Your recipes are absolutely amazing. So many delicious ideas for those of us on low carb lifestyle you are a Godsend. Have a brilliant day, you deserve it.
Thanks for the Recipe. Because of the great "Cream Cheese Shortage of 2022" I stocked up (for no good reason) and have 4lb sitting in my fridge, and no idea what to do with it. This gives me a great excuse to make these.
Okara Flour is an alternative to Coconut Flour for anyone who just hates the taste of coconut flour in certain recipes. It acts the same without the flavor.
I was so excited to make them. But they came out falling apart. I let them stay in oven 1 hr to cool off. White under and couldn’t hold the shape. Your recipe asked for 16 oz cream cheese way more than need. Also I had to add 2 C of the flour to hold into a ball shape. Not sure if recipe ratios were right
From what I know of Spanish bar cake it is basically a layered spice cake that is baked in loaf pans instead of full-size cake pans. If this is what I'm thinking of you can use my spice cake or carrot cake recipe (just omit the carrots) and bake it in Two 8 x 4-inch loaf pans instead of the 8 x 8-inch cake pan. You can use my vanilla or cream cheese frosting for the layers
The best egg substitute for this recipe is flax egg. You can also check out my article on egg substitutes that work with coconut flour janetsdeliciouslowcarbkitchen.com/egg-substitutes-that-work-in-low-carb-baking/?amp=1
No almond flour is not a 1 to 1 substitute for coconut flour. Coconut flour requires a lot more liquid and eggs. You would need to almost double the flour if you used almond flour in this recipe and no guarantees it would work
You're welcome. I have a lot of great bread and bun recipes. Check out my bread and pasta playlist on my channel page. My favorite are my sub sandwich buns and my Kaiser rolls
The glaze recipe is in the written recipe. The link is in the description. The filling recipe is in the video and also in the written recipe. The red filling in the thumbnail picture is just sugar free strawberry jelly
Eggs are best with coconut flour but you can check out my article on egg substitutes. The best egg substitute are flax eggs in my opinion. Just keep in mind any substitutes in a recipe can slightly effect the taste and texture. janetsdeliciouslowcarbkitchen.com/?s=egg+substitutes
Hi Janet, I just found this video and the Danish looks yummy. On the nutrition count, 1 Danish is 1 g carb and 15 calories, is that correct? They both sound low to me, but I just started keto a few days ago so I am double checking everything, thank you so much
Yikes that is way off. Thank you for letting me know that's the second one that has tweaked out on me after I posted. I have corrected the nutritional information on the written recipe. Sorry about that
Unfortunately almond flour is not a one for one substitute for coconut flour. Coconut flour requires much more liquid and eggs. You can try possibly cutting the amount of eggs and liquid in half and working from there but no guarentees
I would have appreciated a typed recipe rather than having to write down the ingredients while watching the video. Most frustrating. Will now go make these and see how they do for me. Thank you for the recipe, instructions, and comments in the video.
Oh hell no these are way too many ingredients too much work know I prefer to buy them already done and being keto friendly then to make them your way this is too much!
I'm not sure about this recipe sounds like way to much sweetener? To much Sweeteners are not good for the body. I personally have no interest in this recipe because of over dosing sweeteners. My opinion only. Please don't take offense.
Thanks for using cups and ounces helpes greatly
You're welcome
Homemade Keto friendly raspberry jam would be a nice filling alternative; saved to my recipe repertoire.
I am planning on posting a video on keto jelly. I hope to post it soon
Do you have pictures of the danishes opened so we can see the texture of the dough?

Can I use almond flour?
No unfortunately coconut flour cannot be substituted with any other flour. It is very absorbent and requires a lot more liquid and binders.

A&P grocery stores sold Spanish Bar Cake in the 60's. Do you have a low carb version? TY

super. thx

I appreciate the fact this is gluten free; so many people are using carbquick for “keto” baking but many of us on keto can’t have gluten.
I am glad this recipe is helpful
These look amazing!
Thank you

Lofthouse cookies using coconut flour would be nice
Yum. Lofthouse cookies are amazing. I will see what I can come up with
Can one also use almond flour
No almond flour is not a 1 to 1 substitute for coconut flour. Coconut flour requires a lot more liquid and eggs. You would need to almost double the flour if you used almond flour in this recipe and no guarantees it would work
Thanks it looks really good, do you have a good and simple keto bread recipe that isn’t too grainy to taste?
You're welcome. I have a lot of great bread and bun recipes. Check out my bread and pasta playlist on my channel page. My favorite are my sub sandwich buns and my Kaiser rolls

how many calories?
I just now added some nutritional information to the bottom of the written recipe. I hope it helps

It’s not a Danish pastry it’s too doughy, it was a flop. 😢

Good ideas but talk to much wasting time
I AGREE 💯

The sweetener can be adjusted according to taste
