    I've been a subscriber for about 6 months and enjoy all your content. Unbiased commentaries and diplomatic points of view. I'm a 100% N/A fan and have no plans for any power adder. If I wanted to supercharge my 2023 5.7 auto, I would have just bought a Hellcat and call it a day. But like yourself, I find it more satisfying building upon a proven platform, in our case the 5.7, to make power equal to or better than a mild upgraded Scat Pack. You proven, among others, that it is very doable. Some constructive criticism...There is a point to be made that even though racing the quarter mile against an adversary with lets say 20-30 more HP, it's still a driver's race. Forget about peak numbers on the dyno graph and study the curves. This will give an indication on when to shift and how to launch. By far @B. Mason, in my opinion, has the best, sobering advice on building a 5.7 to effectively compete. You proven that too.
    My Pitch Black 5.7 R/T auto is less than 4 months old with 1766 miles on it...Yeah I know....only 1766 miles....? I will be taking pretty much the same advice you have presented to get 'Noir' (French for Black) to mid 12's. However, I will attack my goal in a different order. From the back forward. Stock, the R/T Auto came with a 3.07 open differential. My new 3.90 LSD differential arrived last month and the big heavy box is sitting in my kitchen, which I stumble over it almost every night, is my first upgrade. I decided to go with the MBRP race 3" catback. Box arrived last week and I stumble over that too. It's like an obstacle course in my apartment. Both are to be installed myself with some help of my semi-blind friend. Hopefully by the end of this weekend. Upgraded tires will be next since the 245's can't really handle stock R/T when it comes to traction. BTW, I believe your manual R/T came from the factory with 3.90 gears.
    Keep up the good work as I know it does take a concerted effort to piece together these videos. They are not going unappreciated.

      Really appreciate the comment, glad you’re enjoying the channel. 🙏🏻
      You’re definitely right about what constitutes a close race. My man Bmason has an excellent channel. I’ve had a few videos posted where people were saying things like “you didn’t win that race, he beat you by a tenth of a second” even though I definitely won the race by a couple tenths, but his et was a little faster than mine. It’s the classic discussion of racing someone vs running a time. If I posted the video with no time slip there would be no one debating the outcome of the race. Launching high torque/high hp cars is hard, I think a lot of times people don’t take into account that the driver has a huge influence on the outcome of a race. Bottom line is you want your car to have enough power to be really fun on the street and to be competitive in the class you’re trying to race in, and the 5.7 N/A is very capable of both those things.
      Good luck with your install, those autos should’ve had LSDs from the factory, it should make a big difference.

      Thanks! I have a 3” magnaflow catback, part no 16886. It’s classified as “aggressive” for exterior noise levels which is their loudest offering. It’s definitely louder than stock, especially at WOT. To be honest I was a little apprehensive about it because I didn’t want my car to be insanely loud both for my neighbours and myself cruising at highway speeds. But it’s actually not bad, with rpm’s low I can keep the volume reasonable and with the 3” piping I got rid of some restriction I was seeing in my dyno that was holding me back. I go through Chris at player 3 performance tuning. He’s a great dude and really knows what he’s doing. Cool that you’re local, maybe see you around the track. 👊🏻

    • @TrackPackRT
      @TrackPackRT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True to a point. I mean if you retard the timing like crazy it will get much lopier, but also isn’t good for performance. If you tune it, especially on a dyno, for optimal power and performance the idles should be fairly similar.

    • @captainboose8788

      274 is a full race cam and will kill low and mid range, its meant for stroker motors

    • @TrackPackRT
      @TrackPackRT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 274 is too big of a cam for the 5.7. You'll see some people run them and talk about how awesome they are, but in all actuality you'll lose all the fun torquey power down low and really make your car a slug to drive in the city. I remembered seeing Comp Cams themselves on a cam comparison video reply to a comment saying the 274 was too big of a cam for the 5.7 and they didn't recommend it. The 270 lots of guys have including my man Modern Red Hemi. Back before Comp Cams came out with the HRT series as well as a couple other companies that put out their own offerings for the 5.7 there used to be not many choices for cams to install in your 5.7. The 270 was one of the more popular ones before these new ones were finally developed.

    • @TrackPackRT
      @TrackPackRT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be honest I probably wouldn’t at that mileage, but I would maybe do compression tests on your cylinders and make sure everything is good. If everything is 100% just clean up your heads, piston tops ect when you have the heads off. Essentially you’re rebuilding the top end of the motor with the cam install as you’re putting in new pushrods, lifters, valve seats, valve seals, keepers, valve springs and cam. If compression is good, meaning the bottom half of the motor is solid, you should be good to go.

    • @TrackPackRT
      @TrackPackRT  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I just had it dyno tuned once really. We were having a tough time tuning it with the phase limiter which is a 09-10 issue I guess, so I swapped out the limiter for a phase lock. My tuner then has access to tune it properly and it was 3 pulls on the dyno and good to go. I have a very good tuner though, he really knows what he’s doing. No guessing. With some of the stories I’ve heard from subscribers about tuners who can’t seem to nail a tune on a cammed Hemi it highlights the importance of finding someone who knows what they’re doing.

    • @mrhyde0705
      @mrhyde0705 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @gabedavis890 I can't find a dyno that can tune mine because on top of having a hemi, it's AWD, and the only dyno tuners here are for Subaru and other JDM. Tried the axle disconnect and car wouldnt leave 1st gear or go above 1200 rpm which is probably why the shop that did the work said 🤷‍♂️ as long as it starts and he leaves we got his money. 👋

    • @TrackPackRT
      @TrackPackRT  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The biggest thing is tuning is absolutely critical, which by this time you very well know. And surprisingly a lot of shops are really clueless on how to tune a hemi, and seem like they just kind of guess and end up messing the car up. I've had quite a few people reach out to me saying they couldn't get a tuner to get their car running right after a cam. Ironically I'd argue a supercharger is even more critical to nail the tune to keep your car running safely. If you're still having issues I'd suggest maybe giving my man Chis a call at player 3 performance tuning. He can remotely tune it, and although it's not the same as having it on a dyno I'm sure he can at least start getting you squared away. He uses calculations and math to dial his tunes in, he doesn't guess. AF ratio might be a tough one, he might require that but he might not. Worth reaching out anyways to see if he can help you out, I'll aways recommend him to people. He's a great dude.

    How is the idle for daily use? Is it shaky on idle inside?

    • @TrackPackRT
      @TrackPackRT  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not shaky and unruly at idle. It's kind of the best of both worlds. It has a nice, deep sounding idle that you can tell is cammed, but it also isn't so extreme that it can barely stay running at idle, or that it is a pain to drive easy around day to day traffic.
