    Today I want to talk to you about a highly popular health supplement called Athletic Greens (AG1). I've been taking it for a month now, and I have some important insights to share. Athletic Greens claims to be the ultimate solution for all your nutritional needs, but is it really worth the hefty price tag of £90 a month? Let's dive into the details.
    Athletic Greens doesn't disclose the specific amounts of the 75 ingredients it contains, making it impossible to regulate their benefits. This lack of transparency is a major concern when it comes to optimizing your nutrition.
    Considering the extortionate price and the lack of transparency, I won't be repurchasing Athletic Greens. It simply doesn't live up to the gold standard of nutrition. If you're interested in optimizing your health, it's important to make informed decisions about the supplements you choose.
    Join me in this video as we explore the pros and cons of Athletic Greens in detail, and discover why it might be better to reconsider your options. Don't let marketing hype sway you. Let's prioritize transparency and efficacy when it comes to our health.

    Apparently the affiliate marketing system gives the channel (who's discount code you use when you subscribe) 30% of your subscription fee. So that leaves a lot less in the pot to cover other costs including the manufacturer's profit margin and shipping.
    I think that 30% cut might have a lot to do with the positive recommendations.

      Where are you getting proprietary blend from? I just checked their website. It lists how much of everything is in 1 serving for AG1

    • @WARnTEA
      @WARnTEA ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mikehammond89 it doesn’t. Legally companies aren’t required to release the exact amounts of things in a proprietary blend. (Think of cocacola, you can’t expect them to list their secret formula on the can). This is a problem in the supplement world because people are buying specific amounts of vitamins/minerals. The good companies will list exactly whats in it, but most of the cheaper/bigger brands will have a proprietary blend.
      In supplements proprietary blends are used to cut corners on cost. Its so they can claim that they provide all the vitamins but by not disclosing the amounts and hiding them in a proprietary blend they don’t have to provide effective doses of those vitamins.
      Many of these ingredients are basically useless if you don’t take them in big enough doses.

    I think you did a really good job doing a critique just based on personal experience. And you are right 100% that the price is a significant point. I have been taking AG1 for about two months now. I bought it because I eat healthy, but but still lack a lot of vegetables in my diet.
    I take meds that back up my system something fierce. It has regulated my movements. I find it wakes me up in the morning better than coffee and I no longer feel I need a nap mid-day. I find it has also regulated my hunger. Right now I'm losing weight (2-3 lbs/week) and I'm not hungry. Now is that worth the money?!?
    So I buy the two month supply for $160. I also found that I get the same benefits listed above taking it every other day (3-4 times a week). That comes out to $40 per month... Much more doable.
    Are there better and cheaper alternatives, I'm sure there are, you just proved it. Still, AG1 is quick and easy so I'll give it a few more months and see if it's something I still want to pay for.
    Thanks again for the video.

    Good points. I don't expect any greens product to supply everything, but am disappointed that the potassium and Magnesium is not at a daily requirement level. I am taking those minerals by pill form now and am looking for a method that does not require me to make my own. Storing enough vegetables for 8 cups a day is overwhelming. I'm looking for a supplement that covers part of the need. And I am tired of throwing rotten vegetables away that I can't get to quick enough. THAT is expensive too; quite likely more than the $108/month (US).

    Taz, I'd agree with all your points here. Having taken multiple different supplements over the last 30 years, I recently gave AG1 a go for two months after seeing Derek @ more plates, more dates give a shout-out to the product. $94 a month (I'm in the US), and I've felt no benefits. I do not take any supplements besides Whey Isolate and eat as cleanly as possible. The proprietary blend is a big red flag for me, even more so than the so-so taste. IMO the cost is directly related to the lavish marketing, packaging, and sponsorship of influencers ( Derek @ More plates included!)

  • @rexdv8
    @rexdv8 ปีที่แล้ว +120

    I think AG is great for those who are intermittent fasting. You can still get all of your vital nutrients while only eating one meal a day. If you break it down, you would be spending more than $100 U.S. dollars on that food anyway (if you were eating 2 or 3 meals a day). People will spend $5 on a cup of coffee practically every morning, but they won't spend $3 and some change every day on a glass of nutrients (far better for you than a cup of acidic coffee). If some place like Starbucks made you pay $100 at the end of each month for your coffee allowance, people would say that's too high. It's psychological. People don't notice how much they're spending until after they have already spent it.

    There's something to be said about bioavailability and also competing products in the same category as AG1 that weren't addressed in this video. I'd be curious to know if the value proposition changes. Also the form of pre and probiotics matters. Eating a cup of yogurt every day is a good probiotic and doesnt generally hurt anyone. How is that different from what's in the pill vs what's in AG1...interesting questions

    sorry maybe I misunderstood something but there is an analytical list of ingredients with quantities (u show it). How exactly isn't the exact quantity referred-is to it measured with some statistical sampling or its theoretical perfect division? Do you mean because it is randomly mixed and contains multiple dosages you may scoop the imperfect dosage, assuming in excess = harmful? if so how likely is it to take an unhealthy dose of ashwagandha, lottery+metorite in head lucky? I would hope there are some regulations about the quantities they mention at such a price. Same for excess probiotics. Thank you for this review
