A tip from Indian... Always add your garam masala at the end.... So u can have more flavour and the colour doesn't get dark and dull but bright and beautiful also... Your whole kitchen will smell when u put at the end.... Hope it's helpful

Hey sadia, just to give u a li’l trick for different flavour, cooking garlic onion n ginger at different point will make the dish to whole new level. First cook only garlic with cumin and when its li’l brown add onions when onions are golden brown then add shreaded ginger tomato puree together untill the oil starts seprating and mixture comes together or you can add puree cashews and tomatoes to make more rich flvour and finally add whatever the ingredients you wants to add. Try this one and hopefully u’ll feel the difference.

Perfect! I was thinking of making your Chana Dahl this week but i think your Aloo Matar just stole the spot! - Side note ive been Vegan 5 months now and your 'no judgement' approach played a big part in that. My relationship with food is sooo much healthier. Im honoring my hunger and I have never felt so good about food! I started losing weight and as a result im more mindfull about exercising. Because im doing these other things for my health im finally quitting smoking!!!!! The ripple effect has been strong in my life lately and feel I owe you a huge debt of gratitude. ❤ Thank you for doing what you do. Thank you for being who you are. Thank you. Thank you. I’m pregnant and suffering from the quite common symptom of food aversion, which basically means that all the food I usually love (I’m a real foodie!) makes me feel nauseous just thinking about it. It’s actually really hard, being hungry but feeling like most foods are absolutely inedible. I feel so bad for all the lifelong picky eaters out there, it’s terrible. This is the cost of the first recipe:
Firm tofu $5.00, lemon grass $3:00, coconut cream $2.00, spinach $3.00, basil $3:00, brown rice noodles $2:70, yellow capsicum/ bell pepper $2.90, lime $0.80, snow peas $3:50.

Substitude suggestions for first recipe: 1. there are jars with dried lemongrass. 2. sub tofu with chickpeas or make chickpea dumplings or tempeh. 3. dried Basil instead of fresh if you can't find fresh. 4. frozen spinach. Super cheap and often frozen just after harvesting.
So that's what I did and let me tell you, yum!

Really nice video and recipes, so calming:) And then its important to remember that the $2 is achievable because you invest initially (or can do bit by bit as well) in the bases in quantities so that it can be used in so many dishes and end up very cheap with amazing dishes. Worth it and then plant based lifestyle can be very affordable and nutritious, especially cooking at home!

Whole spice a the very beginning, powdered spices in oil w/ the veg or gravy, herbs at the very end (especially fresh herbs)

Hey Sadia I am from India . I just love ur videos . You know that how much Indians love curry. So I come from Indian-bengali community . Here we sometimes eat jackfruit curry ( raw) not ripe because we consider ripe jackfruit as fruit and raw as vegetable . So with raw Jackfruit and with garam masla u can make curry I surely don't know the exact recipe but you can search it on online. It exactly taste like indian thick chicken or mutton curry( cause in India we eat at thicker version of meat curry) but completely vegan. Hope you will find my writings helpful . Love you ❤️

Sadia could you add a bit of spice to this recipe? If so what would you recommend...
    Thank you...
I'm going to try the Aloo Matar Potato and pea curry next. It looks sooo yummy

I'm an Indian, and I always get confused when people call anything Indian a "curry". I haven't called a single thing in my life curry unless I was talking to an American. I think they're talking about sabzi? Or daal? It just frustrates me that no one thinks to learn the correct terms for these foods. Everything looks delicious though!

"Curry" does not mean autentic Indian food. It means what Western people think that Indian origin style of cooking is like. It is not very specific definition, but it is only used for food cooked in Western countries. Nothing to do with India any longer.

I would love to see an episode of a list of links of the best/favorite kitchen tools.
Also hand pies that are meal pockets (not desserts) that can be frozen and warmed up for an easy lunch. Hand pies, pierogies, dumplings, or ravioli. Little pockets that can be frozen and saved for a rainy day.
Maybe a Vlog on how many recipes can be made with one head of cabbage, how many recipes with one large cauliflower, how many recipes with a big pumpkin, and multiple recipes for things that we are pulling out of the garden and end up in the compost pile for lack of creativity.
Maybe a vegan outdoor Habachi meal, and more creative outdoor camping type cuisine. Like a soup or vegetable stew cooked over a fire pit. Late Summer and Fall we are Camping more and enjoying friends outdoors around the fire. It is very trendy to have outdoor kitchens now equipt with pizza ovens, etc because people dont want to go to back and forth from indoors to outdoors. Recipes for us that do not have fancy outdoor kitchens but a fire pit with friends and everyone that wants to cook and stay outdoors before Winter is here again.

@@lizzy1124 That is ur perspective...There is an Indian saying -'Apni tarif khud nai karte'. There is a reason behind such old saying. U ask me to be respectful but u don't realize that Indians damage their own respect by commenting this way. I am an Indian myself nd I don't like seeing my countrymen behave in a childish manner on social media.
