I knew I wanted one when I was 12 and saw a yellow targa for the first time in Commando. It only took me 30 more years to get a 996tt cab and a brief relationship with a cayenne turbo mid way 😂
@mikegregory8353 mid engine layout is so playful and balanced. The 911 might feel lazy n comparison. But driving a 911 is a unique experience. Would be awesome to have both 😃

I recently added an 86 3.2 M491 targa - superb car - to my collection and another keeper. They are recognisably similar cars but the driving experience is unique in each. I just love Porsches from this era. 987, 997 are the last analog Porsche. Starting from 991,981 body became bigger, interior and the key fob became modern and they lost the hydrolic steering. I do love the later models of Porsche but I think 987.2, 997.2 are the best design and gives better driving experience.

I love these kinds of videos. I remember seeing one of your first videos when you were up at the lookout in Gatineau Park. The 997, the last Porsche where when you popped the engine lid, you can actually see an engine, much like my 993 Carrera but unlike my 991.1 Carrera 4 GTS, both manuals. The more sophisticated these cars become, they seem to be aimed at "key turners", a phrase I coined well over a decade ago because the newer these Porsches get, owners get them serviced instead of working on them which I find so enjoyable. Life can be short so time to get the car I always wanted. I can relate to that Porsche Commercial video at 7:05. I downloaded that video ages ago; it is a keeper. That and "An Early 911" video on TH-cam. Some of us are really Porsche obsessed having been to the Porsche museums a few times each as well as the location of where the first 356 was built in Gmünd in Kärnten, Austria. I also stopped in at the summer residence of Porsche where the small chapel on their property laid to rest the family that passed away. This video has inspired me to grab my camera and start taking some pictures. I love Porsches, always have since i worked at a dealer as an 18 year old, detailing cars. I used to take 911’s that were rough and make them pristine by buffing the entire car, then polish, then old school wax (the days, no Teflon or ceramic). Porsches always has such great quality paint, they usually turned out well. I learn new things in every video i watch, and i leaned a few things on this one. So thank you!

He should really look into Ferrari 355. 5 valve engine, ITBs, dry sump, 8500 redline. The engine alone is a masterpiece and the design is second to none. Lighter than a 360 with near the same power level. Awesome 997.2!
Your video work is so exceptionally good. People have no idea how much work you put into this. But I can tell it was a labor of love and commend your for your hard work and creativity!!
@Prabhul Dev I'm looking at a 997.1 but, I'm not sure if the IMS bearing has been replaced. The car looks great but, the price for a rebuild if the bearing hasn't been replaced keeps me at bay.
If you look through some of the comments some are saying that all the 997.2 are safe. But the way I have been a looking at since my initial research is that all the 997 turbos are bullet proof. The one from 2011 onwards are safe too. Porsche had fixed the IMS issues from 2011 on. Some say it was earlier. But I play it safe with 2011 onwards. At the same time when you do the PPI the mech might be able to check that for you. Good luck on your hunt 🙌😃
@@darrelltuttle8298 The failure rate of the IMS is low, especially on 2006+ cars, however there is always a small risk. Replacing the IMS with an upgraded deaign on 2005 cars that have the smaller bearing design is great insurance and piece of mind. The 997.2 (2009+) cars have a completely redesigned motor that has 40% less components and no IMS, also cases of bore scoring are significantly decreased.
I’m keeping my 981 Boxster S for my daily and when it’s paid off the 997.2 is what I want. Love the suspension. I put the x73 on my Boxster and it changed the cars look completely from the base suspension, just as on this 997. These cars must be lower than stock to look right.
super clean car. absolutely love it. those wheels are so satisfying to look at, the machine work is so detailed. lot of engineering went into those. (I'm a CNC Machinist btw) refinement does so much more for me than the dollar figures and wow factor. nice display of your skills with the Outro too.

Fantastic inspiration for a 997.2 C2S owner. I'm in the UK and struggling to find the fantastic headlights in the video. Can you give some specific details about the model and manufacturer. I also found the video of your exhaust mod. Fantastic! I've been thinking about a centre muffler delete as a starting point. Topgear and Hayward Scott are on my shortlist.
Great videa. I had a very similar experience. Couldn't find the right 997, so went with an Interlagos Blue e92 M3 manual, kept it for 2 years, and then found a 997.2 C2S manual, and jumped on it. I think modded tastefully, it’s a lot more fun than a GT car 🙌😃
He should really look into Ferrari 355. 5 valve engine, ITBs, dry sump, 8500 redline. The engine alone is a masterpiece and the design is second to none. Lighter than a 360 with near the same power level. Awesome 997.2!
That is STUNNING 👌🏼
💯😃🙌👍
perfect build, thank you for the interview!
🙏🙌😃
Damn, that M3 is a gem!
Man the films at the end are so well done and epic! Love the series and looking forward to more :)
Appreciate the feedback. It’s definitely motivation to do more 😃🙌🙏
And I have a EVOM tune but I’m told the highest tune is a stage 3
I love that for all of us these are our forever cars!! ❤❤
It’s a true test of car ownership 😂😃🙌
Wow hats off on the tasteful and well thought out mods/ upgrades. Lovely
🙌😃💯
Thank you 🙌
Awesome b-roll 😊 silver is so timeless on a 911, love my GT silver T
🙌😃🙏 amazing. 💯💯 the 911s are timeless
Stunningly beautiful.
🙏🙌😃
🙌
Freaking beautiful 997
💯🙌😃
The photos ofe the car are amazing. This guy is rellly good.
Thank you ☺️
💯😃🙌
Awesome video and thanks for sharing!! Love the 997 series of vlogs!! Definitely 993 and 964 would be another awesome vlog!!
Thank you, I appreciate that.
If I can get my hands on a 993 or 964, I would definitely do another video 😃🙌
beautiful view, good take
Appreciate that. Thank you for watching 😃🙌
Nice era, today's Porsche is humongous.
💯💯 bigger and much faster and scarier at the high end of that power 😃🙌
Yes, current 911 is too big. These designs look good, but my favorite style is the black 911 in the bad boys movie.
New ones are the size of a speedboat, and goes faster than a speedboat.
Just discovered your channel after your latest episode. Love the content and quality!…Now watching all the amazing previous episodes.
Thank you so much for the support and feedback. It’s much appreciated. 😃🙏🙌
Fabulous looking car and stunning photography and production, I real talent behind the camera!
911obsessed is great with photography, I love his work.
Thank you for your support 😃🙌
Happy New Year
Third time watching this video and it’s so tastefully modded
Appreciate that 😃🙌
Awesome cinematography!
🙌😃🙏 appreciate that 😃
Timeless designs, 911s are legend
🙌😃💯
Amazing video, ignore the comments on rennlist. Great cinematography and a great break away from all the old and tired conversations about the 997.
Thank you and genuinely appreciate the support 🙏😃🙌
Your video work is so exceptionally good. People have no idea how much work you put into this. But I can tell it was a labor of love and commend your for your hard work and creativity!!
Thank you, that means a lot and the feedback is appreciated. 😃🙌🙏 it’s not perfect, but it’s a learning and fulfilling journey 😃😃
This 997.2 is my inspiration
😃🙌🙌
@Prabhul Dev thanks. The 997.1 I'm looking at is an 07 with 68,000 miles for $47,000. It looks great.
i just picked up my 996 and its been a blast!
That’s amazing congrats. Watch the 996 go up in value. All 911 drive so wonderfully 😃🙌💪
I’m keeping my 981 Boxster S for my daily and when it’s paid off the 997.2 is what I want.
Love the suspension. I put the x73 on my Boxster and it changed the cars look completely from the base suspension, just as on this 997. These cars must be lower than stock to look right.
That’s a good plan. The mod engine recipe from Porsche is so good. A GT4 or a GT4RS with a 997 would be epic also 😃🙌
Great video. I have an e90m3 and next car will be a 911. Thanks for sharing
That’s amazing. Keep the E90 M3 if you can when you get the 911. It’s a keeper 😃🙌
@@thedevthing absolutely. I buy for keeps. 911 then e46m3 csl when its 25 years old.
Amazing 🙌😃
Cool interview and video cinematic’s. For me the 997.2 is the best and this example is amazing. If only you could see the engine in the 991 & 992
Thank you for the comment. 😃🙌🙏
💯 miss seeing the engine. I guess it’s the price of progress 😃🙌
Idk how this came up on my recommended. Other than my recent obsession to watch Pcar vids ha. But you get a sub for sure. Great content.
Amazing. Thank you for the support 🙌😃🙏
super clean car. absolutely love it. those wheels are so satisfying to look at, the machine work is so detailed. lot of engineering went into those. (I'm a CNC Machinist btw) refinement does so much more for me than the dollar figures and wow factor. nice display of your skills with the Outro too.
Thank you for that 😃🙌🙏
Those BC forged wheels are super nice 😃🙌
Great video, awesome car
🙏🙌😃
Absolutely incredible
Appreciate that 🙏😃🙌
Great work!
🙌🙏😃
You have done what I consider a perfect upgrade ...lol... Looks Fantastic!
💯 agree
Can you provide more info on the front lip? This car is super clean. Amazing.
I believe it this. It’s essentially a 991 front lip on the 997
emc2design.com/porsche-997-front-lip-spoilers
997s are beeyooootifuuul!
🙏😃
Absolutely awesome get him back on with his car would like to see the mods
Amazing, thank you. 😃🙌🙏
Maybe we can do a walk around video and dive into some of the details. 🙌🙌
This is one of the cleanest 997.2s I've ever seen. What size are the BC Forged wheels he's running? Perfect fitment.
Thank you, the wheels are 19x9 and 19x12
which model BC FORGED are the wheels
If you are on IG you could reach out to him directly. I am not sure which model it is. I think it’s KL12
My man Peter! Freshest silver 97.2 out there. 😁
💯😃🙌 Peter has an eye for beauty 😃
Thanks Sean! 🙌
I absolutely love your car. I follow you on IG and now when I see the film I'm even more impressed how clean and tasteful this build is.
Thank you 😊
🙌👍😃
Great stuff, any chance we can get details of where all parts where purchased?
Appreciate the feedback. I have reached out to the owner and we are going to try do a podcast style episode where we will dive in to the build in detail and go over all the major mods and where he got it from.
Hope that will be good
It is a very funny thing about a Porsche there’s the moment you know you want one there’s the moment you first own one,; and for the truly afflicted, there is the decade or two that passes in between. Amost as good as "Fire the Chaueffer"
True story. I love this comment. 😃😍🙌😃
I understand. Completely. Thank you.
🙌😃
Nice shots of RPM Technik's CSR "Snakebite" with the cool interior mods. Been in that car and it's a great place to sit.
It is stunning
gorgeous 997! It is really elegant and powerful with the mods you did. I have a green Carrera 2s myself and am in love with it. It is the best generation with a compromise between digital and analog. And I agree that the 991s and 992s are VW 911s, not Porsches anymore.
Can you tell where you got the headlights and the front lip? thanks.
Thank you appreciate that. Regarding the lights The owner suggested to search for 997 D2S and here is what I came up with
www.ebay.ca/itm/184907453564?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20190917065201%26meid%3Db85d885195584a56a25b1aea4be46df2%26pid%3D100935%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D175424224845%26itm%3D184907453564%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2332490%26algv%3DSimplAMLv9PairwiseUnbiasedWebCpr08MlcGreedyV3&_trksid=p2332490.c100935.m2460&amdata=cksum%3A184907453564b85d885195584a56a25b1aea4be46df2%7Cenc%3AAQAHAAABAIxnp208POpAtEdSbeoza%252FtzyQmh2SBqORzgyIzbrfwKs8mDYiJnIRJg4GvE9THHqWx%252F2o3CjYp01jWIdtBE%252F8QAmjkzxXcK1TaU%252B54%252Bqu3crjnL1MXKP6qcQOGDumA1B3QlaHpYgaTDwCVBNdBdZjbCkq4D%252BuImRX89idbIGFmGT7ZR8wRXW9LsulkgYnDoE0aaJ0n5SrxWiCD7tdOBTADYArL0m0GPUNxehKLXxP0uGz4mJEsYYQDjoyuqq5UVH1BiWqi3usfVEe%252F%252BPec%252Bqln2LPsNUsAvqb011haQFUjIyQT3Rv1zURuTlHhJl4VfSRkEY40wb7JWMOPSqvHvJrI%253D%7Campid%3APL_CLK%7Cclp%3A2332490
Great mods and love the headlights!
💯💯🙌😃 the lights we my highlight 😃

Beautiful presentation of a stunningly beautiful car. Thank you!
I really appreciate that feedback and glad you enjoyed it.
Just came across your channel and this video- great content!
That’s awesome. Thank you for the support 🙏🙌😃
Great content! love the simplicity!
Thank you, I appreciate that 🙌😃🙏
Awesome vid yet again! Would love to see some driver POVs of some of these cars going through backroads
Appreciate the feedback man. Will try to incorporate it into future videos
Great car and story!! Definitely would love one bone stock for me, maybe exhaust for more sound
Definitely worth exploring for sure
Man very nice and clean car .if you don’t mind why size is that rims 18s or 19s? Thanks 💪🏼 love the car

Another amazing video 👏🏻
Thank you 🙏🙌😃 thank you for watching
Fantastic inspiration for a 997.2 C2S owner. I'm in the UK and struggling to find the fantastic headlights in the video. Can you give some specific details about the model and manufacturer. I also found the video of your exhaust mod. Fantastic! I've been thinking about a centre muffler delete as a starting point. Topgear and Hayward Scott are on my shortlist.
Ooweee that rides 🔥🔥🔥🔥 homie.....
🙏🙌😃
Great videa. I had a very similar experience. Couldn't find the right 997, so went with an Interlagos Blue e92 M3 manual, kept it for 2 years, and then found a 997.2 C2S manual, and jumped on it. Two very different cars, obviously, but both are great. I won't sell the 911 any time soon, but I do miss the e92's noise!
That’s amazing. 😃 thanks for sharing your journey. I am really wanting a E92, but I have the new M2 on order. It will be a game time decision closer to spring 😃
Well done. That Gundo hack almost(almost) kind of makes it sound air-cooled. Would have loved to hear a full pull to 7400.
Awesome idea for a future video. 🙌😃
Thanks, here's a sound clip of the exhaust: th-cam.com/video/o1QhFPF19_w/w-d-xo.html
@@911obsessed Sounds glorious! Well done!
Hi! Cool video! Is it possible to know the company that did the modern light!? Thanks!
The owner mentioned to search for 997 D2S on eBay,
Here is what I found
