I’m currently working through this issue as well. Local ford dealer wanted $199 to “diagnose” the issue. Software issues should not be the customers responsibility.
We should not have to pay for this...worked fine before I got a certain OTA update and then it stopped working...I reported it to the dealership while I still had bumper to bumper warranty(they had no fix at the time). Ford finally finds a fix after my bumper to bumper expires.. I gave up fighting with the dealership to fix it for free..button still doesn't work..

This exact thing happened to my truck. Thanks for the info. I don't understand why this should cost anything. Seems like a recall issue to me.
