The ability to swipe down anywhere on the home screen to get the notification panel is part of the Samsung UI as well. Your notification sound issue is a little bit confusing you like the idea of being able to set up different ones for different notifications, but you don't have time to set it up??? Also, no matter how far any settings is hide in the settings, you can just search it, and it is there immediately. Also try Swiftkey keyboard as well. And don't forget to change that shat Samsung phone dialer for something much better. Some real T9 search capable one ;)
I had the same problem with NFC like you in the beginning when switching from iPhone to Samsung. I found that the NFC chip is not at the same place as it is on the iPhone, it is more in the middle/beneath the camera. If you hold the phone horizontally instead of vertically which you do now, it wont fail. It doesnt for me anyway.
Ok, so this might sound strange. But I work in the NFC Tech field. And from what I know, most nfc chip receivers in the uk Are running at a lower voltage. And, since the newer, Samsung model phones are using faster and quicker protocols for the. NFC reading, there could be a simple communication issue between the newest Samsung models and nfc chips used in the uk. Hope this helps❤
The thing about the contactless pay in general why it gets confuse. Cause if the system lacks apple pay, Samsung pay and Google pay you may put it on the card reader itself and it may work. Like where you swipe the card it may work.

Watching you try to tap to pay was...frustrating. NFC is basically right under the camera array. Don't just punch the NFC reader with the top of your phone...
I'll be honest, I've had trouble with this phone as well, and my last phone was an Oppo Find X3 which I never had a single problem with. I think the NFC reader on this phone is a bit unreliable.
Probably didn't use the best b-roll clips to show off this feature :D But me swiping in at the gym was with the NFC positioned in exactly the right place. It's not right under the camera array on the S24 series, it's next to them.
User error issues. One specifically the focus issues. Tap on the screen what you want it to focus on specifically, that means you can focus on a foreground or background point and the device doesn't decide for you.
I was a lifelong Android user since the first Android phone that came to market. Last year I switched to an IPhone , and of course there are things I like about apple but..... I miss Android so much. My biggest problem with apple is the keyboard to type on is absolutely atrocious. I am going back asap.
I mostly agree with the issues section. However. I have grammarly installed on my s24 ultra without any outside launcher. Moreover, there's a setting that (when you're on the home screen) you can swipe down from anywhere and get the little menu. Small things like that are already built in which is pretty nice
I love android but I can’t fully switch away from my iPad. I really want to try beeper but I’ve been put in a waiting list. I don’t like the feature on the Apple where it tells you that your password has been compromised because it let me know about 2 or 3 years ago that I had a password that was compromised so I changed it on the say so of that. And I checked later that day and the Google account that I changed the password I didn’t actually need to so I was locked out of that Google account for 3 months
The only thing that keeps me from switching to Android is the photos on what’s app are backup on iCloud, but cannot be moved to android or atleast when I tried couple of years back.
I live in a small town in eastern Finland where we have no support for any phone manufacturer. we once had an official Samsung repair shop for a while, but it wasn't profitable in such a small town and ended up unprofitable.
To the best of my knowledge, NFC is not located at the top of the phone or in the camera. It is placed in the middle of the back of the phone. I have never experienced this issue.
PLEASE try using the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic or Watch 5Pro, they are great offering a lot of fitness features and customization along with syncing incredibly well with your Galaxy phone. My Galaxy Watch 5Pro battery lasts for 3 days and has a titanium case which is really nice.
Under notifications and advance settings under the settings screen. He needs to go over to the option marked "Manage notification categories for each app", Notification categories menu will appear on the notification settings screen for each app.,

Hey pete, pls answer, so do you think picking up the s24 ultra is bettwr over those other chinese brands that brag their cameras? I do have the 24U as well
The problem is this is not realistic. Normal people don’t have thousands and thousands of dollars to switch phones and tablets and computers and watches and earbuds to make everything work right just to switch to another OS.
@@turnbasedtoddy7664 but the thing is, i feel like when you're not in the apple ecosystem, you don't really need to switch all those things at once, because different products will still work well together. Especially earbuds usually work with any phone, no?
The fact that android os can cater to numerous phone brands and still work smooth is something. Apple only focus on a single phone yet can't give a flawless experience.
Honestly, customer support quality really depends on region where you live. In Czechia for example, we have no Apple stores, but many Samsung stores, so I feel the situation would be exact opposite in my area.

Are you using the new rebuilt app? I switched back to iOS this weekend and they’re still on the old one which is horrible in comparison. That said, it’s definitely convenience over features. Beeper isn’t as good as WhatsApp, messenger etc. But it’s convenient to have it all in one place.
Used iPhone for over 6 years every year new model, recently switched to s24 ultra. Using Google wallet an I was surprised how much faster is NFC pay then iPhone. Using s24 1 month now and every time I pay something I would be surprised that it works so fast on more of distance then iPhone

NFC issue: aim for the middle of the phone rather than the top. Probably muscle memory from using an iPhone but I think the location of the chip is lower down in Samsung?
Be careful switching your photo library to Google photos. If you don’t pay then your photos will be compressed. My brother is an artist and he lost a tonne of his old work because he switched from iCloud to Google photos and everything got compressed.
Phone vs phone is one thing. How about ecosystem vs ecosystem? I don’t use iphone because it’s the most advanced tech wise. I use it because it’s consistent, reliable and easy to use. The other big thing is the apple ecosystem; macbook, apple tv, homepod, homekit, apple watch and air tags. How does the equivalent android/windows/whatever ecosystem compare? Is the integration as seamless and easy to use?
I hope everyone will switch to what properly satisfies them. Not everyone needs a Pro/Ultra phone. Not everyone can truly utilize all features specific to an OS.

Hi Mister, I've been hearing a lot that the screen on the S24 Ultra is very grainy- specifically when it's on low brightness in a dark room. I'm very worried that if I purchase one, it will have that issue and Samsung aren't admitting to the quality issue. Since you have two units, would you share your experience? Feel free to Google the issue to see example images and test scenarios yourself. I do hope you see this and appreciate if you do respond 🙏
I got my s24 about a week ago, and have received multiple software updates since. Like 3-4. So far, I'm not experiencing any grainy screen. One thing that HAS happened was the screen was very washed out. It wasn't as vibrant as b4. But after the software updates, not only has it gotten better, but they allow you to control the amount of vibrancy you want. The screen is beautiful.
Considering the same switch-does Ultra, meaning some core android feature or Samsungs one ui feature, offer Hide My Email functionality? I do use that to further secure that my email is not used in many less significant places like various newsletters and such. Is there some easy way to do that in Ultra? Like when opening new web accounts or subscribing to newsletters to use some randomly generated alias which is then linked to main email and some place where you can manage that (delete alias, create new one)? Hide my Email works great in iOS since it does everything for the user, one just clicks hide my email and the email address is automatically generated, linked to main one and used in login field. Any thoughts on that?

Your notification sound issue is a little bit confusing you like the idea of being able to set up different ones for different notifications, but you don't have time to set it up??? Also, no matter how far any settings is hide in the settings, you can just search it, and it is there immediately. Also try Swiftkey keyboard as well. And don't forget to change that shat Samsung phone dialer for something much better. Some real T9 search capable one ;)
Interesting video, since you're wearing an Apple Watch Ultra on your left wrist while recording this video. Did you REALLY focus 100% on Android?
I was thinking the same. Thought it was locked in a box with his iPhone 🤔
He got the Samsung watch on the other wrist. Watch carefully. He wears both
You can find these kind of videos of him with every new model of Samsung or Google for over 3 years...
It doesnt for me anyway.
you taught me soo much about my phone that i never knew about, for example the blox spam calls, I HAAAD NO IDEA I COULD DO THAAT!!! thank you
It does it automatically so it's hard to notice it
That's not even the beginning of features it can do
Some carriers like Verizon block those integrated features and then make you pay a few dollars a month to get it back...
Absolutely love mine. Zero desire to pick up my 15 PM since I've been using it.
I like hearing your opinions about the switch. It's really cool to hear. Glad you are enjoying the phone and sticking with it. 😊
What keyboard are you using? It's just beautiful when you're typing.
For the portrait with the boys I think after you took the picture you can select the objects you want to focus on 🤷🏾♂️
The thing about the contactless pay in general why it gets confuse. Cause if the system lacks apple pay, Samsung pay and Google pay you may put it on the card reader itself and it may work. Like where you swipe the card it may work.

Out of every video I ever seen about switching yours in the only one that might have actually convinced me . Only think keeping off is the idea of having to switch sooo much and change how I do everything.
It's a big change for sure - and definitely not trying to persuade anybody to which phone they should use. It all comes down to personal preference at the end of the day.
I just enjoy trying different phones out and it was fun finding alternatives - if you feel like it's going to be a pain in the backside then it probably will be :)

I found that if you tap the phone lower down. Like middle of the phone it works flawlessly. I think it'd the placement of the NFC chip
Yep. Google password manager
FYI, google does notify users if they see a password has been compromised. It's happened to me in the past.
Super weird question but what keyboard skin was installed at 9:53?
Custom made skin on GoodLock app available at Galaxy store but not pre-installed. It's free though.
What do you do with all of your storage in the iCloud?
And for the ones who can’t switch everything how does my Apple Watch 7 will be with the galaxy?
I love android but I can’t fully switch away from my iPad. I really want to try beeper but I’ve been put in a waiting list. I don’t like the feature on the Apple where it tells you that your password has been compromised because it let me know about 2 or 3 years ago that I had a password that was compromised so I changed it on the say so of that. And I checked later that day and the Google account that I changed the password I didn’t actually need to so I was locked out of that Google account for 3 months
There's no longer a waiting list to join Beeper
Just switched from the iPhone 15 plus pro max to google pixel 8, do you have a review or thoughts on the pixel 8 I like the size for one.

The only thing that keeps me from switching to Android is the photos on what’s app are backup on iCloud, but cannot be moved to android or atleast when I tried couple of years back.

To the best of my knowledge, NFC is not located at the top of the phone or in the camera. It is placed in the middle of the back of the phone. I have never experienced this issue.
NFC is somewhere near the the middle lens of the triple camera. From there then downwards.

18:00 Pretty sure it's up to app developers to implement custom notifications sounds for Android
Under notifications and advance settings under the settings screen. He needs to go over to the option marked "Manage notification categories for each app",
Notification categories menu will appear on the notification settings screen for each app.,
It is, but they did it for iPhone so mad they're not on android too?
Done this already - on the 24 they're hidden under advanced settings and and like the ring example, they just don't work unless you spend ages customising them yourself :)

Just ordered an s24 Ultra after all the content. We’ll see if it’s enough to win be back after 7 years on iPhone. The 15 Pro has been great…
Let me know how you get on, I've always considered giving Android a try again after using an iPhone for a few years.
If any phone's gonna do it, It'll be the S24 Series.
@@PeteMatheson You're right about the Apple eco system locking you in though. I currently have an Apple Watch, iPad, MacBook Pro and an iPhone, so switching is quite difficult, that's the only thing that puts me off.
Yeah we’ll see. The s21 Ultra *almost* pulled me away a few years ago. But with RCS coming, it seems more compelling. I have Watch Ultra, iPad, Macs, HomePods, AirPods, etc. And I use much of the software and iCloud for work and productivity.
@15:10 the nfc reader 'issue' i've had numerous Samsungs, including the S22, 23, and now the 24 ultra, and never had that happen once.
16:37 interesting, here in Latin America I have no issues with NFC put it close to the device, works all the time, also with my Samsung watch
Don't use Samsung keyboard use Gboard. And if you want to occasionally switch to any of those Samsung Smart features you can just simply do that easily. There's a keyboard button at the bottom that you can switch quickly to and from each custom keyboard 👌🏾

I switched back to iOS this weekend and they’re still on the old one which is horrible in comparison.
That said, it’s definitely convenience over features. Beeper isn’t as good as WhatsApp, messenger etc. But it’s convenient to have it all in one place.

How has the general fluidity of the OS been for you? I feel like I get the occasional stutter here and there vs iOS.
It is definitely there but it is not as bad as it used to be. I mostly get them when going out of the camera
