- Join us for a food hunt here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 🇲🇾
Today we headed to UTC Sentul in Bandar Baru KL and we were not disappointed with what we found!
We had an incredible nasi kerabu aswell as some classic kuih, fresh dragonfruit and delicious south Indian food.
This area might be one of our new favourites for eating in KL. There is so much food around here and its all surprisingly affordable!

"Mek" = Is the general reference to a Lady in Kelantan ... so Mek must be the Mum... and they are Kelantanese...
Salted Egg is Salted Duck Egg... not my favorite... the Yolk gets sandy/chalky ... but it's not Nasi Kerabu without the egg...
Are you missing the Keropok / Fish crackers? (haha)
@@rizlanghazali985 I went and got us some Keropok!! Maybe I forgot to. Film. Sorry!
Let me tell you this. You’re not only eating like locals, you’re eating like real east coasters in Malaysia! Bravoooooo!- sincerely from an east coaster 😊

Bandar baru Sentul UTC super 👍 mantap banyak pilihan menu kt UTC
Great food everywhere!
Love to see you both are well versed with our local Malay food and like it very much.... Nasi Kerabu is also my favourite... and you already know that you have to mix it all to get the blend taste that makes the taste a lot better than trying it alone bit by bit,..
We love Malay food 🙏🇲🇾
13:13 the fruit stall lady said “naga” which means dragon in Malayu, dragon fruit = buah naga.
Got it!
Once you can cope with malay food, then you will start to love Malaysian food! 1 more thing, our people normally dont take any advantage to foreigners in term of price.
We eat everything! Malaysian food is great for us. And of course we trust everyone we don't even ask price most the time as Malaysian people don't lie
Another great content guys...It makes me want to try Nasi Kerabu now... and I'm Malaysian 😀
Ahah thanks!

OMG. Thank you for this video. Wonderful. It's so good to see UTC Bandar Baru Sentul, KL, once again. All the food and kueh looked so good and delicious.
I used to live in Menara Orkid, Bandar Baru Sentul, just next to the UTC, your video brings back so much memories. I lived there from 1997 to 2014, almost two decades. It's just sad and bad that I have to let go of my apartment, after I suffered a second depression, after coming back from working and living in Mumbai for 3 years, I lost my job, my steady income, my only apartment in KL. No matter what, life goes on, dreams must go on. Wow, the nasi kerabu looked amazing, it must have been really delicious. Sorry that I have shed some of my personal past with you. Wonderful vlog. 😀
You should also check the pasar malam, open night markets in that area.
26:30, that's Menara Orkid on the left, just next to UTC, minutes away is the Sentul LRT station, and right in front of the apartment is a bus stop and more street food. It's such a strategic location to stay.
There was soo much good food around here!!!
@@EllisWR Wonderful. 😀
OMG Malaysian food looks amazing! I would definitely put on weight there! I got a song coming out next year called Silly Sausage! Haha love that saying!
Ahah yes weight gainer
Wow, a lot of food there.
So good too
You guys are really into experiencing various cultures! Cool.
Thanks alot my friend
Great video, i wouldn't know where to start with that to be honest, i need to be more experimental and go for it ahha
Just ask people mate everyone is always more than happy to show you how to do stuff or eat stuff if its your first time, people here are dead nice
@@EllisWR not used to the friendliness of people over here yet. Unreal how nice everyone is.
The dosa that you ate had coconut chutney in the middle. And the one with lady’s finger was Sambar. Quite surprised the third thing with it was Dal, generally it is served with is potato Masala. Thanks for sharing your day!
Maybe I'm wrong!!
Wow.. you guys eating nasi kerabu like local people.. with hand.. thumbs up.. awesome guys👍👍
Thanks so much
You guys are killing the nasi kerabu, exotic fruits and desserts everyday. SOOOO LUCKY!
It's heaven ahah
Food looks so good 👍
Was amazing!
So many kueh mueh 😊I love it vry much...yummy

Thks for sharing UTC sentul food court, what a gem. Will definitely catch a grab frm Kg Baru to eat there 👌

Kelantanese dishes are so good awesome guys...
They so delicious
Im gonna look for nasi kerabu😋
Mmm yes
Nasi kerabu always my fav 😄😄😊
Always sooo good
The middle sauce in the dosa platter is a Coconut chutney. In a proper Indian restaurant there will be many types of chutney, mango, onion, red cocnut, white coconut.. Should go for a Indian Banana Leaf lunch at Brickfields also not forgetting Indian deserts too
Yes we will have to try!
@@EllisWRdosa is sinner in malay. So please feel sin if not take it😂
The name of dishes just rolls off his tongue 😊 The main stretch of food outlets in Kampung Baru has a Kelantanese restaurant if you've not been there.
What's the name?!
@@EllisWR Kak Som, Kampung Baru
9:30 that pineaple dish is called "pajri nanas" or "paceri nanas", I believe it's of Indian subcontinent origin. It's my favourite. If I own a Ramly Burger stall, I would blend the pajri nenas into paste/jam consistency and smack some onto my burgers and calli it "hawaiian burger, Malaysian style".
That sounds so good you need to. Start that business
your hand handling food is good
🙏
You channel is so underrated
Appreciate that 🙏
I see you happy, I am happy.❤
Thanks my friend ❤️
We have too nasikarbu in Yala my home town, sada.very much yummy!

Hey!!
Nasi kerabu ambassador!!!!
Ahahah that's us
After watching your food, I had Malay food as well, sedap
Love it
There is a food court in jalan duta kl, which serve underatedly good food, there might be of your interrest as well
Ooo we should. Go look
Another hot spot is Warung Ambo at Laman Glenmarie. Come early tho. It's packed on weekends and by 11 for lunch on weekdays
Good recommendation thanks!
Dosa with coconut chutney is the perfect combo.
So good ain't it
When the lady boss was recording your girlfriend eating her nasi kerabu, the lady boss was saying in Malay how smart she is at mixing up the rice. She had a real proud look on her face. :') It was probably the first time she had any foreigners visit her stall. Also fun fact, not sure if you know this, but UTC stands for Urban Transformation Centre. UTC buildings are government-run buildings that offer government services such as renewing your ID card, passport, driver's license, etc. It's great that such an amazing food court is found there.
Oh that's so nice yeah they were lovely the stall owners 🙏🙏🙏🇲🇾
i think fried chiken in malaysia so delicious because they usingmalaysia palm oil for cook
Really? It's the best in world
No. Not the oil. We take care of the chicken in the farm, just like japanese take care of wahyu cows.
Kfc and mc d also good tasty chicken
@@keangwooichoo6138 Fast food is the devil
I ❤ to watch your channel.....you should try Borhan Nasi Kerabu in Danau Kota, Setapak not that far from UTC, Bandar Baru Sentul about 5 - 7km. They also have Nasi Dagang and Nasi Berlauk there.
Wow looks so good I have saved we will visit one day 🙏
This is my area.. you can explore more food gem in Sentul
Really good area!
น่าทานทั้งนันเลย
Yeah have you tried?!
Think dosa originally from India as there’s a place in Blackburn UK that I go & it’s a kerelan restaurant called thira. The masala dosa that they do is so good
Sounds top
You guys have to try the fried chicken / nasi kandar at Restoran Saffron in KL. It's literally the best fried chicken I've tasted.
Sounds super
That's a healthy meal..blue rice with fresh veges. Throw in a glass of teh tarik madu...what more can you ask for?
Healthy meal. Suku suku separuh 😂
Bloody perfect meal
Teh ais madu 😋🥤 super sedap n popular in mlysia
So delicious
Kuih Lapis = Layer Cake , coconut milk & rose
The thing about Kuih is that most of that is steamed cakes, and at most made of only 4 ingredients at most, Rice Flour, Coconut Milk, Sugar in one form or another, Pandan Leaf
Thanks for the info always
you are very adventurous. went to places only known to locals
Yeah we love to do this
You should come to visit Sarawak and Sabah to bro.
Where over there is good and not touristy?
Love you're vlog , From TH♥
Thanks really appreciate it!
Bruh that Nasi Kerabu looks 🤤
Was honestly soooo good
Long time no see
Here I am
Nise nsi kbrabu
So good
Awesome nasi kerabu but not all are equal. The chilli for the solok lada is not like they use in Kelantan which is lighter in colour and to me tastes better.
They told us they get all their chilli's from Kelantan
hi great video it makes me hungry for nasi kerabu, my all time favourite, for your info 'Budu' is made from fermented anchovies very much similar to 'Lea and Perrins Worcerstershiresauce, could it be that they copied it frm budu? or the other way round? its for me to know and for you to find out, have a great food hunting day guys
Ahah thanks for watching
❤❤❤...
❤️❤️❤️
Ayam goreng berempah. I just ate for lunch just now. Ate 8 pieces

Nasi Kerabu >>>>> nasi lemak.
Nasi Kerabu is 🏆 of all rice dishes.
@@Ted_Locotu je la slack sikit. Takpe, kita boleh push untuk peniaga nasi kerabu untuk guna pewarna asli

I didn't see Your Hair Tail at the back...I thought You have it Cut....😊
I could never cut it
Hows the pickle garlic compared to england's pickle onion?
Bloody well good here England is terrible for food
Ah, Sentul. My primary school is somewhere there - La Salle (of Saint John La Salle), built by the Jesuit missionaries. Now, I'm in Glasgow.
Great place. Where's better?
@@EllisWR on the fence about it for real. With no intentions to be diplomatic about it, I can't compare Scotland and Malaysia: each with its own charms, people, culture and cuisine. 🤗
Hahaha.....many places are called Bandar Baru. Its mean new town. Usually it is followed by name of the area
It means bukan it's mean.
Sorry ahah
your chili tolerate is high now

You should see chinese stalls. 1 stall = 100 dishes.
We've eaten lots of Chinese food here too!
Yeah Ellis....your taste bud gone local...
Love these foods
25:35 Nasi Kerabu Sushi Roll 😲 sounds weird tho 😂🤣😂🤣
