PCs were peaking 10-15 years ago. In the 90s and early 2000s, each upgrade you did every year was exciting, as it brought big improvements. As a 90s kid, I HAD TO upgrade my PC every year. It was pretty much mandatory, the difference was so big, and a 2 year old PC was really obsolete. But in the 2010s and today, using a 10 year old PC causes no issues whatsoever. Laptops followed shortly after. The same thing is happening with smartphones. In the 10 years after iPhone was released, every year brough exciting upgrades on all platforms. Phones became much faster, look much nicer, have much better screen, etc... But they peaked ~5 years ago. Their screen is near perfect, they perform all task instantaneously, so there is nothing really to improve. I often accidentally grab my 5yo Xs instead of 15 Pro, and only notice when I try to call someone and there is no service on it:D
iPhone 12 'completed' the phone IMO. You got ceramic shield which stopped the phones breaking like they used to. The chassis was solid unlike earlier phones (think iPhone 6 bendgate). The battery life lasted all day for the average user (you could choose the 12 Pro Max if you wanted more) and the cameras pretty much maxed out the capability of 12MP shots (which was absolutely fine for detail unless you wanted to zoom super close). Face ID for security (Touch ID as well would've been nice, but meh). A14 Performance which was plenty and they were all IP68 Waterproof. Since then, all of the updates have been iterative, and unless some breakthrough AI feature comes along which people can't live without, I can't see the need for anything more. Edit: AND there was a screen size for everyone!

I have the iPhone 12 mini I was a bit disappointed to see that Apple doesn’t do a mini option now but my 12 is barely holding a charge. I am looking forward to an upgrade and the 16 looks impressive. I’m hoping I can push myself to get more out of the camera. I’m still a point and click gal. 😂
5 years worth and sadly none of them were enticing enough to upgrade from my 11 pro max which made me end up with an S23 and it felt more valuable in both software and hardware
How can you guys stand Android? The Sameung bloatware, inferior exynos chip, inconsistent update schedule and apps going nuts with data mining is crazy. Also the S series are just as boring in terms of design.
As someone who used the iPhone 3g as my daily back in the day (same chip and specs as the OG, just with 3G) it may have had a 60 hz display, but certainly couldn't handle running at a smooth 60 hz. For perspective, it only had a single core chip running at 412 mhz paired with 128 mb of ram. Don't get me wrong, it was still an incredible and smooth feeling experience for the time
Thanks for the comprehensive review! I'm trying to decide between the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. Based on your experience, which would you recommend for someone who [Specific Need, e.g., prioritizes portability, needs excellent battery life, values the larger screen]?
Hear me out. I’m currently on iphone 7 and it has been good until today. The only thing that made me want to upgrade is because one of my fav app is not updating anymore. 😂 And I need solid reasons and help for me to choose. This review is such a great help!thank u!!!
After 3 years I upgraded my phone to iPhone 16 Plus from iPhone 13 Pro. That older phone was insanely lovely and good. But changing my experience to a bigger screen and a bigger battery life was a good decision for me. I suggest to give a chance to iPhone 16 Plus if you really don't give a shit to 120hz. Did not take too long for me to get used to use a 60hz screen for my daily usage.
I upgraded from a 13 from a 16 and my do I love it. I ain’t really take pics on the 13 but more enticed to take photos on the 16. I love the camera buttons imo, and my am I impressed by the battery life of this phone. I haven’t even charged my phone to 100 and still get enough battery for the whole day. As for the 60hz I’m not really hurt by it. I won’t lie I do see the difference in smoothness w a 120hz display, but I think the 16 does a great job in being smooth(at least more than my 13). It sucks that Apple intelligence is still in beta but when Apple finds their footing and fully releases it, I think the 16 line up would definitely look more impressive. For an avg consumer the 16 isn’t bad but if simply want more complexity than simplicity android would be better or if your willing to give up that arm and leg for the pro models 😹
Thank you for making this video, a excellent review, the only things that let iPhone 16 and Plus down, is 60Hz, making it the most expensive 60Hz on the market. Plus fast charging, and should have 1 or 2 more pro features too.
Great video, very well done. Good job and thank you. It was very useful. I'm wanting to switch my wife and I back to iPhones this year, God willing, but budget is tight. Here in the EU the base 16 costs €949! Very expensive. My local authorised reseller still sells the 13, 14 and 15. While the 13 and 14 are more affordable, they are a bit long in the tooth so I'm looking at the 15 potentially. Despite the drab colours (😢). However if we can't afford that, I'll try the 14 but sell it after a year and then get either the 15 or 16 next year when the price drops. From your tests it's clear the camera on the 15 is better in low light than the 12, 13 and 14.
I think the 16 is a significant upgrade for non-pro iPhones. 2 gen jump in processor, better battery, 2GB extra ram, better camera, action & camera buttons. It's a S year for Pro users for sure.
I’m honestly ready for next year’s iPhone and watch since I didn’t upgrade this year. I’m hoping to see something truly exciting compared this year’s editions.
I have no clue about phones, but was just offered a 16 and took it. Your video was very helpful, as I currently have a 12 and was worried that it would be a waste of time upgrading. But you say its a very good upgrade, so I feel more comfortable now. Also, I think you live in one of my favourite English towns. If I said you were doing these vids for "The greater good", would I be right about where you are? hahaha hope you understand the ref - Thanks again - Elie
ALSO if you’re torn between buying let’s say the 16+ or the regular pro, it’s only a $70 difference as long as you choose the same storage option. So if you do 256gb for both models it’s only a $70 difference for all those extra “pro” features.
👍11 Pro to 16 / 16Pro???👍 I agree I hate getting new phones. I have a small business and it’s a hassle. I have the 11 Pro (my 1st iPhone). I like it. But iPhone incremental generation improvements left me in no hurry. It’s about time to upgrade and I am glad I waited I am leaning towards the 16 512gb (non pro). I only want the Pro to get the 1TB really.
Hi, I just like to say thanks very much for the video. I have currently got an iPhone 13 mini so I was thinking of upgrading, but I couldn’t make my mind up whether to stick with the 16 or go for the pro because of the better zoom and thanks to your video. I’ve decided I’d rather have one of the nice new colours than the extra money just for the extra zoom because that’s the only extra feature that I would really use.
As an Android user with 120Hz refresh rate, I want to switch to either 15/16 Pro. However it's ridiculously expensive; the Pro models can cost about RM4k-RM6k++. At the same time, I'm more concerned with battery life; thus why I'm also considering the base 16 model. The current phone I'm using only last for less than 5 hours then I have to charge it again. It's kinda annoying, especially when I'm in class and I have to use my device often.
Just bought the 16 pro.. and the battery depletes to 40% after three hours using normal web browsing.. and My battery in my iPhone X which is 6 years old last longer.
Will be upgrading from 12 Pro to 16 Plus. That bigger screen and the battery life is such a good plus. Is 120 Hz nice? Yes, it is. But I can live without it. I value battery life and performance over that. I just hope Apple maybe bumps it up to 75 or 90 Hz screens. That will come in handy. But there is one very important thing people are not discussing - PWM. I have noticed as a rule of thumb that every new gen has been improved. I struggled a lot on earlier OLED screens.
The difference between them isn't big enough to warrant an upgrade. People using the way older models such as the iPhone 12 - iPhone X/Xs are the ones who are way more likely to upgrade to the IPhone 16 models so this is a more relevant and worthwhile comparison.
The battery on my 14pro was shot and I had £150 of John lewis vouchers. So I decided to get to a 16 for essentially the same price as getting a new battery on my 14pro after trade in. The only difference on the lack of always on display but I have gained USB-C, an action button, a camera shortcut button :P and crucially a new battery and the same size phone...instead of just a new battery for £100.

I was a bit disappointed to see that Apple doesn’t do a mini option now but my 12 is barely holding a charge.
I am looking forward to an upgrade and the 16 looks impressive. I’m hoping I can push myself to get more out of the camera. I’m still a point and click gal. 😂
please do for the pro series as well!!!
He won’t because the tech chap hates the Pro models iPhones.
@@Adamtendo_player_1oh please do the pro models 2 pretty please 😂😂
5 years worth and sadly none of them were enticing enough to upgrade from my 11 pro max which made me end up with an S23 and it felt more valuable in both software and hardware
how do you mean? I’m about to get rid of my 15 Pro Max for an S24 Ultra. Probably get the S25 shortly too.
How can you guys stand Android? The Sameung bloatware, inferior exynos chip, inconsistent update schedule and apps going nuts with data mining is crazy. Also the S series are just as boring in terms of design.

You've help me alot on deciding which one to get...
So 16 plus we go💪💪💪
As someone who used the iPhone 3g as my daily back in the day (same chip and specs as the OG, just with 3G) it may have had a 60 hz display, but certainly couldn't handle running at a smooth 60 hz.
For perspective, it only had a single core chip running at 412 mhz paired with 128 mb of ram.
Don't get me wrong, it was still an incredible and smooth feeling experience for the time
i have the 11, i want an upgrade, do you reccomend 16 or 15pro?
16 أفضل لان الجهاز لايوجد حماوة والبطارية أقوى
Thanks for the comparison. Can the iphone 16 Plus shoot DNG format photos using third party apps like Adobe Lightroom or Moment?
Thanks for the comprehensive review! I'm trying to decide between the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. Based on your experience, which would you recommend for someone who [Specific Need, e.g., prioritizes portability, needs excellent battery life, values the larger screen]?
Hear me out. I’m currently on iphone 7 and it has been good until today. The only thing that made me want to upgrade is because one of my fav app is not updating anymore. 😂 And I need solid reasons and help for me to choose. This review is such a great help!thank u!!!
Which did you choose?
my iphone 16 battery does not last that long, anything you recommend me doing, could it be a fault?
for other experience, how is the battery??
My only question.. Can the base iPhone 16 take and read RAW? Cus i have a lightroom in my iphone and I want to edit RAW.. please answer my question
My Fav Tech Chap! , please review the Panels app, if its compatible with the 16s
can't afford it

Great info I’m upgrading from 8 plus 😮to a 16 or 16 plus looking at reviews 👍
Same here. The 8 Plus has been a good phone.
@ excellent phone no need to change but apple not updating, they should do a better trade in, but pigs are greedy
One of the best reviews so far, fast , easy, straight forward
How much can you zoom in with camera for filming?
I'm wondering if there is an improvement in the signal strength. I live in a rural area where I'm mostly sitting on 1 bar. Currently have a 12.
Really Useful and fun to watch... Subscribe.
Fantastic review of the generational differences.
Upgrading my 64GB 12 to the 16 Plus 256GB. Definitely feeling that lack of storage especially because I like to game on my phone.
I will buy my Iphone in the end off november on black friday ,I will save for sure ,and buy ahead my case and screen protecter .nice review
The regular iPhone 16 is a no brainer this time around (just wished it at least had a 90Hz refresh rate)
Should I return my pro and get base one? I now have the iPhone 11
Can the 128gb base model ip16 be use for vlogging?
First time in your channel and I quickly subscribed! I love how you do the review compared to others.💖💖💖💖
Awesome review thanks for it.Will you do review just 16 plus ?
WHich iphone has better speakers? iphone 16 or the 16pro?
Great review! i love the part where you compared the audio mixers.
Informative and on point. 👍
Great video does it outperform other flagships like the s24+ and pixel?????
Thanks for going all the way back to the 12s in this video.
Great video as always.
I’ve noticed 16 plus heats up a bit if I use camera control too much
Wahhhh
excellent review with details, videos, pics...it was easy to follow your assessments and testing
I was wondering about the colors to.Why are the the max and pro in in vibrant colors ?
Which is better, Galaxy Watch Ultra or Apple Watch Ultra 2? As someone who has both Samsung and Apple devices in pocket.
ALSO if you’re torn between buying let’s say the 16+ or the regular pro, it’s only a $70 difference as long as you choose the same storage option. So if you do 256gb for both models it’s only a $70 difference for all those extra “pro” features.
If youre on iPhone 12 or older, then its worth upgrading. Went from iPhone SE 2020 to 15 Pro. Big upgrade.
I'd say 13 or older
I would say 8 or older, the iPhone 11 is still good enough
👍11 Pro to 16 / 16Pro???👍
I agree I hate getting new phones.

I just ordered 16 promax!! Currently using 14 pro max
9:19 I'm convinced you're playing that part in reverse because there ain't no way you can just perfectly align the phones in one single attempt.
Hi, I just like to say thanks very much for the video. I have currently got an iPhone 13 mini so I was thinking of upgrading, but I couldn’t make my mind up whether to stick with the 16 or go for the pro because of the better zoom and thanks to your video. I’ve decided I’d rather have one of the nice new colours than the extra money just for the extra zoom because that’s the only extra feature that I would really use.
do you think is worth it to buy the iphone 16 having the normal 14?
just wait for iphone 17 you dont need to upgrade to iphone 16
Your review's the best!
Does aluminum take to color better than titanium?
this video is perfect brother i really enjoyed it thank you keep up the good work
I love the photography styles , very Fujifilm, kodak 🤩
what about the 3x camera??? which is the most useful for portraits
Very helpful indeed! Thank you!
What camera are you using to shoot your video?
me?
Just bought the 16 pro.. and the battery depletes to 40% after three hours using normal web browsing.. and My battery in my iPhone X which is 6 years old last longer.
Might have resolved this issue i switched from 5G ro 4G so far used only 10% in 5 hours..
Been waiting for this one
Why didn't you test the 15 plus vs 16 plus ?
The difference between them isn't big enough to warrant an upgrade. People using the way older models such as the iPhone 12 - iPhone X/Xs are the ones who are way more likely to upgrade to the IPhone 16 models so this is a more relevant and worthwhile comparison.
Great review, very helpful. And those swans! Amazing.
After looking at a million videos this video helped me decide on the iPhone 16 plus 🎉
