    So after using the AASD servo drivers for my rig and with how cheap you can get them bundles with servo motors i have been wondering if anyone would ever be able to get a Direct Drive FFB Wheel up and running with one.. Then i stumbled upon a post on Hackaday.io and someone had done just that! . Using an STM32F407 Discovery board and running MMOS he was able to achieve this. I then set out to try and build one myself. His post is in Chinese and i had to work with google translate to figure out what was needed but with the help of his pictures i was able to make some sense of it.

    How did you get the software part of your rig to work? All the telemetry translated into actuator motions. This is very impressive!

    • @peacemakermotion3949
      @peacemakermotion3949  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey mate, I use a program called FlyPT Mover.. there are others like Simtools as well. They grab the telemetry data and create a motion model based on your type of rig and then send the actuator movements to the Thanos controller, where those movements are then send to your individual actuators :)

    I want to build a DIY FFB with a stepper motor instead of a servo because it's cheaper. Do you think it's possible to build it with a Nema 34 85kgf.cm, driver DM860A 7.2A and 80VDC power supply? Do you think I'll feel every step or it's going to be smooth setting with 40000 cpr?
