You definitely need the sport chrono on a 997.2. It’s a completely different car when you hit the sport and sport plus mode. Pdk is great and is faster than the manual. I daily drive mine and you can choose as and when and how you drive it !

It’s been a while since we had some 997 content!! That forward facing camera makes it looks like you’re off riding in the first half of the video. How do you feel about your 997 without the Sport Chrono? Have you considered having the software installed?

Hey! No haven't considered sport Chrono. I think the only real benefit I'd get is have a less intrusive PSM. My current option is either on or off. I do think an in between option could help on the track, however, I have yet to do that. I'm planning to do my first track day in October, so we'll see. My guess is I won't be good enough my first few times for the nannies to bother me.

Car Fanatic I’ve heard SC gives you better throttle mapping in “Sport” mode. If it’s anything like Sport mode in my old M3.... You don’t miss it if you’ve never had it, but once you’ve had it, you won’t want to live with out it.

How is your oil consumption? I have a 2009 C2S which eats a 1qt / 900 miles. I drive it spirited on the weekends like you do in this video.

I also have an 09 C2S which is consuming around the same amount of oil. Had me worried, but the more I have researched, the more I have found these engines can be oil hungry. Nature of the beast I guess...

You seem so kind, thank you for the content. I think buying a Porsche SUV was very foolish but at least you can do your own maintenance on that with garage & tools. You put good effort into your videos. Have you ever considered a Corvette C5 or C6?

I've driven a C6 Z06. It's not for me. The power isn't balanced with the chassis and handle doesn't feel precise. No doubt it's a fast car though if driven properly.

@@CarFanatic Aww fck you trying to burst my bubble? I know Porsches hold their value well but I think the teardrop window LS vettes will too, I haven't driven one but 20k for a nice C6 or C5 seems more affordable than a 911

Whats a 997 like for a daily driver (pdk) inc some longer distance trips?

It has all the practicality as long as for not trying to fit really long objects. You can easily fit 2 carry on suit cases and several duffle bags. However, the suspension and nose insulation aren't really suited for long road trips. Definitely rides like a sports car.
