I used my xtool on my wife’s BMW to reset the 7 year service interval. The dealership had checked everything, but even they didn’t have a computer capable of clearing and resetting the service interval. I think that what I paid and just being a home shop wrench spinner… the xtool rocks!
Do you know if the xtool will register your BMW battery? Had a hell of a time getting mine done last month. At the time i would have spent whatever it cost to know a scan tool would register out of the box with out having to get the bimmer link.
I have the xtool A30M. It's an entry level tool. Full bidirectional scan tool with free updates for life. Full system scans, every module. Yes some of the features don't work with every car but all your live data is available for diagnostics. For the price it can't be beaten. I just love it. When i have the money I'll buy there d9 pro model. Great tool company. Anyone have questions let me know.
@@mikeburdi3464 Yes sir. I know this. But i know certain functions and features where supposed to work on my car. I've see other scan tools do it. But at the time A30M couldn't. I email there support team a few months ago about all the issues i was having and with which vehicals. The when the latest update came a few days ago they fixed everything that wasn't working. Now everything works on my old odd ball civic model. Great customer support i must say. I'm so happy with them. There are very few companys left in this world that work this way.
@@aztucsonman77 The Xtool A30M has this feature. For under $200 this is the best scanner you can get with free updates for life. But of you have the money then I'd rather buy the Thinkcar 689 or the Thinkcar 689bt. Cost about $500 and has the new Can-FD and Doip protocols for newer GM and Bmw cars. Also has free updates for life.
Great video. I’ve heard good things about Xtool. Are you guys going to make the 2nd episode on A/C? I found the first one super interesting. I learned a lot from it.
woudnt the fiel voltage low be because its on a maintainer? The mainteiner is satifiying the voltgage regulator causing low to no field exitation. Great video .
What is the coverage on this tool? How far back will it go? I work on a lot of old cars. Will it do say an early 80s vehicle? Most scan tools don't. For the price what it does is impressive for sure.
I have the autel maxicom ultra lite and from what I'm seeing it'll do most of what I use the autel for. Just ordered this tool because the autel I can't get to read pin codes for programming keys on 2023+ gm. Can't even get the km100 to communicate with ecm on new GM's because it isn't compatible with can fd. I'm hoping this tool will be a good addition to my toolbox
The software on this scan tool, is also on the Topdon, and OTOFIX. I’ve been yelling at them to fix the range on the sensors, especially the O2. It’s difficult to monitor an oxygen sensor that swings 1 volt on a 5-10 volt scale. These scanners are not meant for data logging.
Bad thing about all scanners, computers and cell phones are outdated before you buy them. I really like to see you do 2017 up chrysler sgw security gateway were also need autoauth for fca sgw. Can you use your cell phone as a hotspot to connect to autoauth? I have a 2020 Pacifica van. Two things I hate is that at about 25 mph it locks all the doors. Also hate that stop start system. I had the dealer turn off locks but forgot about them turning off the stop start system. You should be able to turn simple stuff like that off, with a on off switch. I don't want to be in a accident with the doors lock and can't get out. With locking and unlocking the doors is really hard on the auto locks and if one on the sliding door go bad they can be a real pain to fix. As am sure you know. I would like to buy a scanner that you can email or call someone in the USA to talk to. Most scanners come from overseas were you get no support. Harbor freight scan tool t10 you can get support for that one in the USA. You need support for a scan tool as it is worthless if you can't get support for a scanner. Just my opinion.
My D8BT will not access the clearance assist ECU in special functions to adjust the front and rear clearance sensors. I replaced my front bumper on my 2024 Tundra and needed to recalibrate the sensors. You can not do this with the XTool D8BT.
I'd love to see scantool videos that can erase codes like p1745 and p0868 codes there's one bit it's a hard tool to aquire. It'd be nice to see if any other publicly available inexpensive scan tools could perform such tests to erase such codes without having to be a mechanic or forced to go to the stealership.
I am looking for a scan tool that will read camshaft retard on GM 3.6 vvt . Not having any success finding one that specifies this capability. Is this one capable, if not can you recommend one. Thanks
We don’t see any reason why that would be an issue with this tool. It has GM, Ford, and Ram capabilities. We haven’t used in at our second location where we do diesels so we can’t give you the full rundown at this time. Sorry!
You DESERVE AN EMMY AWARD! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR VIDEOS! God Bless!
I have the A30m from xtool with bi directional controls and updates for life. This is my starter scan tool I recommend

Usually when certain features don't work on certain vehicles it's not the tool, it's actually the vehicle software that doesn't support it.

What scan tool would you recommend for a 2010 Toyota Prius. I need to bleed the ABS system on it.

How do you get the reference range on the live data?
Will this do the ABS brake bleed on the hydraulic pump on a 2018 ram 3500
which is better? D7S or 819? i have a 2022 KIA

Pretty good bang for the buck!

Will this program TCM modules?
The IP819TP should be able to scan the sensors individually.
That’s one of the best scan tools you can buy for the money hands-down and they give you three years of free update that right there kills everything

I needed an affordable bidirectional scanner for myself. 71 retired lineman diyer. Choose this one. Not good for tpms stuff
Can you put a scope on it
what does power balance tell the technician?
It's a feature on ford's to see if a cylinder is low on compression.
Got a po302 on my 2006 Subaru sti. Wonder if this feature is on my Subaru
@@iam1smiley1 nope, firing or not firing. compression has to be done with a gauge.

It wouldn't be a ford if It didn't show that many fault codes!! 😁
