Join us on our first day here in Chennai, South India.
We spent the day wandering the chaotic streets, got our first taste of proper Indian food and met loads of lovely local people along the way.
We're gonna be working our way through Tamil Nadu all the way to the Southern tip of India 🇮🇳

@@EllisWR i say fly to Dhaka first. Thats the capital. Old Dhaka is a must kind of sensory overload but really good food there. Biriyani, kababs etc. Gulshan area is like modern dhaka area but also good food and hotels. Aso head to Cox Bazar thats where longest beach in the world is and beautiful ppl and good food. Also visit Sylhett it has tea gardens everywhere and best natural beauty. I am from Dhaka where i lived first 16 yrs of my life and now live in Canada for last 20 years :) . Have seen lot of youtubers vlogged from Bangladesh. Check out Brent Tim , Harry Jaggard.

OMG you guys are in my hometown. I do miss my south indian breakfast and the food in India in general. Be prepared to be mind blown as each region has its own cuisine. Hope you guys have a great time but stay safe, and I would suggest that you guys get used to the place before you try any street food. Rock on and I look forward to seeing your other videos.

Actually you're misleading the people who aren't from india . You merely showed 5 percentage of chennai . Chennai has so many good and developed places like Nungambakkam annanagar and such and also places like zoo museum library and more historical places and even restaurants and modern day cafes from turkish baklava to japanese mochi . Please explore that too
We're not interested in developed modern places anywhere in the world. I'm here to eat Indian food, if I want mochi I would go to Japan and baklava go to Turkey aha.
South is More different than North in various factors like Food,Culture etc.

The guys accompanying you guys briefly @15:47 is probably one of the most authentic midday experience you can get in Chennai. When you asked him where he was headed, He told you that he is on his way to purchase cheap liquor from he government endorsed liquor shops as soon as they open for the day. He probably spent his days earning on a small bottle of very strong liquor and dozed off in a corner somewhere.

Great first India video! India is high on our list as well. The food looked good and very afforable. It does seem a lot like Vietnam, but busier. Wheb you tried to get money was it the other banks denying you or your bank not working at the other banks/atm? Can't wait to see more!
Hey guys you should definitely visit its an experience! Ridiculously crazy though almost a battle to get through the days. One minute you love life then the next you want to jump in a bin.
The food is the cheapest we've ever seen you'll see in upcoming videos, and the bank was just not working but there are a few Atms that work without fees - the one I showed in video works and then. State Bank of India is great too!

It is so nice to see you and your girlfriend stay in modest budget hotels, travel in city buses, try out roadside eateries, and walk your way through the crowded streets of Indian cities. For most Europeans a trip to India would mean staying in 5-star hotels with all their trimmings, and being chauffeured around in air-conditioned cars to be shown only those sights that are worthy of being put on a picture postcard. I wish I could be as intrepid as you two when it comes to trying out street food. Bravo!

One suggestion: I understand it can get a little overwhelming in the northen part so if you are planning to visit Chennai again start from central Chennai, then go south and then from there after you've explored quite some places go north of Chennai.
Trust me it would be a different experience then. :)

That dosa presentation was great❤ but always take masala dosa filled with potato and it's not spicy at all so should try one.

its so busy because you chose the busiest part of the city ( this part of the city is mainly focused on business that is why it is always active, it is a market ), this place is not for the starters who want to travel here.

In case you haven't had dosa before typically its suppose to have a filling like "masala potatoes". I'd order that next time it's very good.

My math teacher was from Madras when I was studying at UT. He got a job offer from GM as statistician soon after. Very intelligent guy. His hometown is quite intimidating to me, though, guys. The noise from the traffic is driving me insane. 😁
The people in this state are super educated! It's so intimidating your right, hard to deal with!!
@@EllisWRyou hit the point, the educated mass is what made this state highly progressive in the country. Enjoy your stay. Keep exploring the deep south as much as you can. Tamil Nadu offers all kind of variety from beautiful hills, forests, temples, culture to chaotic cities.
Have fun. Our family has been there and experienced all this. Even my Indian friends are like "Avoid India, it's too much chaos". You may have been there a bit now, you will learn that being too outgoing just results in people trying to rip you off. It's a ruthless poverty stricken situation there.
Ahah it is absolute chaos unlike anywhere else. Luckily we're in Tamil Nadu which is seemingly unlike other parts of India. People are very educated, hospitable and have a lot of respect! I think Northern India where more people visit is a pain to travel!!
