I'm saw this video two days ago and have ordered a D8 from Xtool, i have a D7 and was happy with it, but the D8 does so much more. Watching your video sold me on buying the D8.
*One of the best decisions I've man throughout life lol. I bought the D8 ahead of most people when it was like $850 but I've made that back at the least 7 times in REAL CASH return, and not to mention saving a few thousand on my own vehicles*
I have this scan tool which I purchased 2months ago and love it.still working out on how everything functions but slowly learning how it works.it be awesome if u had a video explaining more on how everything works and how to use and work ur way thru the software for different functions 👍🏽
My Xtool D7 recently received a new software update and now it has almost all functions of the D8 for several hundred dollars less. I tried it on a B8 Audi and it had all functions of ODIS (VW dealer scan tool). It ran circles around it in speed and ease of use. It does complete scan in less than 5 seconds.
No. inside every module there is an extra "special functions" button in the D8 that the D7 does not have. Also I've seen the wired D8 for under five hundred now.

Great review. One word of caution. Some Special Functions and Actuator tests need specific procedures followed before running. Like in the case of the diesel reductant QUANTITY Test, the injection must be removed and the fluid captured in a graduated cylinder to measure the amount. -There are no warnings about this. You are expected to know what you’re doing!
Great comment. I am what I consider an advanced amateur so the scanner is useful . But some of the special functions, I would not feel comfortable doing because I need all the handholding I can get. You bring up a very valid point. Thanks.

That's a great looking scanner. I just ordered one after seeing this video. This is the most informative video I have seen on this scanner - and I have watched a lot of them deciding which scanner I was gonna buy.
i was looking to get D9S but it have 6500mAh battery with bigger screen & that mean the battery will not last long without charging! while the D8W 10000mAh with small screen & i was disappointed! thats was really weird for me! but still D8 is a beast. Xtool nailed it with their tools awesome features & subscription & prices! i bought D8W & it's in the way. 1748
I bought that scanner about 6 months ago but returned it for full refund because it did not communicate with the PCM on a 96 camry and 02 grand caravan. It did communicate with the grand caravan TCM but not its PCM. Xtool Technical support could not resolve the issue after numerous attempts. It was assumed that vehicles were just too old that xtool's software/firmware did not go back that far. Be Mindful if you plan on using it on older vehicles and consult first with xtool before buying

Retired 69 still undecided on getting the xtool d8. Slightly over my budget. I just work on my family's autos. Should I order from Amazon or Ebay, that's my dilemma. Lots of counterfeit fake stuff out there

It asks about your car my friend. Not your country. Some cars manufactured in Japan and u.s. I think I can sit and play with this all day. This is a cool scan tool .. it actually by Car Care and Nut who also worked at Toyota and now he did TH-cam and had his own shop.
No they are the same scan tool, from the reviews i have read, people say the bluetooth one will sometimes loose connection, to me id rather have wired plus its nice to charge the scanner while its plugged into a vehicle.
Purchased this scanner in hopes of saving some money on updating my Snap-On Solus Edge and as the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for". Disappointed and returned it right back to Amazon after a few days. Where to begin. Well, right off of bat, it did not support any vehicles after 2022 even after all the current updates were performed. I attempted to connect it to a 2023 Jeep and it stated that the 12+8 adapter cable is needed. I suspected this due to the Security Gateway Module that Chrysler and many other car manufacturers are installing on some 2018 and newer vehicles. So this tool will be obsolete very quickly. I connected to four other OBD2 equipped vehicles ranging from mid 90's to 2010 and it would not auto connect. Had to manually input the vin# and afterwards was slower than a snail race to connect. When it finally connect, the data information and readings were so sporadic from vehicle to vehicle when watching some of the sensors, such as the engine temperature and the transmission temperature, that immediately I had doubts on the reliability of this scanner. Modules that two of the vehicles I know for a fact were equipped, such as the BCM and ICM, the scanner was not able to connect or an error occurred. I suppose for a weekend warrior or shadetree mechanic it may be satisfactory if all your doing is clearing codes and some basic functions. At the end of the day it rings true, you get what you pay for. Sorry to say!
This clearly paid commercial. Nothing else. This tool nothing better than Bluedriver which is also gives you a Freeze frame and mode 6. Might be you thinking of programming the car??? Are you kidding me? In front of you will be a car/truck cost 10 to 150k and you can dramatically destroy it with this chinese toy unless you ASE certified and know about those letters on the screen of this chinese toy. Respect yourself and buy a Snap-on. Don’t be cheapass - they usually pay twice if not 10 times more… Use Bluedriver or alike or Pay professionals to do their job. Nerves cost more, trust me!!!

Thank you. So far I have only seen you and scannerdan take the time to show live data and it's refreshing rate. I like that you can plot several tp's and record but the refresh rate was slower than the Top Don Phoenix. The Phoenix shows real time AP and TB actuation as you press and release gas pedal. Can this scanner show real time or is there a big or noticeable delay? Other than that it looks like a good DIY option. Great video, thanks again.
Thanks, it is real time with maybe a second or 2 delay like most scanners its not instant. I personally am not a fan of x tool anymore, as time goes on itll keep requiring you to update it in order for it to be usable, I am worried once the free subscription runs out it wont be much use. My current go to is my ancel V6 Pro, I use it quite regularly and have not had any issues so far.
I watch the video. I was impressed with the tool you maid navigating through this video look easy but I guess it helps with. Your background being a tech for the dealership. But all in all I liked it very much I'd like to see more so if you plan on doing another video maybe on transmissions I'd like to see if it can help me out I have a problem coad on my ford F-350 somthing about the short circuit on the solenoid. Dose that tool have the ability to troubleshoot it. I think it said power solenoid not sure I'll have to check that out but great job on the video look forward to the next one. DON.B
These scanner reviews always sound like Infomercials . . . all sunshine and white puffy clouds, and never much negative. Thankfully, commenters usually point out things a potential buyer should know. It ought to be required that the 1st pinned comment be the source of the item: was it a gift from the manufacturer, or did the reviewer pay for it.

I have the D8 and saw it supports Fuel Injector pulse width. However on my 2013 Silverado, I don’t see this in live data. Trying to trace a problem for P219A, possibly bad injector bank 1
I has a Old Toyota Camry 2001 2.2 Liter 4 Cyl .I had a P0300 P0301 P0302 P0303 only one Cyl is not misfiring. I change my Spark Plugs and new wires and coils .and I also change the Fuel Injectors and I used Lucas Fuel injector cleaner and it still misfire. I want to know your info See if my diagnostic is the same as mine ?
Good day I have the same scan tool am a mechanic I replaced a abs actuator on a Toyota aqua and used the scan tool to bleed it everything is bleed exept the stroke simulator on the actuator itself no fluid comes out when I try bleed there but the calibration went through no air in the system codes came off brakes working well just worried that the stroke simulator didn’t bleed

Tip: special functions is highly dependent on YOUR vehicle. Same with keys.

I use the Autel ts608 works amazing this scanner looks pretty sick
