The *Spotted Knifejaw* , also known as _Oplegnathus punctatus_ , is a unique species of fish found in Japan's Central Honshu region, South China Sea, and Hawaii. This species belongs to the Knifejaw family and inhabits coral and stony reefs. Juvenile Spotted Knifejaws have silvery, black spots that blend into one another, while large adults have white mouth areas. They can grow up to 86.0 cm in length and eat mollusks with their sharp beaks, which are made of converged teeth from both jaws.
