- If you've been thinking about buying a 2011-2012 Avalon, here's some things that might help you make the decision.
1. Bigger body car
2. Balance of fuel economy and HP. I get between 27-30mpg depending on driving.
3. Super plush ride quality
4. Interior space, leg room, comfort

These are so underrated and hard to find
Agreed. I got lucky and didn’t have to search for too long. Right place right time!
@@theaveragecar672 that sucks, I’m 16 and I need a car now that I have a job and I really want the Avalon limited trim but I can’t find anything and I can’t act on anything because I have no credit and no Co-signer
What is different between avalon 2012 limited and normal option ?
Any different in fuel consumption
@@khalidkhas5204 I believe not, the difference is that limited comes with a multitude of features like heated and cooled seats, push start, adaptive cruise control, a motorized rear sunshade, I suggest you buy one if you don’t live in Florida.
They are selling me a 2011 avalon for 8, 000 with 96000 miles. Should I buy it? I have no idea how good they are.
I have a 2007 Limited. I’ve had it for 7 years. When i bought it, it had 64,000 miles on it. It now has 318,000 miles and still rides like a gem…..
And it should last a lot longer as well! Great cars, and extremely smooth.
One of the most reliable vehicles ever made. I have a 06 limited with 280k miles . I love it.
That's great! I'm almost to 200k.
avalon is best. my car is 160k mile
Any major issues ?
Just bought my 2011 Avalon Limited in the beautiful pearl white w/tan leather. One-owner, with 73,000 miles and in immaculate condition! I had been looking for one for a few months and once I found mine online and saw the carfax (perfect service record performed at the dealership) it was a matter of getting to the dealer where it was listed and buying it ASAP! I'm absolutely loving it so far. Good power, efficiency but most importantly COMFORT! My drive to work this past week was so much LESS STRESSFUL. The cabin is quiet and sound system is outstanding. So, I'm literally just enjoying the ride. I did get the windows tinted on Friday--appearance is MUCH improved--went from an older man's sedan look to a sleek, sexy vibe(ha ha, maybe I'm going overboard here!). Yeah, I'm thinking I'm gonna have this car for a LONNNNGGGG time!
Aren’t they amazing!? I didn’t think I would have loved it as much as I do!
How much did it cost ? I am looking at a 2011 with 53k miles, they are asking about $ 15k
@@chillyggood price
Me too. You got to get k&n intake for it
Just got a 2012 all black with the black tint man love it so far!!
Congrats on the new car! They're seriously amazing.
I have a 11’ black with light tan leather interior and dark tint. It gets 23-24 City & 30-32 on the highway. It is fast. The trunk is large & the rear legroom is enormous. It emergency corners amazingly. The V6 and transmission is from the Lexus. They regularly go 300K miles. It drives like a FWD Mercedes. I get lots of compliments. It has 133K miles. I paid $13,000 recently. The Avalon is a flagship vehicle so it is built to the highest quality of Toyota’s standards. I’ve have 6’5” friends ride in the back and they had plenty of room. It also stops on a dime.
Jealous that you've got a black one for sure. They really are some damn good cars. We also have a 2015 Elantra that gets upwards of 40mpg on the highway, but we both prefer to take the Avalon on road trips every time because of how comfortable and quiet it is!
I just got my mom the exact same color 2012 with 73k miles on it for $11.5k. It has reconstructed title just because the driver door was dented. It's the most comfortable car I've drove.
@@salaadino Congratulations! That’s barely broken in at 73K miles. I use Mobile 1 full synthetic for every oil change, btw. Smart purchase. Your mom has a very nice and safe car to drive now.
These are fine cars. We had one fall into our lap and we snagged it up. No regrets getting this Japanese Cadillac.
Absolutely. They are some damn good cars.
I just picked one up for $7300 dollars. 140k miles. Couldn’t be happier! 11 limited pearl white!
Awesome find! I'm in the process of searching for one.
Congrats on the new car! Talk about a deal. That’s such a beautiful color!
Absolutely beautiful car
I am in the market for a highway cruiser and definitely looking at these. Thanks for the review and good quality video. It's nice not hearing someone speaking into awful mic.
It's the perfect highway cruiser. Quick enough to do whatever you need it to do, and super comfortable. Thanks for watching!
72 mile daily commuter, needed something reliable and comfortable, MPG be damned. Absolutely cannot beat the ride, especially on long interstate trips with the fam. 170k miles and still going. I'm 6' tall torso, and a lot of my leg and back pain went away after buying this car. Great entertainment system, built-in Bluetooth, GPS and satellite. It handles like a yacht, but it's Toyota's entry-level Lexus.
It's our go-to road trip car. It's seriously the perfect mix of comfort, power, and fuel economy. I got just over 30mpg on my last trip which was crazy to me.
I just bought one for $13,000 with 90,000 miles on it. It has been well taken care of and looks brand new inside. I think it's a great car.
It gets between 23-24mpg
Congrats on the purchase! You’re going to love it
How was night driving? How were the lights at night?
I would also mention the safety. Five stars on crash tests all around on this car. 👍
Just got a 2011 limited that is speced just like yours on Friday and I love it so far
Congrats on the new car!
Just got myself a 12. Wow! Flying through the roads like a king on a silent chariot 😂
They’re so smooth!
Had a 2007 avalon and absolutely loved it. Id definitely buy it again.
Yup! I get 28-30mpg (if i drive nice), a powerful v6, super quiet ride, extremely smooth, AND comfortable for everyone? Yes please.
@@theaveragecar672 annnddddd the back seats recline the audio system is great plenty of room and dont forget (if you have the model) the seat setting saver.
I own a 2012 Limited. Love it! Bought used in 2015 with 6667 miles - currently at 88k
Many more miles to come! I'm about to cross over 200k soon.
Love your honesty, well done.
Appreciate it, thanks for watching!
LOVE my 11 Avalon limited no complaints hwy mileage is insane..city is nice...bought it 3 yrs ago only issue i had was the downstream O2 sensor a lil before it hit 150k..other than that NO problems... fun to drive for a big 4 door...if u see 1 and the price is right do it!
Absolutely, highway mileage has been crazy this year for me. Best I averaged was 34 mpg cruising under 60 over 140 miles.
I just bought my 2022 Avalon xle everywhere I go people ask me what kinda car is that... car run so dam smooth and v6 ain't no joke.. to bad it the last year.. hopefully Toyota bring back the avalon
Such a gorgeous design. Bummer they stopped making them for sure, they’re an underrated car!
I wonder if some KYB quick struts with firm up the ride a tad and cut down on all the lean in corners
KYB struts but pass on the "quick" strut spring combo. the springs are cheaply made. IF you need to replace the springs buy OEM
@@glennhansel9411 Guess if I get over my fear of the spring compressors I just swapped the strut
@@SAAN27 It would still be cheaper for you to remove the strut from vehicle and bring it to the mechanic for him to install a new strut, using the original spring. then you can reinstall the assembly
I have had a 1999 and a 2002 they where the same felt like it floated plenty of horse power
They're great cars!
I have a 2012. Beautiful & comfy car.
It absolutely is!
Im interested in one. Im stock between is350 and avalon 2012. I’d love to have a smooth ride so i might just get the avalon. More luxury, bigger, beautiful and much more. What do you think
If you’re looking for something bigger, and more luxurious I would get the Avalon. The is350 is going to be more sporty and have tighter suspension.
@@theaveragecar672 exactly, and I was looking for something comfortable and luxury and a little sporty. I’m not so crazy about this sport side, because I really do not care so much as long as the car is comfortable. I have a question how much is the full tank? How much would it cost you in US dollar?
If you want more sporty, then go with the IS350. The Avalon is super comfortable, but not sporty at all. For fuel - a full tank cost me around $70-80 right now where I live, it has an 18.5 gallon fuel tank.
@@theaveragecar672 i looked up and saw that it does 0-60mph in about 6.2s and that’s actually too good for what the car weights in😅 + the lexus is so bad on gas its worse then the Avalon. The avalon would be a good daily
The v6 has some power! It's around 270hp I think, and it pulls pretty nice. If you're looking for a comfortable daily, decent MPG, comfortable for roadtrips, and has a bit of power, then the Avalon is a great choice. If you want something sportier, then IS350 all the way.
I’ve found one 2012 Avalon in black driven 200k miles should I go for it?
Check the maintenance history first. Take it to a mechanic to get a pre purchase inspection. 200k could be either really low, or on it's last leg. It all comes down to how well it's been taken care of.
If the car checks out, and the inspection looks good, and the price looks good, I'd go for it!
Avalon has 268hp. The Ford 3.5 engine is the only non-gdi engine generates more than 280hp.
how much are you on a bad day ?
I have a 09 Limited with 212k miles on it I'm considering trading it for a 11 or 12 I don't really like the body style of the newer ones
They’re definitely super comfortable. I think the 11/12 are the best looking
Good information. I looking forward to buy 2012 model.
I don't think you'll be disappointed, they're great cars!
My favorite avalon 2012 😊 I own a 2007 and a 2008 I love it ❤❤❤❤
I have a 2018 but I want a 2011 or 2012 do you think i should sell mine and get one of these?
Why do you want to trade it for an older car? If yours is paid off, and it's in good working condition, I'd just keep it personally. But if you have monthly car payment, and you want to get out to get something cheaper, I'd definitely consider an 11/12!
What kind (brand) of tires do you have on the Avalon?
I don't remember what kind they were in this video, but here's a link to the video of the tires I bought after: th-cam.com/video/ibi-FZ6eMwc/w-d-xo.html
Avalon also comes with a compact size trunk size (14.4) and has no fall down back seats, which significantly limited its practicality.
@user-qj9ox5ns1q Do not lie to yourself. It has a size of trunk that can't even be considered large in a compact car. Compare the legrooms to an Impala's, and see how large the legrooms of the Avalon are.
@user-qj9ox5ns1q I was thinking about the Impala 2014-2020. The prior generation is much worse.
@user-qj9ox5ns1q It depends. You are right that the Avalon from 05-11 is great except for a smaller trunk and no lay-flat second row. However, the Avalons after 11 are worse than Impala after 14. Check KBB customer reviews.
Yes
Is it okay to buy a 200k miles in ?
I think as long as the car has been regularly maintained and taken care of, you shouldn't have any issues with it at 200k. I would take any care you are wanting to purchase to a mechanic to get a pre purchase inspection.
In my research it's been noted that properly maintained the car can last over 300K miles.
My Avalon is now 280k
What abt the Fuel ?
@@khalidkhas5204 very good I get 300 mile range
@@khalidkhas5204 the mile of the car is now 291k

How much KM because I stay in Dubai will change from LS 430 to Avalon if fuel is Good

Do you still have 211 Avalon?
Yes I do.
Anyone know if theres any body mods for this car and where do get them?
Can’t answer this, but there’s a Toyota Avalon forum on Facebook that you can join and ask!
is yours a 4 or6 cylinder?
All Avalons of this generation are 3.5 v6’s I believe.
Great car. Comfort and reliability. Lexus quality for Toyota price. Only drawback, Avalon often associated with "old geezer's" car.
I'm not even mad about it. Good mpg, quiet ride, good power, and super smooth? Yes please!
@@theaveragecar672 Fair enough. Great buy! So long as you don't get an old Avalon with the stick shift on the steering column...loll...
Its beautiful
I like it
When I say I love these cars I mean so reliable.
They really are!
2nd gen floats I have a 2004 Avalon
Yes.....buy this car...thank me laterrrrrrr
Bro said 5’8 on a good day that’s gotta be his cache phrase
You’re not wrong 🤷♂️
I got a 2008 and will buy a 2011 100% most reliable car I ever have.
Can't beat that. See how long you can keep it for! They're great cars.
My wife has a silver 2012 Avalon and I have a gold 2011 Lincoln town car… we couldn’t be happier… while everyone else keeps buying ugly under powered over priced all plastic crossover garbage
Sounds like you've got some solid vehicles!
