Ruzaini used to have a canteen in UN compound and I ate at his Canteen for 2 years when I worked for UN in Malaysia. His food is one of the best malaysian food I've ever had. I wish you all the success!

not only Ramadan, even normal times, Malaysians are living in budget and eating more at home. RM150 before 2019 used to get me a trolley full of items, but that money just get me not even half of the trolley.

I know the feeling before Covid like in 2017 or 2016 everything was so much more affordable
Now it’s like you have to check on the prices for everything

The irony during ramadan. People are fasting thus eat less, but in much better quality. Ordinary people who usually consume chicken suddenly need to cook beef for iftar, and they will buy it even if it's 2x more expensive, because it's "special" occasion for them. I live in indonesia and consumerism during ramadan is quite crazy

In places like Klang Valley, thats only 45% of the population are fasting. The rest are Chinese, Indians and Foreigners

Everyone is feeling the pinch right now , it's being expected year on year , Ramadan taught us to be grateful with less, and be thrifty with our budget.

The title is a bit shocking to me. During a commonly required time of fasting, the food prices increase??? I know less is being consumed, but can’t the nation strive against this blatant form of capitalism??? Sad.

Save money by staying with parents and eat whatever in the restaurant that you own. Instead of drinking cafe latte out everyday, drink 3 in 1 coffee packet at home. Instead of eating luxury food, put that budget into normal food.
