  • Long term review of my 2011 Toyota Avalon. This is part of the 3rd generation. It has the 3.5L v6 and this body style was only for the 2011 and 2012 model years. In this video I talk about my ownership experience now that the car has around 200k miles.
    No, I haven’t owned it for the entire 200k. I picked it up around 160-165k miles.

    I have a 2007 limited. I purchased it 7 years ago with 64,000 miles on it. I am the 2nd owner, and it now has 301,000 miles. I’ve had my windshield replaced twice due to cracks. Safelite replaced it both times at no cost and my insurance did not go up, because it was due to rocks hitting it. The car still drives great!

    I just bought the 2012 limited with the V6. 2 weeks ago with 91k miles on it. This is my first Toyota (was a Ford lover). I bought as a second car due to my 2001 Expedition having 345k miles on the original large V8(yes I know they are not supposed to last that long, mine didn’t get the memo). As much as I loved my Ford. I want to drive my Avalon all the time. I don’t even want to be passenger princess anymore! She is a dream to drive and am completely happy with my purchase except for a 12 yr old its purchase price was a bit pricey around here and I got her for 14k out the door. 😊 which was a little below average on the price.
    As you can see with my Ford if you take care of the maintenance they can last. So I have a feeling that she will last too.

    I have a 2011 Avalon Limited with 260xxx miles. Bought it used in October '21 with 203xxx on it. Had the power steering leak as well. I fixed it using a worm clamp in placed of the original spring clamp. The spring clamp no longer is sealing the rubber hose properly. I also replaced the top dogbone engine mount because the rubber part had deteriorated. Replaced the flickering HID bulbs due to i think deterioration as well.

    You beat me to 200k! I'm still at 182k on my 2006 Limited though I mostly drive my Rav4 in town due to the better gas mileage. I wish my Avalon had the 6 speed auto they shift a lot smoother!

    • @theaveragecar672
      @theaveragecar672  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It really is! If I had a second car that got better fuel economy in the town, I'd definitely drive that instead. I have this and a 04 Lexus RX330 so this is my main driver. Haha

      I plan on buying 2008 or 2009 Avalon do you think it worth it in 2024. People say Avalon consumes lots of fuel. 2hats your experience, please honest review

      Yeah definitely, they're great cars. I prefer the 2011/2012 body style personally, but all 3rd gens are great. The v6 doesn't get terrible fuel economy, but it's not great. I would get 20-22mpg in the city, maybe 27-29mpg on the highway.

      Yeah......I had loved to buy 2011/2012 I am only thinking of 2008/2009 because I am on a tight budget

    2011 owner here and I bought at 101k. Currently at 146,000 and I’m having some problems but nonetheless it’s a smooth ride. Make sure you keep up the fluids , brakes and tire rotations and you’ll be fine!

    My 2011 Avalon has 287k mostly Highway so it’s still has about 180k when I bought it at 169k 3 years ago! Best car I’ve ever owned! FYI, your Insurance will not go up getting your windshield replaced. From experience, I have a 0 Dollar Deductible for Comprehensive and I don’t carry Collision because I chose Uninsured Motorist and Liability is still not a bad monthly premium. Collision is what makes it high. I would leave the windshield alone because most likely it will get damaged again.

    You should do the conversion to get dual piston caliper in the front from the new Ted Camry/avalon or even from the Highlander lineup. I have done that and it’s such a better feel rather than the sponge brake pedal fee

    My 2011 Limited is at 112K and still runs like a new car. I bought it from my father-in-law three years ago, and all it’s had is a new set of tires and regular oil changes. It’s the best car I’ve ever owned!

      @@11WaelI would definitely change the transmission fluid. Have the dealer do it. It’s a drain and fill. That’s what I did for my 2012. I plan to change it every 50K from here on out.

    Be careful which windshield you buy and who’s installing it because I remember on my 2008 avy it did crack and the car have been so bad when comes to road noise you will hear all sorts of weird noise and its just not the same as the oem I would suggest buying one from the junkyard or from the dealership. Is it expensive? Yes but if you care about comfort and road noise it will pay it self

    • @11Wael
      @11Wael 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @11Wael 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wassup bro 😅 i watched your review about the Avalon awhile ago you have 80k miles on it ok I just bought a one owner with 77k miles have you changed the transmission fluid mine with 77k one owner when I bought it, the previous owner told me that he never touch the transmission fluid since he bought it new was his wife’s car, so it was a garage kept and was babied.!

    • @11Wael
      @11Wael 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s stuck on mine too That’s a common issue. I think there is a motor to change

    • @theaveragecar672
      @theaveragecar672  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know that's a common issue with these, but I honestly never had too many problems. It would randomly go up once in a while, but luckily the motor was still good and I could just put it back down.

    Buying a used 2011 Avalon Limited with 170k miles for $10,000. think thats a good price? its got good maintenance records on it

    • @theaveragecar672
      @theaveragecar672  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I guess it depends what the market is like around you. That's a bit high on price around where I live. If you plan on keeping it a long time, though, and you feel the car has been well taken care of and doesn't have any upcoming maintenance, it could be worth the purchase. I bought mine with 160k for $8500 in 2021.

      The best I got was about 32 mpg in the summer cruising at 65 mph with a little tailwind. On average, I was getting 27-28 in the summer, and 25ish in the winter.
