      @gustavogoesgomes1863 ปีที่แล้ว +68

      @@TheCardPlayer I broke my arm skating and literally knew a guy on physiotherapy that broke his arm driving a semi truck. he lost a bit of control, the car drifted up a curb and the steering wheel snapped so hard and unexpectedly that his arm got stuck and broken. even go karts have pretty heavy steering and communicates oversteer and grip through "force feedback", if we are going to call it that way. what are you basing yourself onto?

    • @TheCardPlayer
      @TheCardPlayer ปีที่แล้ว +20

      @gustavogoesgomes1863 I have cracked a palm bone holding the steering wheel as well. Not because of feedback though. That happens only if a wheel crashes onto something and the impact force gets directly transferred up the steering column. In any other condition, even in a crash, the steering wheel is simply dead.

    Having driven formula type cars, this isn't how it is. The steering is quite smooth and it does not fight you like that, depending on the car but i'd say around 7-12nm is what's required to turn. The thing that gives you the real workout is the g-forces while turning, that's why most racingdrivers have large necks to support those forces.

    Your experience with getting whacked by the steering wheel makes me so glad I didn't get that DD2 that was on sale on Black Friday. I have a similar wheel so I'd probably get hit the same way as you. On a totally separate subject, I actually got my wrist caught in between the gap between the handle and the flat part and the wheel slowly turned and so my arm was slowly being twisted. Thankfully it stopped after it hit 90 degrees. I had a 8Nm CSL DD. My wrist would have been broken if I had your base.

    So question.. why does it go nuts and potentially break fingers/wrist/etc when you crash? Like.. I love the force it gives when in use.. but can't you disable it from spinning like crazy when you crash to avoid injury? Give me all the force until its about to go nuts, then just stop.. or release the force so it spins freely? I been really eyeing the Asetek 27nm unit.. but my CSL DD at 8nm is pretty strong. I'd love the higher capability to tone it down so it has plenty of head room, doesnt heat up, etc.. but at 27nm.. isn't that pretty dang dangerous and could easily snap wrist/finger bones?

    Should the game not simply (gradually) cease FF in a single motion when the car is out of control, let alone into a wall? What added value is there to rip your hands off in a crash?

    1Nm = = 0,102 kg 20NM=2,04kg a Meter. If the diamiter of the wheel is 20cm = (2,04*5) =10,2kg

      I’m not sure I know what you’re asking..? Would I consider going from a DD1 to a DD2 or would I go back to a CSL DD? I think 20nm is relatively overkill and most people probably dont need/notice it! I think around 10-ish nm is the sweet spot

      You're confused. DD1 is already 18nm. The CSL DD and GT DD Pro are at 8nm, which he doesn't use here.
      Answer : dd1 is plenty enough power, don't go dd2. Real racing cars are smooth and require low effort to steer. At the same force, DD1 is going to be better than the CSL DD because of the increased resolution. More, finer details basically
