Honestly you'll be good with it for a long time. Comparing the 14pm with the 6 is a huge leap. You won't feel that difference with the 16pm (I have the 14 PM too)
This was actually the first ever time while watching the event that I was seriously wondering why I'd get the pro over the regular 16. Seems like the only big differences are the cameras, 120hz, and better processor, which I don't really care that much about. So many features came down to the regular models, like the action button, oled, and camera control.
60hz is fine in daily use and it's not the 120hz that is swaying me. It's the 5hrs extra battery life (and better camera, video, processor, camera button...)
I feel like this year the difference between the pro and non-pro models are the closest it's ever been. The chip is also basically the same, the pro only has 1 extra gpu core (6 vs 5 on the non-pro). I feel like most people will be more than fine with a non-pro model unless you really need that 5x telephoto lens. Everything else is minimal in my opinion.
Getting the IPhone 16 Pro because I really like the three cameras. I had the 13 pro max for a 4 years and I felt like it was time to update. Plus, I feel like the 6.7 screen is too big for my hand, so the iPhone 16 Pro would be my go to.

@@archimedes2261 My 13 Pro was great for around 2 years and went to 87% and I replaced it and now after 11 months it is down to 98%. I get around 11 hours internet and around 5-6 hours nonstop gaming so I mean that is pretty good still.

The iPhone 16 series doesn’t feel like a significant upgrade, and it seems like Apple’s creativity has stalled. I plan to stick with my iPhone X (as a secondary phone) for another year since it’s still working fine for me. Perhaps it's time to send Apple a message by skipping the 16 Pro lineup. If they can't introduce any groundbreaking features, the least they could do is make the glass unbreakable and the body scratch-resistant.

I’ve always got a pro max model, but this will be the first time I go for the 16 plus. Majority of the things on the pro max are on the 16 plus base models. Surprising as usually there is massive differences between the base and the pro max models.
You are stronger than me! Even though it is ridiculous of me to spend an additional $300 for a Pro model (i literally couldn’t care less about the camera) I simply cannot give up my 120hz refresh rate display! It’s upsetting that it is 2024 and the base models are still running on 60hz! Hopefully, one day, Apple will surprise us and I would have to pull $300 extra outta my butt 😅
@@callumanthony4445 you can't tell the difference because most of the video content (if not all) you consume is capped at 60fps. Also many ios games are not optimized for 120fps. One of the only practical ways of noticing 120hz is by scrolling through pages or text messages or swiping between ui menus. Not worth it to me and I feel that people make it a much bigger issue than it really is.
If they keep the Macro Photography for another 2 or 3 years, my next upgrade will be the regular iPhone... 60Hz no prob, I set my 15 Pro to 60Hz anyway for better battery life.. Bravo Apple..
Apple focus with the iPhone is as follows: 1. Make AAA gaming available across the whole iPhone range. 2. Bake-in AI and machine learning into the phone. 3. Have the best available camera setup, for its price point, across the whole iPhone range. 4. Bring as much camera pro features as possible to the iPhone Pro range. If you upgrade your phone every 3 to 4 years, you will notice then difference when upgrading.

With the new buttons will tripod mounts work well? The buttons use space for attachment. Otherwise the clamp messes with the volume buttons. That space is gone now

cool they've made the glass tougher. The glass on the 12 pro was unbelievably durable, the amount of slams mine has taken on concrete and bitumen and remained intact is unbelievable. Just wish they'd make the back glass out of the same stuff. The new AI features are tempting but I think I'll keep my 12 pro going for another year.

@@SSukram_ I almost always have my iPhone 14 Pro phone in low power mode and I literally never notice the difference between when it’s restricted to 60hz and when low power mode is off and it’s running at 120hz

No clue what phone to get. I literally have the 13 pro and only need a new phone because the back is falling off slowly, and my speakers are damaged, plus I have a free upgrade available. Fun fact: the bezels on the iPhone 16 Pro Max are about 7% thinner (the smallest) I like the A18, another 48 MP, 6.9 Inches and more

I was a bit disappointed with the announcements honestly.. watch and buds were more of updates and feature add-ons rather than radical innovations.. and why would they still stick to 60 Hz on the iPhone 16.. in 2024 which new phone launch really sticks to 60 Hz and USB 2.0..? that too when they are talking about gaming on it too.. they kept repeating the same AI features from the developer conferences.. sure the new camera control is the one great thing.. but that's it? for professional photographers and film makers sure there's a lot more, but for the everyday users?

Same! Though, I can’t downgrade from 120hz to 60hz (I have a 13 Pro Max) once you’ve had that smooth movement, going back is practically impossible

With the new buttons will tripod mounts work well? The buttons use space for attachment. Otherwise the clamp messes with the volume buttons. That space is gone now

cool they've made the glass tougher. The glass on the 12 pro was unbelievably durable, the amount of slams mine has taken on concrete and bitumen and remained intact is unbelievable. Just wish they'd make the back glass out of the same stuff.
The new AI features are tempting but I think I'll keep my 12 pro going for another year.

I have a 14 Pro Max, so the jump won't be as big, but I'll get USB-C, the action button, the bigger battery, better cameras, much faster chip, and the Camera button, so all in all, not a bad upgrade! Great video Sam! I thought the AirPods Pro 2 upgrades were pretty cool, but I am sure you will agree, the AirPods Max were a total letdown! After 3 plus long years, the best they could do was USB-C and some new colors???? What about upgrading the U-chip or the H-chip?? How about an on/off button? How about about a better case?? How about a better padding system that won't go limp after wearing them for awhile, resulting in iron rods resting on your head??? Ugh! I would love a pair of AirPods Max, but they need to make them better first at that price(which didn't come down).

I wanted to order pro but due to dull color pallete I will not. Basic 16 has much better color options and it's also lighter.

Most people can’t even tell the difference between a 120hz display and a 60hz display. The fact that the display is the only argument you android fanboys have is legitimately funny
Notably, it isn't LTPO. However, the OnePlus 12R is LTPO, and at a comparable price to the iPhone SE, so 60hz is unjustifiable!

Yes u can 100% notice it ive handed 4 of my frens the same samsung running 60hz and then swotched it to 120hz and noticed the difference and it felt better so dont give me anything close to the bs statements @@RachelXKnight666

And still got FaceID (love it- my s23 ultra fps was useless when I wore a glove or it was raining and even Samsung said not to rely on the Samsung face recognition as it was insecure). 6-7 years Operating system and security upgrades.
I'm coming from an iPhone 13 pro (also use android) and it's a no brainer upgrade.
I don't know anyone who upgrades their iPhone every year (help save the planet and your pocket!) so the comments about lack of change are way off- and seem to be repeated by the same people- either seeking to undermine US brands for some reason (Apple did take a notable stand against Putin) or competitors from other countries.
I would buy the 16, but the normal one is to small and the plus is too big. So i am going to go with the Pro as that feels like the right size for my use.

@@SSukram_ I almost always have my iPhone 14 Pro phone in low power mode and I literally never notice the difference between when it’s restricted to 60hz and when low power mode is off and it’s running at 120hz

@@SSukram_ I use my phone 24/7 on low power mode. After discovering that low power mode reduces to the refresh rate to 60hz I legit don’t need one faster than that lol

I’m planning on upgrading from my iPhone 11, but I can’t figure out if it’s worth paying extra for the 16 Pro camera as opposed to just the 16!
