I hate that I used to be one of these anti-"woke" people. I'd watch The Quartering and nod my head along with it, I'd watch... ugh, Sargon of Akkad... That one I am really ashamed of. I think one of my past accounts comments is still a top comment on one of his videos and I think constantly about going to edit it like "I'm glad Sargon is finally accepting of his trans child and changed his views on different races." and having it still stay as top comment that he himself pinned. Anyways, I think if these came out back then, I'd have thought them terrible and would probably question my values. I can understand your frustration but this mostly felt like a Disney video rather then a New Norm video. Like why didn’t you just have both parties be there own videos, only 10 minutes of this involved Norm.

The renaissance May have created Disney adults but they’re not the reason why Disney is making so many live action remakes. Only like 3 of the renaissance so far have gotten remake so far, the 1st few remakes weren’t even of the renaissance, so how are they to blame?
Nostalgia is a powerful thing, even you have nostalgia for the bad dreamworks movies, so wether the renaissance films were good or bad people will have nostalgia over them. And how are you gonna hate on Disney but defend the live action remakes of Disney movies by saying “they’re for little girls, so you can’t Criticize them” that’s basically the same as defending a bad kids film by saying “It’s just a kids film”. Just because they’re made for little kids doenst mean they’re excuse form criticism. The original Disney princesses may have been made for little girls but the makers still kept the grownup’s thoughts in mind. After Walt himself said he didn’t want to make films JUST for kids, but for everyone to enjoy. Yes, I’ll admit as a grown man I am a Disney princess fan. You can make fun of me all you want for liking something you dislikes but idc. The original Disney princess films will forever hold a special place in my heart, like I said before the only kids around my age that played with me growing up were girls who loved Disney princesses, so I was that boy who would be playing princesses, Dolls and Disney princesses video games. Disney Princesses helped kid me made Friends. And Disney princess films (old and new) were parts of animated related memories. Me and my brother never got a long growing up, yet this 1 time when I was little me and them say down and watched Sleeping Beauty (I don’t remember if I asked them to watch it with me or they jsut wanted to watch something with me), my 1st movie period was a Disney princess Movie, my 1st movie I saw with my parents was a Disney princess movie, my 1st movie I saw with my cousins was a Disney princess movie, 1 of the 1st films I saw in theaters was a Disney princess movie. Cause of these events, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, and Frozen mean so much to me. I’m not gonna act like every princess is a multidimensional 100% perfect character, nor will I say there movies are masterpieces but they’re special to me. Like imagine they made a crappy live action remake of a Pixar film like toy story and you get upset then someone tells you “oh why are you, full grown man gettin mad at kids film?” That’s basically what you’re doing to us Disney fans. Yes some Disney fans are toxic but don’t actively defend a bad movie cause “You’re not the target audience”. Cause believe it or not some them have criticism that doesn’t revolve around wether or not the actress is white or not.

Since you went on the Disney rant, I have one criticism: it came off similar to saying "I don't like My Hero Academia because of the fan base". People don't want to get into MHA because of a small portion of the fans who do weird things. The fans who gas up the Disney Renaissance or constantly claim Disney is woke isn't the fault of Disney, so you're essentially letting other people influence how you perceive something. Not saying that's necessary bad, but like the MHA example, it's not a valid criticism against the creators. If you hate the Disney Renaissance, that's your opinion and I can't change that. But you shouldn't hate it just because other people feel strongly about it.

15:43 So true because the Disney renaissance and 90s Nickelodeon are both overrated because of how praised they are and they are responsible for how much both Disney and Nickelodeon has fell off over the years with Disney it was 2018-now and Nickelodeon was 2013-now, I only watch aladan, lion king, and beauty and the beast as a kid on dvd and never saw any of the 90s nick shows, I was really a late 2000s to 2010s kid
To add on top of that, I see the Disney adults the same way I see the young Nintendo TH-camrs who always rant about post DS/Wii era and saying bad things about 3ds, Wii U and few switch games and say the DS library is perfect but talks down to 3ds/wiiu library specifically Mario games from that era, makes me dislike the DS library the more and more I think about it because in reality they’re both good but one is way overrated
Pokemon did fall off after Gen 5 and especially after Gen 7. Gen 5 was the series peak. The massive lack of spinoffs post-gen 6 and Scarlet and Violent being as broken and unfinished as Sonic 06 are clear examples of Pokemon's fall from grace. However, the Switch is Nintendo's best console since the SNES and has a huge variety of awesome games. The only Nintendo series that struggled on Switch are Pokemon and the Mario sports titles. Mario RPGs and Mario Party are reaching a new renaissance, the best versions of all three mainline Xenoblade titles are in there, the best 3D and 2D Mario games ever in Odyssey and Wonder, the best and most popular Zelda games ever with the BotW and TotK duology, excellent ports of almost every single Wii U game, the best Fire Emblem ever in Three Houses, and so many other incredible games. The DS and Wii were great don't get me wrong especially with games like Wii Sports Resort and the DS Pokemon games including the spinoffs, but nothing beats the switch besides maybe the steam deck.
For me, Nickelodeon fell off in 2004.

While I'm not particularly upset that you hate popular Disney movies and I don't think it makes you a bad person, I do feel the need to point out that letting spite ruin nice things for you is a bad habit, and that I've seen a lot of people who just cannot control themselves and basically just devolve into hating on everything that's popular? It doesn't seem like it makes them happy. I'm just saying, it might be worth finding a way to cope with annoying people that doesn't give them control over what you allow yourself to enjoy. Because while annoying people might take new forms over the years, they aren't going away.
For me, dividing productions by gender never made sense, because as a tomboy, I was often bored with productions for girls (with a few exceptions), so yes, I usually watched productions for boys because there was something going on there, because how many cartoons can you imagine about pink and glitter? Yes, there were cartoons for girls who had more and touched on serious topics, but generally they were as sweet as Barbie (Not all Barbie movies are like that, but we must finally admit that the movies are not of good quality and a few gems do not change the fact that it is capitalist crap, I can stand the low budget, but the lackluster script is depressing, Among the more serious and better films with Barbie, the one with A Christmas Carol comes to mind because it was dark and Barbie was not a sweet person, on the contrary, she was a bad person becoming a better version and I consider this film one of the best, even though it is based on a book that is frequently adapted into films and refers to it, this is for me one of the best Barbie movies due to the development of the main character and her dimensionality)

It's tough on some level, because you'd assume by the title that Sleeping Beauty wouldn't be woke, but then it gets to the end and ruins everything.
"I'd rather not have great things if people respond negatively to them" is a way to get fed regular oatmeal over and over, and Beauty and the Beast, specifically, is a visually sumptuous movie that stands up very well; way more so than The SpongeBob Movie.
Eschewing objectively excellent things because they fed into Disney adults and "anti-SJW TH-camrs" is the definition of a Very Online Issue; it's refusing prime rib, not because you're a vegetarian... but because PETA complains about eating meat.
Most people just watched these and knew they were way better the Saturday morning cartoons that were peers at the time- it was a pretty fallow time period for animation- and a lot of the stuff out there now.
