I've always liked Javier Bardem's work
you see some of these people on the big screen and sometimes forget (at least I do sometimes) all of the work they've done to get there

Biutiful is a movie that really opens a door in your life that you can’t close. What a powerful man he is specifically in that film. A little more room talking to Mr. Bardem could transcend a whole lot about life not just acting.

Javier is spot-on. The most convincing acting and improv performances are the ones where the actor interprets the role with brutal honesty. It's why I love theatre so much, and also why the art form has immensely reshaped my perspective on life and relationships.

It was love at first sight when I first discovered Javier Bardem in The Sea Inside where he was cast as parapalegic Ramón Sampedro, who spent 30 years campaigning the govt for his right to die. Bardem was transformed physically into his character and as an actor, he did the rest to BECOME Ramón Sampedro. Artistic alchemy. I was smitten by his mind, body and spirit. Lucky Penelope. They make a gorgeous couple.

Ironic he's speaking of finding that moment of honesty and then they go and censor some of his words. This is real life, end censorship. Besides that I enjoyed his message.

That isn't true censorship. We know what he is saying, and he was still able to express that. Some people just don't want their kids to pick up those words so early.

He's so right about the lies. Remember the last time you told your boss what an incompetent asshole they were? No. No you don't. But what a magnificent moment of truth that would be. We all need more of THOSE moments in life...minus the repurcussions, of course. It's definitely not lost on me how for some actors that their moment of true honesty is when they are pretending to be somebody else. It's not hard to be honest. It's hard to suffer the consequences. So we lie. Maybe that's not something we should normalize.

How terrible to be needing relief through sincerity in acting! Weird and somehow twisted. Acting as a form of lying in daily life may be interesting but I can't understand this manner of acting as the only time of complete sincerity and nakedness of being yourself. Anyway he must be speaking of his experience of being fully in the moment when delivering his roles something which may be a way of transcending our boring dull mondane selves. When you create something new you have to enter some different higher space of being and happiness hence the relief I suppose
