Ooh, looks delicious! Glad you and your family enjoyed them; no taste test needed for us. I wonder how to make onion buns now - I bet I could cut small bits of onions and carmelize them in a pan before adding to the top of the bun, then baking the buns. Gawd, now I'm hungry, lol. Thanks Janet!
Thanks for this! Super excited to give these a shot... I've been wanting a decent hoagie bun and will save out a bit of the dough to shape into a hotdog bun and let you know how it goes!
@@JanetsDeliciousLowCarbKitchen I finally got around to making the hoagie. It comes close? The coconut taste is still predominant even after using garlic & onion powder, yeast & Italian seasoning.
I'm making these in my oven as I type. You didn't say anything about the delicious smell. 😊 I can't wait to have these as our cheese burger buns tonight.
Janet, do you have a good low-carb Keto Quiche Lorraine recipe? The only high carb component in quiche s the pie crust, so I normally just make mine crustless. But if you have a keto pie crust that doesn't require almond flour & comes out reasonably flaky instead of soggy, I'd love to try it.

Same question but I would think you would just need to adjust temperature or time a little bit and hang around the kitchen to test. She says 30-35 minutes until golden and tester comes out clean--the tester is what will tell you, and the aroma. I just use a toothpick.
@@pattijesinoski1958 Yes you can just remember to grease. Coconut flour baked goods are fragile when they are warm that's why I prefer silicone molds. It makes it much easier to remove the buns. If you use a metal pan the cook time may vary a little
@@johndavis48076 Unfortunately low carb baking can be higher in fats and calories. This is especially true for coconut flour. You need the extra fats to create moisture and a light baked good. You can try substiting it out with some low fat yogurt or cottage cheese but I can't guarantee the same result
@@JanetsDeliciousLowCarbKitchen can I use other fats in place of olive oil? Butter, tallow, lard, etc? If I melt them will it work? Olive oil is very expensive (and I hate the taste 😅)
not tried it yet, it's only been up 7 hours! At 4:30 she says they don't rise or expand much so whatever shape you pat them out to is what you get. Although results may vary from cook to cook, if you compare the appearance at 6:00 and 6:12 they really did not change size much and stayed the same shape. She does say you can place them on parchment on a baking tray if you don't have a burger bun pan.
@@KatElectraGlide I have not tried these in an air fryer my concern would be they might dry out quickly or the outside may get brown before the inside is fully cooked so keep a close eye on them

Is the yeast supposed to be for activating rising or only flavour? Bx
@@bixnash1 The yeast is optional and it's just for flavor. Coconut flour baked goods don't really rise no matter what
