My guy! Did ever see parts Pinocchio from the 40s? They were on what was called PLEASURE ISLAND! Where Pinocchio as a wooden boy smoked a massive cigar & Pinocchio and & one of the others he was with got & they turned into LITERAL JACKASSES. & I don’t remember how this exactly happened but in DUMBO also from the early 40s DUMBO got drunk to the point where he basically was seeing a pink circus. Also now The Lion King I’m not sure but I would tend to think that if you have jeiuls uncle who was annoyed by both his own brother & nephew. (Also might I add HE LITERALLY TRIED TO THE NEPHEW WHILE HE WAS IN GORGE)& frames said nephew & forces him into hiding & believing that lie for the like 5 or so he was in hiding than
All of those seem infinitely more messed up in all of cenerios.
I also like DREAMWORKS ANIMATION. But making it sound like Disney Animation doesn’t have any messed up scenes is just a bit disingenuous. Although mostly still a good video.

To be honest, A part of me has had this opinion since childhood and this is probably because I found dreamworks more entertaining than Disney. I still grew up with Disney though. More specifically, the Disney Renaissance. I would watch the first four movies as I grew up, Little Mermaid, Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, And Aladdin.

For me it’s hard to pick Disney to dreamworks, mostly because I grew up with Disney more as my 1st exposures to movies or actual any type of a media was a VHS player we had growing up and a bunch of VHSs (mostly Disney films and a few Pixar films infact the only movies we had on VHS were Prince Of Egypt, Road to Eldorado, Ants, Shrek 1 and 2) now we of course had a DVD player and some Dreamworks movies on DVD, heck they were several dreamworks movies I watched religiously but I still grew up with Disney more.
Also the only kids around my age growing up were girls, and were obsessed with Disney princesses, and as a kid I was a Disney princess fan too despite being a boy.
So because Disney was a huge part of my child hood I can’t bring myself to say wether or not it’s better or worse then dreamworks (even when taken a count of Disney’s lackluster reputation recently)

I use to watch a wide variety of animated films as a kid, including dreamworks animations. But I outgrew those movies. I still watch most of the animations I grew up on except for dreamworks. The only movies of theirs I still watch is Prince of Egypt, The Road to El Dorado, Spirit, Sinbad, Kung Fu Panda, and How to Train Your Dragon. I have zero interest in the rest of their filmography and think very poorly of them.

In terms of theatrical, yes. Dreamworks is somewhat better than Disney. Even if I love The Lion King, it's the only Disney outlier, as the rest of my favorite movies are usually from Pixar, Dreamworks, Illumination or Sony.
But for the television side, unfortunately... no. Even if Dreamworks did had some unique cartoon shows like She-Ra, Voltron and Mighty Ones, they don't have the same magic as Disney ones like Phineas and Ferb, Shnookums and Meat, the Paul Rudish Mickey shorts and Wander Over Yonder.

I mean, I like some DreamWorks movies like kung fu panda, the Prince of Egypt, DreamWorks, rise of the guardians, how to train your Dragon and Madagascar and Shrek. I like some Disney movies like Aladdin snow white, the little mermaid,
The lion king, Tron, Legacy and fox and the hound and Bambi! I also like Wreck-It Ralph, tangled and big hero six! Puss in boots, the last wish and ruby Gilman are my favorite too even though ruby Gilman could use a little bit more work! Disney has kingdom hearts, but DreamWork is really good at making good sequels! other non-Disney movies, I like are osmosis Jones, cats, don’t dance, swan, princess, Anastasia, the PageMaster, Ferngully, hoodwink, Fire, breather, cool world, and even Thumbelina don Bluth.😊

Despite being pretty big and strong, the whole “Strong female character” lead with Ginormica from Monsters vs Aliens was a lot less annoying compared to what is going on with Disney nowadays.
And even before Disney really went downhill, I prefer Shrek over most of Disney in general anyways.
And DreamWorks(for better and for worse)is more unpredictable.
And especially nowadays, I find characters like Shrek, Po and Hiccup more believable/relatable compared to a lot of the characters being cranked out nowadays by Disney too.

If you can't deny Pixar's golden age movies, then just prefer Pixar over Dreamworks. Besides, they were the pioneer of 3D computer CG animation. So you gotta give them all the credit for that. But I still like how you prefer Dreamworks over Disney because I find Dreamworks movies more entertaining than Disney movies.

IMHO, Disney was always the more "corporate" of the bunch, even with their movies being good sometimes. One has to remember the Disney Vault, that strike from the 1940s in which Walt Disney called the animators on strike "communists", calling their 2019 Lion King remake a "live-action remake" when really it's just realistic animation similar to Dinosaur(which is a movie in the Disney ANIMATED Canon), that town in Florida called Celebration, etc.

I haven't watched the video yet so idk if you bring this up at any point, but one major reason I agree with the title is that dreamworks has so many more meme-able characters. this may sound silly of me to say, but their films and characters usually have this kinda edgy yet hilarious grit to them that disney just does not. off the top of my mind, I would say that shrek, tighten, jack horner and grug fit that description. even their "trashy" films, at least the older ones, can still be enjoyed ironically (i.e. shark tale, bee movie) because they're so meme-able.

Dreamworks Studios and Disney Animations Studios are both very inconsistent in terms of animations and great reviews. Pixar Animations Studios however majority of their films are 💯 consistent and some of them even ranked the greatest animated films of all time. 😁😁💙💙

Majority of their movies have receive great to critical acclaim and had positive to amazing reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Inside Out 2 could work as a sequel since it focuses on Riley's teenage life and puberty and Elio might be a blockbuster hit since it's an original story. I think you people need to have an open mind and not just full on hatered and bias all the time. You guys just need to chill out understand. ☺️☺️

If I’m being honest, I don’t really like a lot of Dreamworks movies. The only one that I genuinely love is Megamind. I’ve just never really gotten into stuff like How to Train your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda. For me, Disney will always be superior, since the vast majority of their movies are timeless classics. Something that I personally don’t think Dreamworks can live up to.

DreamWorks lacks in the originality department. And their original stuff is a mixed bag. And what does DreamWorks have against beautiful 3D humans? Each one is various degrees on uncanny, from masculine facial structures (Shrek), to cartoony proportions paired up with overly detailed skin (Monsters vs Aliens), to human-like monsters/aliens (Ruby Gilman).
DreamWorks is to Disney when it comes to 3D animated movies, as to what Nickelodeon is to Disney when it comes to cartoons. They're anti-Disney, - they are *ugly* and *weird* most of the time

Eh, there plenty of room for both. Disney’s aesthetics are pretty and nice, but tend to be overly polished. That’s where the Dreamworks/Nickelodeon aesthetics come in and offer the weirdness, craziness, ugliness (or “ugcute” in some cases). Dreamworks is just there to prove that one doesn’t need beauty to have talent or creativity. Dreamworks is there to represent the everyman in a comedic way, Disney is there to represent idealism and dreams. They’re both valid.
