RGB I can alter being I don’t have the Lian Li control box connected to the motherboard with the extra cable. I am controlling all fans with L Connect 3. Only one control box. No strimmer extension cables or additional USB hubs. Device manager recognizes the Lian Li controller. @@KleoYan I will give it a try. I know the fan mode is definitely set to auto in the bios. As far as where to plug in the AIO. On the motherboard at the top I see CPU_OPT, CPU_FAN, and SYS_FAN1. I didn’t see a PUMP fan header at the top like I have seen on some motherboards. However, all the way at the bottom of the motherboard I do see a SYS_FAN3_PUMP. Should it be plugged in all the way down there? I thought it would be rather odd. That’s the only reason I plugged the pump in the top CPU_FAN header at the top. The motherboard is a Gigabyte B650 Gaming X V2 motherboard. If you’d like to see pictures of it.
Hi cookiecook1000, welcome to my channel. It’s good that you asked. Kindly do not do that. Strimer plus draws a lot of ampere, that’s why it has its own controller / hub. As for the 216 fan ARGB. There are no dedicated dash board in l-connect 3 app but you can plug to any Uni controller that has a sync 2 and 4 port.
i am using galahad aio 360, i have connected the fan and rgb wires to the mobo. do i use the controller connection method before i can use the software to control?
hi DX Liu, welcome to my channel. if you are having uni fans on your galahad, it's good to have fan connectors to your motherboard and plus the fans to the uni controller, use L-Connect 3 app to control the argb effects.

Thank you!

My Windows Installation has some legacy, so i reset/fresh installed win11 to be sure no ghost driver stuff or whatever causes issues,
nothing really worked though...
So again, thanks a lot for the hint in terms of usb power distribution and to look into that, which lead me to the solution :-)
I still find it funny, that i never had issues with l-connect 1/2 though compared to l-connect 3....

Hi lain, welcome to my channel. Lian Li uni fans do not work this way. You need to have its own Uni controller/hub to work with L-Connect 3 application, as there are specific firmware on the Uni controller/Hub. You can’t just use other brand hub.

- Next turn off your pc and do the connection as listed below.
a) Connect your daisy chained 3 x TL LED fans (Radiator Top) to port 1
b) Connect your daisy chained 3 x TL LCD fans (Side) to port 2 (TL LCD fans will only work from port 2 to port 4, it does not work with port 1)
c) Connect your daisy chained 3 x TL LED fans (bottom) to port 3
Once you have done the connection above. Boot up your pc, check on device manager to see if you are able to see the TL Controller listed under Universal Serial Bus Devices. Next install L-Connect 3 app, check for firmware updates. Test your fans and TL LCD again.

Hi Eduardo Santos, welcome to my channel. does your SL Fan come with a uni controller? Also which strimer plus version did you purchase? As I need to know exactly which lian li products you are using, else can't give you a proper answer or help.
If anyone of you have the issues with L-Connect 3 app, below are some troubleshooting steps
Basic Troubleshooting steps
Disclaimer : Though the chances are very low to brick firmware updates on motherboard and to any controllers.
For AMD will be at www.amd.com/en/support for Intel will be Intel Driver & Support Assistant Intel DSA www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html
3) Remove all argb apps (Asus Armory Crate / MSI Dragon Center / Giga Fusion / Asrock Polychrome). If the brands which I have mentioned, do have a uninstall tool like the Asus Armory Crate, use that, else use Revo uninstaller ( www.revouninstaller.com/ ). Revo uninstaller will remove all unwanted files / folder / registry in your system. Illustration to use revo uninstaller th-cam.com/video/uMgUYiakpxM/w-d-xo.html
4) Shutdown your PC, unplug the PSU cable from your AC outlet. Press the power switch twice to discharge all current that your motherboard is holding. Leave it for 45 second
5) While waiting, please do not use KVM switches.
7) Plug the power cable and turn on your PC
8) Go to your Device Manager, look under Universal Serial Bus Devices, make sure you see the Lian Li uni / strimer plus V2 controller.
9) Install the L-Connect 3 app only lian-li.com/l-connect3/ (current version 1.3.16)
10) After installation, run L-Connect 3, check under Setting > General > make sure Auto-Run on Boot and Minimized L-Connect 3 to system tray at close are ON.
If it does not work, skip step 14) and proceed step 16)
14) If Single controller works, shutdown your pc, connect uni fan set of 3 to your output of your uni controller.
(Disclaimer, buying a internal usb hub might or might not resolve this issue, purchase at your own expenses)
16) If it does not work, report your issues to Lian li Tech Support.
In what state is L connect 3 today? Do you know if it is running smooth now or is it unstable?
@@bergdk237 Hi, welcome to my channel. so long you do not over add too many argb devices, hubs, controllers, more fans more led strips and such.. it will be rock solid stable. If you asked me, there are only bugs, no instability issues. I get most of the PC builds for my friends or colleagues which works flawlessly without instablity issues. Most bugs are fixed anyway. For info on what are the fixes, kindly refer to the log lian-li.com/L3-changelog/. Also in most of my builds, I dont use motherboard argb utitlies, on top of this. I often make use of ASRock motherboard where you can turn off and on the argb effects within the UFEI / Bios without installing argb application in windows.
@@KleoYan Thanks, I got some AL120 fans(the 3 pack) Should I just go straight to installing L connect 3? Or would it be better to just Install L connect 2?
Hi Qix, welcome to my channel and thank you for sharing your experience with us, greatly appreciated it. Are your uni fans working properly now?
Hey thanks for the video!
at 4:50 I connected the hub to all the connectors, the 5v and the argb on the ProArt motherboard, they work and I can control the fan speed through bios, but, the RGB lightening is not working, any idea why?
Hi Shepard, welcome to my channel, mind if I ask which uni fans are you using?
@@KleoYan Hey Kleo, thanks for your reply I just subbed your channel.
I use the UNI fan SL-INF120 the latest. with the latest hub and everything.
I got confuse with replying comments.. so sorry. ok for your case. if you got the 3 pack set. you have no choice but to make use of the uni controller which require the USB connection to your motherboard. if you are limited to USB 2.0 Header on your motherboard, you might want to get a Internal USB hub that is with the sata power connector, like the NXZT Internal USB hub. nzxt.com/product/internal-usb-hub-gen-3
the second question you asked. yes it is possible without using L-Connect but you will only be able to do this if you buy the individual pack as the cable is not in 7pin but in 3 and 4pin, 3pin argb and 4pin pwm, where you can plug directly to the motherboard Fan and argb header. then use the motherboard utlity to control the argb effects and the fan load (PWM). but make sure you check the load limit of the argb, do not daisy chained more that 4 fans and plug to the motherboard argb header.
hi bro can i use lian li fans and strimmer V2 connected to nzxt hub or will it have power issues

Hi Milan Hron, welcome to my channel. If you do not need to use other ARGB software besides L-Connect 3, you dont need to plug the argb connector from the controllers to your motherboard argb headers. But if you need it.. you can always get a 3pin 5v ARGB splitter as the drawing ampere of all Lian Li ARGB products are through it's controllers.

Hi enduro_mtb, welcome to my channel. You can do that but subject to availability, just make sure to get the correct controller for your Uni Fans.
Lian Li should make V3 consolidate this issue across all their RGB products. People who buy Lian Li fans are more likely to buy Strimer Plus cables like me and the fact they don't consolidate this is a head shaking moment.

That’s the cause of it, as what I have experienced so far
do you use an argb splitter for the 4 different controllers? or do you not need to plug in the argb connector?
Hello Nick Swan, welcome to my channel. If you want to control the argb through your motherboard software, then the argb connector should be in place, else if you want full control by L-Connect 3 app. You do not need to plug the argb connector between the uni controller to your motherboard argb header.
Hi Kleo, after several months, I finally got my whole pc from LianLi :D
Everything works perfectly but... Is it normal that the device manager detects LianLi-SL-Infinity-v1.4 and LianLi-GA_II_LCD_v1.3 and allows to "eject" it?
I have 10 SL-Inf connected to the Galahad 2 LCD SL Inf controller.
Thank you!
Just a few questions that I wanted to ask -
If I'm using a NZXT Z73 AIO to cool the CPU (10 total SL120 fans, 3x 3 daisy chained & 1 non daisy chained), would it be better to connect all 4 of the "separate" fans to the Uni Fan Hub and control everything via L Connect 3? If I were to do this method, the USB 2.0 header from the Uni Fan hub would control all of the fan speeds & RGB via L Connect right?
Or should I connect 1x 3 daisy chained SL120s for the AIO/rad cooler to the NZXT AIO itself to control it via the NZXT software and the rest of the 7 fans via the L Connect 3?
The PWM cables to control via motherboard is optional but will be connected just in case.

My firmware won’t update on my SL120 fans I have v1.2 but it says v1.8 is available but says “unsuccessful”, then the device disappears and pops back up
Hi craigchrist360, welcome to my channel. Try update firmware manually lian-li.com/l-connect3/L3_update_manually/
how did you connect the strimer plus lighting ? it doesn't show to me
Hi M52, welcome to my channel. I have connected the strimer plus V2 to it's controller which is connected via a USB cable to the motherboard. if you do this correctly, your device manager in windows will show the strimer plus controller.
i just installed the latest lian LI RGB fan inifinity the problem is the application after boot wont minimize by itself
Thanks for sharing. 👍👍
Hi John Fraser, welcome to my channel. Glad to be of help. All the best with your build.
@@KleoYan thank you ~ yes, I am just beginning a new white-theme build in a Lian Li case and with Lian Li infinity fans and Strimer. Your video has given me good ideas for how to properly connect those parts. Also a good tutorial on the L-connect 3 software. 👍👍
@@johnfraser6013 I see. Have fun and all the very best with your build too 😉
I know this is a year-old video but I do have one question.
Firmware and Lian Li software up to date. Latest bios on motherboard and Windows 11 Pro.
@@KleoYan I can control all fan speeds, RGB etc with the L Connect 3 software. However, I doesn’t show CPU fan in that window likes yours does. Also it doesn’t show a picture of my uni fans at the top of the speed control like yours does.
@@TheKontrarian on your motherboard UEFI, have you set the fan mode to PWM instead of Auto. that could be the issue. give it a try and on L-Connect 3, make sure the fans you are using are highlighted. It's under settings of your L-Connect 3 app lian-li.com/l-connect3/l-connect3-manual-2/. btw why do you connect your pump to the CPU_FAN? you should be pluging your pump to AIO_Pump hmm.
Can I connect my stimmers to my SL hub? And just use one hub instead of two? Also I have the lian li 216 case how do I get my front fans to sync?
