Well that Heavy Iron reused the music its not why they are lazy or something. Nickelodeon wanted to have a game for that special so they pushed them basicly that they gonna release it more or less with the TV Special. The game didnt even had this title at this point they were developing a 3rd Spongebob game (not truth or square) which was more like BfBB but than Nickelodeon forced them to do a "Tuth or Square" game. So the game was more or less rushed
This is true and the game would've had you play as patrick, sandy, mr. Krabs, and squidward. The game was originally called happiness squared.

It was such a weird game, I even recognized it as being super out there when I was really young. Its also not a great spongebob game, i have played each and every one from that era including all the nikctoons games and CFTKK was easily in my bottom 5.

Actually, Truth or Square didn’t start off as a game based on this special but rather meant to be its own thing. It started development way back as “SpongeBob : Happiness Squared” And was developed by Heavy Iron. Nick wanted this game rushed out for Truth or Squares release.

Sadly this was the only spongebob game I played and I loved it and I am excited for the remastered version of battle for bikini bottom

Wasn’t this game better at celebrating the show than the tv special this game was advertising? Here you relive past episodes. But in the special they get trapped and start reminiscing about their past. You know. Like when the show was black and white and was in the 50’s?
I think the story is set in Spongebob’s subconscious, but Plankton makes it seam as though he’s in real life.

They need to make a SpongeBob game like Super Mario Odyssey.

The reason the music isn’t remixed is because this is spongebob’s memory’s.
Don’t get me wrong but that box art is literal nightmare fuel and a dealbreaker setting all flaws in game aside.

This was the first game I played on the Wii, my first console. I loved it, probably more than now, and I looked at videos of bfbb at times and wanted to play it, due to the open world theme. However, I did like the combat in truth or square better though.
It does what the special failed to do.
Truth or Square the special was supposed to celebrate 10 years of spongebob, which it failed to do. This game succeeds at that.
This game's lead animation director previously worked on Big Idea Productions (VeggieTales, really). Maybe that's why the animation is so much fluid and expressive.

The game was originally called happiness squared but Nickelodeon told them to redo it and make it based on truth or square at the last minute

That game was my first game on my psp and i have very fun and nice memories from that game. Its nostalgic to me and i love it

Actually, this game was going to be AWESOME, also, the game 's original name was Happiness Squared, it was going to be (maybe) BFBB style. But Nickelodeon said to the creators to make the game look like the SpongeBob episode, so they erased A LOT of the game and it turned into this thing. (But I'm not going to insult this game, I still enjoy it, it's a good game anyways.)
This game is very special to me, I spent a big amount of time on it (Xbox360) . It was my first Spongebob game and my first game that I completed for 100%.

My only experience with this game is getting a used copy from GameStop, getting to the menu, can't figure out how to get past menu and into game, and returning it. Maybe it was broken, but I wish I played it.

FINALLY I FIND SOMEONE WHO'S TALKING ABOUT THIS GAME! This game is my childhood, and I have completely mastered and memorized it. 10:02 I like Robotic Revenge too, but not as much, and isn't t as much connected with my childhood.
And not to mention, each console had their own unique box art!!

I think the game is great. Plus it’s better than the special. I just kind of wish it was Happiness Squared though. A lot of scrapped content looked like it could have been the best spongebob game ever. I know purple lamp is remaking BFBB but hopefully someday Heavy Iron will be able to make a Spongebob game that could not only have been Happiness Squared but also quite possibly top Battle for Bikini bottom as the best spongebob game ever. But I guess only time will tell.

It's nice to know I'm not alone in having mixed feelings about Truth or Square for how stiff and linear it gets, but overall a net positive if only for feeling vaguely Heavy Iron-y enough and having at least one more new-ish Heavy Iron SpongeBob game to play when BFBB or Movie feel too dried up and worn out in terms of freshmess and novelty.
Could not disagree more about BfBB and tSSM losing their novelty. They still hold up very well to this day.

For me it feels like that heavy iron got a Strong overviewer by someone at nick and says everytime they Made something good "nope we want that so and so"

So this was my first spongebob game I played at least for the wii the first ever spongebob game I played was the ds port of truth or square but I absolutely loved the game and I still love it now despite it being fail it always has a special place in my heart

A cheat code to make the game black & white
I had this game on the Wii, PSP, and the Xbox 360. The psp version was very different... The level design, just the levels period were completely different compared to the Wii and Xbox versions. It had an exclusive Krusty Krab level, and there was also enemies not found in the other versions.
Which one was better?

If this game ever gets rereleased I REALLY hope that they include the 2 extra levels that were removed last minute due to it being rushed (in fact there's even unused dialogue in the game that was supposed to used in those levels).

I hate when people bash Truth or Square and always compare it to rhe previous Heavy Iron games. You didn't go comparing every little detail of Movie game and CFTKK, why do it with this?

Two things. 1. During the video you criticize it for reusing elements from the previous games yet when it came to the characters not only did you treat it as a massive knock against Truth or Square but you also complained about them not reusing Battle for Bikini Bottem's character switching mechanics. So why criticize one aspect for one thing and then criticize another aspect for doing the opposite. 2. Truth or Square didn't need a massive budget to be "Great" a primary example of this are indie games which are often really good even if they don't have a big budget.
The multiple characters were a good thing though.

Hey this was uploaded on my birthday
I only played the ds version its ok. Its a Beat em up and at the end of a level you get to fight a boss or play a mini game. It also has this one level = iconic moment from the TV show formula
I played both, and I will say that the DS is better. The DS levels have some original music and more interesting puzzles than console. Only thing I could really say that’s better in console is the hub world.
I think the stiffness is due to Spongebob's running animation not looking as smooth as the ones in BFBB and The Movie Game

This was my second favorite aside from bfbb. Even though it uses all the same music, it fits better with the levels/theme. Like the final boss being a slow paced giant boss with a slow theme. I honestly think it fits better than at the posiedome. Also the references it had made it super nostalgic

This game only happened to promote the tv special. It had to have been really hectic making it so close to the deadline. My guess is they had to cut corners because they were pressed for time. I'm not gonna fault them for following source material, since other Spongebob adaptations worked in the past by them. Never promote a tv special with a video game, unless you plan that shit waaaaaaaay in advance.
