    If you are honest in the film industry and know your boundaries and limitation, people will be respectful most of the time, and why shouldn't Steven? I was called by casting a few times and while I know that some would have just said "yes" to any work during a slow season, I would honestly tell casting or production "Okay, this is what's going on... and I don't want to put production under risk if you hire me." They really appreciate this kind of honesty.

      Either way, I agree, he doesn't feel like he'd belong in that movie. It's a good movie, but he's not a good fit for it. It's much more of a junk piece, in a GREAT way, like it's a very fun and light movie and Javier's style is DEVASTATINGLY real, he would've added an unneeded touch in that particular movie.
      Tom / Ferrell, all of them were great. Even that blonde guy, I forget his name, but they added to this surreality and Javier would've been a realistic fully working switchblade in a movie about a surreal future.
      It's great a he considered that so deeply and turned down what would've been an amazing opportunity.

    I'm sorry I just don't know how you turn down an opportunity to work with Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg. You get yourself ready. You do whatever you have to do to "see yourself in the role." It's like an athlete saying "Nah" to the Olympics.

      @j.f.l.bousquet1998 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's very easy to understand, actually. He explained it, maybe you should pay attention. If an athlete is not in shape or does not have the proper training to go to the Olympics and decides to go anyway just because he wants to become famous, he'll be an embarrassment in front of millions of people because he'll underperfom and his reputation will be destroyed forever. Bardem was very smart and the fact he's now a big star with a successful career proves he made the right choice.
