@@jerryjeromehawkins1712 Hi! Purolator is even better than Fram. It's a New York company and they make Motorcraft filters as well as Denso to Toyota, etc. Try Purolator Boss or Motorcraft, those are an upgrade for your engine lubrication👍🏼
Please help me understand why Ultra Platinum is not Dexos compliant and why it doesn’t match the FoMoCo exact rating for my 3.5L Powerboost hybrid nor the straight 3.5 Ecoboost engine. Platinum meets those requirements but not Ultra Platinum.

After the warranty ended, i did some research and put in Pennzoil UP and boy... what a difference. My 2014 3.5L ecoboost ran much better. Way smoother, typical ford engine knocking went away and the fuel economy went from 17.4 mpg to 19 just under two years. Since my mileage is now at 94k, i decided to try Valvoline HM Max life and my truck seems to really like it as well. I'll probably switch back and fourth on OCI's with both the Pennzoil and Valvoline.
I have hundreds of hours of testing and driving many vehicles that we are testing and trying various oils and filters. You are 100% correct that switching over the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum makes a huge difference in every way. I also have two vehicles that are now on the Valvoline Extended-performance High mileage and the vehicle absolutely has a much different feel and has continued. Currently, I maintain Six vehicles, all of different usages and mileages. I do an oil analysis every time I try a different oil and filter combination. But those numbers for 1800 miles on Pennzoil UP seems like vehicle is having issues. My Blackstone labs and Lake City testing are much better at 5000-7500 miles. And we are talking from daily drivers, work vehicles to high horsepower cars and an H2 motorcycle plus a Tow boat. Oils and filters make a huge difference. I can make you a list of what I have test and recommend now after a couple years of collecting data.
Yes, that’s important. If you bundle the TBN with the sample, you get a discount. I sampled at 4800 miles, and based on the TBN, they said I could stretch the interval to 6500 miles(although I will stay around 5000 miles).
The viscosity is low. My guess is you are driving it hard as Ultra Platinum has high quality viscosity improver with great shear stability. But if you are frequently with wide open throttle, I will recommend Red Line to suit your driving style.
Also Blackstone Labs sucks I recommend lake speed jr speed diagnostics he can tell you exactly what’s wrong his sample is 59$ I definitely would advise changing it in 500-1000 miles He’s on youtube lake speed jr also ford boss me how many miles is on the engine
My wild guess will be climate and driving style. Viscosity improver shear down accelerates under high temperature and pressure. Frequently wide open throttle will shear down viscosity a lt faster specially for turbocharged engine but Ecoboost engine seems hard on oil.
You could go with 5w-30 Quaker State Full Synthetic High Mileage which more economical and better. I’ve done 7-8 samples and Quaker State does the best. Your silicone is crazy high. Maybe your head gaskets are going bad. I think change the oil at 1,000 miles use the motorcraft filter. When you change it next time buy 7 quarts. When all or most of the oil is out pour the extra quart in that will flush and rinse all the crap out you could even buy 10 quarts .
@@100pyatt what’s up I have several oil analysis to back up Quaker State Full Synthetic being superior to any off the shelf oil, also hanging with AMS signature series oil.
Quaker State and Pennzoil are made by the same company but the ultra platinum has more in it to reduce wear than the quaker state thats why it cost more.

The color of the oil being dark is because it's doing it's job. I'd go based off your oil analysis and not by color.

Ultra Plantinum is a tad thinner than other oils even at brand new. That's wht the cst is low.
You need to pay the $10 extra for TBN to see how much base is left. My report was good this last time and sampled at 6,500 mile oil change
