I feel that way sometimes too, no doubt. Sometimes I’ll look to other accounts and feel like something I’m doing/creating isn’t enough. It’s a normal thing to compare. But keep in mind, what you see on TH-cam is made to look and feel pretty because of how it’s edited, and how the music plays overtop the clips. We want to tell a little story through the food we share, and make it look enticing so people feel welcomed to give it a try, but it doesn’t mean this is how our food looks or how we eat all the time. In fact, we’re on our way to pick up some takeout in a few minutes because I was too busy getting this upload ready to make anything and we just couldn’t be bothered. You’re doing great, Wife in the City. We’re happy you’re here with us 🌻

Just made the green pasta for dinner-super yummy! Great with a sprinkling of Follow Your Heart Parmesan on top, too. :) Some notes for people who are wanting to make this dish: -Using fresh spinach instead of frozen which works great (I chopped it up a lil bit then pressed into measuring cup to get similar amount.. and then some more because I love spinach!) -If you want to use fresh herbs instead of dried, use 1 1/2 -3 times more than the dried amount -Coconut milk worked great! Didn’t give much of a coconut taste at all. So really, don’t worry about the cream if you don’t have it! -I didn’t have any lemon so I used a very ripe lime instead. Again, it was great! Super interesting flavor that my family loved. @@blueorchid9455 I wouldn't recommend the green parts as garnish as they tend to be rather chewy when left raw. I just... never saw a recipe that didn't include the green parts. Hi Sadia! I wanted to drop in a quick comment to let you know how positively you have shaped my life! Your videos are like therapy to put one in a happy mood! I was a die hard carnivore and now I am transitioning into Vegan-ism; and you are the reason! You never mock non vegans and keep your channel "for all" and that's the beauty of it. Your trick of "could do" not "should do" is clearly working. Keep doing what you are doing! Happy vibes your way!
I have integrated your nourishing oatmeal into my breakfast routine, made homemade hummus/tahini, and cook one of your dinners each week. I have been practicing intentional eating, and find myself not needing to eat lunch, since it has gotten hotter. It feels good to be able to tell what my body needs. It really feels like you are looking out for my health and taste buds, so any dish of yours I make is a gift for my body + spirit. The pizza and paella seem a bit outside of my current comfort zone in terms of complexity, but that pasta looks just perfect for next week. Excited to try it. =) Thank you, Sadia.
The green part of the leek IS IN NO WAY TOO FIBROUS TO EAT!! I am shook! You can totally use the whole thing (minus the roots). Other than that great recipe ideas! I'd love to see higher protein meals if you make this a series :)
You can eat even the roots, however the green part it's not nutricious bc in the stomach it becomes celulose wich is very hard for the body to process, specially if ingested raw
@@valentinodemilch8935 Better to eat it than waste it though, surely? Is there another way you can prepare it that would be easier on the digestive system? Edit: just pressed play again and she immediately said you can use it for stock, haha.
@@morwennaforatenner604 It makes for an amazing creamy soup (and many more recipes) that even my non-veggie friends love...I just wash and chop up one entire leek (white and green part, just removing the root), fry it up on some oil, add diced potatoes (2-3 medium sized), cooked it in some veggie stock with a crushed 1-2 garlic cloves until soft, puree, season to taste with salt and pepper and add some (vegan) cooking cream, delicious with some toasted bread :) Or just fry up the chopped green parts with some eggs to make it a scramble... It's full of iron and flavour, such a shame to be wasted
I love your budget friendly meal series. As a young family living on one income it is my job to keep track of our finances and do most of the cooking and shopping. So I am always on the lookout for tasty recipes, that are special yet affordable. Your channel helps immensely. Thank you so much:)
I love that you name alternatives to some ingredients! Sometimes I don't wanna buy something just for one recipe so it's great that you already say what works instead :)
Talented and beautiful with the most calming voice and the heartiest smile in the world ❤️ I can't tell you how much you inspire me Sadia!! You spread so much positivity and happiness, Love you and your unique recipes so so much, keep the content and smiles coming💜❤️ (Wish I'd found you sooner😭😭💜❤️)
I love these budget friendly videos, proving you don't need a ton of money to eat healthy. Love your voice and the pace you choose to speak at in your videos, it's just perfect. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian yet I find myself trying (and loving!) your recipes so often. Please keep on posting content like this
I like this budget friendly series! A vegan or vegetarian diet is always portrayed as a pricey affair with nuts, avocados and many things that not everyone has access to. This series is beautiful.
Here's a little tip! Rolling your pizza dough will kick out all the gas and result in a tough dough! Rather than rolling, use your fingertips and gently stretch the dough. The dough will naturally stretch really well and this will result in a chewy, crispy and soft pizza dough! :)
won't that result in a fluffy on the inside but crispy in the outside Focaccia? I associate risen dough to American pizza, and personally I prefer Italian pizza (because I grew up in Europe and the concept of American pizza is just very non-nostalgic)
@@julecaesara482 No, not really! Focaccia dough is so much more thick and it's made so there's actually some volume to the bread. You could easily change the thickness of your pizza bases or just maybe use lesser leavening (yeast). Oh yes, I do love Italian Pizza doughs and I might be a thin crust pizza person myself too! :)
@alisha yasmina excellent point! She did use self raising flour though, essentially all kinds of leavening agents follow the same priciples but in different proportions. Use less leavening and a thinner piece of dough to get a crusty thin crust base just like what Sadia does in the video! :)
@Serena Alexa Emmi hey there! I totally get your emotions about pizza but trust me life is too short to make judgements about something as gorgeous as a pizza. To each their own, and seriously as long as you like what you eat, it really shouldn't matter. Sadia's recipes are all vegan and she doesn't use cheese. If you ask me that sauce looks goddamn delicious and I would even consider using it sometime. Essentially, a pizza is too broad of a definition and maybe altering your recipes to your liking is the way to go! :)
One of the cheap meals I like making is lentils with potatoes and sweet potatoes. I use a vegetable bouillon with the water and give it some salt and spices and it is delicious. You can also add broccoli as well and that will make it go further.
I think green or brown lentils would work best for texture reasons. Red lentils fall apart and get pasty when they cook (why they're good for soups and curries), and black lentils stay too firm (better for lentil salads).
I love the green leak and pea pasta. I was skeptical before making it (broccoli isn't my favorite), but it turned out so delicious. And I love how healthy and easy it is. Now it's in my regular recipe rotation. 🤤
Ha ha I’m the same! I will click “like” maybe 10 seconds into a PUL video because I’m scared I’ll forget to afterwards, especially if I’m distracted by the delicious recipes and by binging other videos. With some channels you might wait until you actually watch the video before you decide if you like it, but with this one I think who am I kidding, this is Sadia (and the PUL team) and everything she does is amazing so it deserves that like even before I see it! 😘🤷🏼♀️
My goodness Sadiaaa!! Thess recipes are just fabulous and affordable too. I'm definitely gonna try these asap and thanks for sharing such wonderful recipes with us. We are learning so muchh from you! Loved it ❤ Great job 👍
I tried the green pasta today and although I was hesitant at first it turned out sooo good and was super easy to make!! Definitely don't leave out the mint, it really gives it a kick. Thanks so much! I will definitely make this more often :)
I love that u include the measurements as u speak during your presentation that way we can easily follow along instead of having to search for measurements in your written recipe. Thabk u for keeping it so easy to follow
Love this!! So timely. Going to try a plant based July - I'm West African and grew up on meat so the idea terrifies me but this video made me so excited
I can’t see myself eating just plant-based foods for lifetime😅. But I keep coming back to your channel it’s because I love how you make videos Sadia, I feel relaxed and happy every time I hear your voice. I love your tea time videos as well. I watch it almost everyday. I am hoping you can do more tea time tuesday videos🙌🏻❤️❤️❤️💋 I love you Sadia
It's not as heard as you think. I thought I was going to miss meat horribly but I didn't. It's actually been easier with teleworking since I no longer have the burden of my friends always trying to get me to eat meat. Before the pandemic I was plant-based and pretty lenient with it. I still lost 45 pounds over a year. COVID-19 made me become fully vegan. I finally realized how much eating meat not only negatively affected by my body, but the planet, and even the human population as a whole. Now I've told my friends I'm vegan and they didn't groan about it as much as I thought they would. lol. They might be used to the idea of me not eating meat by now. If you need any recipes, let us know! I'm sure we all have delicious recipes we'd love to share. Just let us know what type of foods you like. :) EDIT: I also have a list of fast food places that have vegan options. For example, Subway, or taco bell. Common places people might go.
Haha thanks for noticing, Alexandra! I've really been trying the last few months, and now I look back at the older videos on the channel and cringe - looks sketchy and like I could hurt myself :P But still some learning left to do!
Hi Sadia, I'm spaniard and I just want to share a little trick for colouring the paella, since saffron as you said is really expensive I learned that you could get the same colouring with turmeric powder and as a plus it gives a great taste too. And obviously is cheaper than saffron. This recipes where just amazing, can't wait to try the pizza!! Thank you for your energy and love in every video.
Everytime i think about ordering fast food i watch one of your videos and all the stuff looks so good and healthy the craving just goes away! It's been helping so much!! 💗💗
I was a huge fan of watching the Food Network to learn how to cook. I also had the benefit of one of my friends teaching me as well. Worst Cooks in America might be a good one to get some basics since they are REALLY bad and the first couple seasons are hilarious.
I'd love this to be a series! It would also be great to have a grocery list/budget/servings option. I'd love to see these recipes organized into a weekly meal plan.
I loooove your channel!!! Seriously I really appreciate all the camera angles that seems like a ton of work. Also the recipes you make are varied and seem to have ingredients that are easy to find. Thank you!
Hey girl!! Love this. I’d love if instead of ‘per serving’ cost you just did normal prices of the meals - just as someone who is on a budget, it’s good to know how much in total xx
i'm not vegan but it is such a silly conception that eating vegan is more expensive. This video definitely proves otherwise. People think healthy fruits and veggies are pricey but the hail in comparison to the cost of meat, fish, cheese, etc.
AnqaOdyssey tofu, black beans, tempeh, spiralina, whole oats, quinoa say hi. It’s not hard to get enough protein. Search up high protein vegan meals- it’s literally as simple to get enough protein - it’s not even the most important macro biologically anyways. The only thing that may take more is if ur building muscle you’ll need a protein powder to make ur life easier - which no vegans use anyways when they feel like they want/need to. ~ a non vegan
Hallo, I have been watching you since almost past 2 years not knowing the fact that we both were living in Eindhoven. My husband is also doing PhD in TU Eindhoven almost wrapping up now. I moved to Germany 3 months back and accidentally I stepped into one of your old Q&A today realising you too were living in the same city.. Hope I can meet you sometime when I come to Eindhoven. Your videos have been really a motivation for me to meal prep and eat healthy. ❣️❣️❣️
That first green pasta looked amazing! Can’t wait to make it. I feel like it would be a good use for when I have lots of random amounts of frozen veggies or produce that needs to be used up. Minimal waste friendly and inexpensive. Thank you! Love your videos.
Always love seeing more budget friendly healthy meals. I always cook/recommend healthier options as a kitchen whiz and I get asked most about what’s the cheapest! There IS A WAY to do it! 💕💕
Couple of weeks ago, I watched your video on bullet journal and immediately patterned mine to yours. You made it so much simpler for me which helps to become consistent in this practice. I've been watching more of your videos to grasp for positivity and motivation. It makes every sense to add Sadia - Pick Up Limes in my gratitude list. :) I'm grateful for your channel and you!! Please keep doing what you do.
Hi. You know, I've been looking for good recipes and healthy eating tips for a long time. I need this not only to lose the extra weight I gained from stress, but also because of my stomach disease. I accidentally came across your video and I can say that it is really amazing. Due to the fact that I live in Russia, I can not get all the ingredients of your recipes. But I'm resourceful, so I try to replace them with something similar. Nevertheless, I am delighted with your dishes. These dishes are delicious and unusual (especially for my normal diet). You are very cheerful and smiling and I like to see that. This gives motivation to eat properly too. Unfortunately, I still study English, which sometimes makes it difficult to understand some of the videos, but as they say, "the dictionary helps me". Keep it up! You're wonderful! And thank you for sharing your knowledge with us
I´ve always been eating the green part of the leek, i never had any issues (of course, I always cooked them in some form or another). It seems like a waste to not use them? They are still tasty
I was thinking the same! It works really well in soups and stews where is gets a tiny bit more cooking time. But chopped small it can even be eaten raw.
Same, the green part is perfectly good to eat! For people with IBS (like me) only the green part is OK to eat... So if I eat leek, I just eat the green part so my belly does not get upset..
I just made the creamy green pasta. 🥰 I have made so many of your recipes. My husband and I have your book. We simply love all of your recipes! Non have ever been tasteless. Thank you so much for making vegan food taste so good and we are thankful for incorporating more veggies back into our diet. Many blessings and may you continue to help so many with healthy food choices. 😊
Yay, finally serving sizes for adults! As a student I really love these cheap and fairly easy recipes, and I would love to see more in the future! You just got yourself a new sub :)
I am always amazed that you can make vegan food look so scrumptious, and they taste just as delicious. Please give us another studio tour as it is now.
We came from vacation and had nothing in the freezer, just pasta and frozen veggie. I noticed all of the frozen veggies we had were green so we did this pasta! It turned out amazing, the lemon and the herbs really elevate it, and in terms of nutrition is great, it has so many vegetables and good things❤️❤️
I am so surprised to see you not using the green part of the leek. I usually cook/fry it for a minute or so longer than the white part, but it is perfectly edible and really delicious. Maybe try it again? Thanks for the video!
I absolutely love these recipes. Especially the fact they are affordable and oh so elegant!! Please continue with the series..i made these recipes and all I can say is mmm mmm so good!
GothicaBeauty. And super healthy! most of the beta-carotene sits in the green part - so highly recommended to eat it because of flavour annnd health benefits☺️
I love that you used the whole broccoli! We've started cutting up broccoli differently when we snack on it. Instead of cutting off the bottom and feeding it to the chickens, we simply cut it so that it makes long broccoli. Great for dipping. :) Thx for your beautiful videos!!
I can't stop watching these videos, it's late, I had a hard workout, haven't eaten much today and I'm looking at this like______________ give me the food. So good!! Just watching the process is satisfying.
Hey Sadia- it’s noticeably adorable how you intentionally are trying to keep ur fingers tucked in n knuckles out while chopping- kinda feels as though it would appear similar when ppl like me would try to chop like professionals on tv. Good recipe ideas!
Great recipe ideas! I so appriciate your filming and editing, it makes your channel very special. Often people say, eating vegan food is expensive, you show in this video (series) that it's not. Thank you for that! Huge love from south Germany
So many in our millennial age bracket get caught up in this, thinking that healthy food is expensive. I live in NYC, and I know there's places you can get a slice of acvocado toast for $14-15. You can make that same dish for a fraction of that at home. Thank you for taking this a step further here!
not really sure what this "healthy" thing is supposed to mean. i mean my grandma has been living in the countryside for 85 of which 77 she has been working the fields, went trough a 2 years famine which reduced her family of 14 to 3, ate literal garbage, she never heard of this "healthy" food yet is still working the fields and the only health problem is a bit high sugar blood.
I live in the middle of the south, the nearest major grocery spot is 30 minutes away. Glad you don’t live in a food desert and are out of touch with what millennials actually eat, it’s doubtful it’s $15 on avocado toast and the fact you think that’s healthy sustaining food is crazy, this video is great stop finding weird ways to shame people.
I'd need to add a more substantial protein than peas to feel satisfied with these. I'd love more inexpensive bean and lentil recipes, though, so I think the series is great.
@@taylorg7630 That does sound like a great option! Unfortunately I live in the middle of no where and my high protein pasta options are very limited at the local grocery store, so it makes it easier to use more conventional plant protein sources.
This might be the first video you uploaded where I'm beyond excited to try all of the recipes you showed, exactly what I need right now. Thank you so much, your content is wonderful ❤️
Warning about cutting jalapeños: some people like me get “jalapeño burn”, so wear gloves or avoid touching the veins of the jalapeño to not suffer from burning hands. I would just sub jalapeños for green bell peppers.
If you have ‘spicy resin’ on your hands, try rubbing your hands with veg oil vigorously before washing them. The spicy resin is fat soluble rather than water soluble so that’s why it doesn’t wash off easily with just water ;)
Also warning don't to forget you cut jalapeños so you don't forget to watch your hands before you touch other parts of your body LMAO oh my wish High School told me that almost was blind for a day after cooking class cuz I rubbed my cut DURING cutting them and we swelled and burned haaaa
I just experienced this for the first time recently, and it was extreeeemely unpleasant. I had used jalapenos a couple times before in my recipes before without any issues, but this time my hands were still on fire the _next day_
I have become a huge fan of all your videos that eventually leads to living a simple and healthier lifestyle. Would definitely love a series on this. I love your approach to life in general. I have tried some of your recipes and my family is in love with it. I also found your tips on minimalism extremely useful. Thank you and continue to inspire us.

it's less than 0.25 $ in Ecuador lol
How can brokkoli be so expensive? That is insane!!
It's super expensive in sweden
This is really cheap broccoli. I first thought it was the price per serving. In Germany the price is mostly between 2,50 to 4 € (non organic).
It's very expensive in india too..its not a vegetable ..that's why
I think what she meant is that is is too fibrous in order to be pureed afterwards
I don’t know what fibrous means. Please help. I tried to google it but no luck
@@morwennaforatenner604 It makes for an amazing creamy soup (and many more recipes) that even my non-veggie friends love...I just wash and chop up one entire leek (white and green part, just removing the root), fry it up on some oil, add diced potatoes (2-3 medium sized), cooked it in some veggie stock with a crushed 1-2 garlic cloves until soft, puree, season to taste with salt and pepper and add some (vegan) cooking cream, delicious with some toasted bread :)
Or just fry up the chopped green parts with some eggs to make it a scramble...
It's full of iron and flavour, such a shame to be wasted
I love the new font you’re using when labeling the ingredients as you’re cooking ! It’s very clean, minimal, and visually appealing!
Within days of getting into your videos I've become so much more productive, positive, eating a lot healthier and loving myself a lot better! You spread so much positivity and happiness, Love you and your unique recipes so so much, keep the content and smiles coming💜❤️
(Wish I'd found you sooner😭😭💜❤️)
I love these budget friendly videos, proving you don't need a ton of money to eat healthy. Love your voice and the pace you choose to speak at in your videos, it's just perfect. I'm not a vegan or vegetarian yet I find myself trying (and loving!) your recipes so often. Please keep on posting content like this
I like this budget friendly series! A vegan or vegetarian diet is always portrayed as a pricey affair with nuts, avocados and many things that not everyone has access to. This series is beautiful.
I don't get how anyone can dislike your videos. They're so calming and beautiful!
I don't understand how anyone could "dislike" these videos. Her food always looks so AMAZING!!!
I love that there are few “specialty” ingredients in your recipes, like specific flours or sugars, and that you often share substitutes.
@alisha yasmina she used self rising flour
Such a timely video since many are struggling financially right now
One of the cheap meals I like making is lentils with potatoes and sweet potatoes. I use a vegetable bouillon with the water and give it some salt and spices and it is delicious. You can also add broccoli as well and that will make it go further.
@@suicune2001 does it matter what types of lentils and potatoes are used? I'm thinking about trying this!
I think green or brown lentils would work best for texture reasons. Red lentils fall apart and get pasty when they cook (why they're good for soups and curries), and black lentils stay too firm (better for lentil salads).
@@kaitlin9288 My store only carries brown lentils so I use that and it comes out great.
I don't know why whenever I feel low I just watch your random videos. It is just like a therapy which calms me down.
I love the green leak and pea pasta. I was skeptical before making it (broccoli isn't my favorite), but it turned out so delicious. And I love how healthy and easy it is. Now it's in my regular recipe rotation. 🤤
Didnt watch the video as yet, but gave it a like coz i know your videos are always superb.. Love you so much Sadia❤
@@kiral7790 Ya so true. Sadia always puts in so much effort to make her videos flawless.
My goodness Sadiaaa!! Thess recipes are just fabulous and affordable too. I'm definitely gonna try these asap and thanks for sharing such wonderful recipes with us. We are learning so muchh from you! Loved it ❤ Great job 👍
We need a series !! 🤍💋🥰
I love the idea of a budget-friendly recipe series. Everything looked delicious!
I've never tasted a paella this good, I still can't believe I made it myself, I'd love to have more affordable recepies like these
i’m not an expert but i think the green part of the leek is fine to eat and also really good in soup
Agree, here in Japan, we eat the green part all the time 😁👍🏻
Agree. Very wasteful to not use it!
Leek and potato soup! 👌
@@maaikevandijk-bokkers944 she didn't say to throw it away!
@@mariagil6645 yes! Porrusalda! :)
The green part of the leek is perfectly eadible, really good in things like preischotel (Dutch)
The green part of the leek can be used for cooking and green salads
Love this!!
Hey, try going vegan! It is really easy, not hard at all! I started last November and I feel so much better!
@@katyi Vegan for 2 months now and my body didn't felt like this since my teenage years.
EDIT: I also have a list of fast food places that have vegan options. For example, Subway, or taco bell. Common places people might go.
Katrin Müller-Haag. thanks. I’ll try☺️
Don't forget to try Indian recepies!
Your knife skills are A+ now
Haha thanks for noticing, Alexandra!
Oh wow! Never thought of making pizza with hummus. Brilliant idea! Will need to try these recipes. Thank you!
GREAT series to begin, since I'm learning how to cook.
I was a huge fan of watching the Food Network to learn how to cook. I also had the benefit of one of my friends teaching me as well. Worst Cooks in America might be a good one to get some basics since they are REALLY bad and the first couple seasons are hilarious.
@@suicune2001 THANK YOU for the great info! I'll look into it.
Your video is Just like an oasis in this lockdown desert...😘
These lack a direct source of protein (say 15g/100g, even chickpeas have 6g/100) making them cheaper.
@@AnqaOdyssey Just eat seitan or TVP
Animals products are subsidised by the US government so sometimes it’s way more expensive to buy a lot of fruits and veggies
instead of supplementing your protein and other nutrients with vitamins maybe you could just, oh i don't know, eat....fish?
AnqaOdyssey tofu, black beans, tempeh, spiralina, whole oats, quinoa say hi. It’s not hard to get enough protein. Search up high protein vegan meals- it’s literally as simple to get enough protein - it’s not even the most important macro biologically anyways. The only thing that may take more is if ur building muscle you’ll need a protein powder to make ur life easier - which no vegans use anyways when they feel like they want/need to.

I'd love to watch something about positivity or self-encouragement. A Tea Time Tuesday session perhaps.😇😇😇
I'd love it too!! Good idea!!😍
Yeah, I like the occasional motivational, goal planning, and organizational videos too. Maybe something that is up to date.
Please keep making these *affordable* yet healthy recipes! :)
Whoever is reading❤
Have an amazing time ahead❤
And you too! 🥰
i love how this entire comment section is so positive
Is this going to be the next video that I’ll watch seven hundred times while cooking until the next pickuplimes video gets uploaded? Perhaps
And thank you for sharing your knowledge with us
Your English is very good.
My thoughts exactly. People, use the green part of the leek as well! :)
Same I’ve always had it? But I guess in soup it’s a different situation, the boiling softens it enough to eat? I don’t know
Same, the green part is perfectly good to eat! For people with IBS (like me) only the green part is OK to eat... So if I eat leek, I just eat the green part so my belly does not get upset..
I eat that raw and for me it's the best part of the leek. :D
You’re videos never dissapoint! Great video❤️👌
Yes please. I would love to see a series of budget friendly recipes. You do make them look so yummy.
Whaat nooo! You can totally eat the green top of the leek!! It’s delicious! Please don’t throw it away, it’s very healthy too 😊
I might never get to making them, but I had so much fun watching. Loved it.
I tried the BBQ pizza and my whole family loved it! Even my six years old brother! Thanks for the recipe, definetly making it again! :)
i love this! people often say being plantbased is a matter of money but you show awesome options on a budget!
Yay, finally serving sizes for adults! As a student I really love these cheap and fairly easy recipes, and I would love to see more in the future! You just got yourself a new sub :)
Oh my god, you used Saffron!!! As a Persian I am so so so proud. We grow Saffron in our garden and we use it in everything!
Can you please tell me how to grow saffron? 😭
Adore watching you, the aesthetic is so good, vibes are calm and the food looks delicious❤️
I am always amazed that you can make vegan food look so scrumptious, and they taste just as delicious. Please give us another studio tour as it is now.
I went from finding a quarantine haircut on your channel to falling in love with the rest. Your work is beautiful art in every way and so inspiring!
Waiting for so long to see you, lots of love from India Sadia ❤️
Your voice is incredibly soothing 🤭🙆🏽♀️. Love your recipes btw. All the way from South Africa .
I am so surprised to see you not using the green part of the leek. I usually cook/fry it for a minute or so longer than the white part, but it is perfectly edible and really delicious. Maybe try it again? Thanks for the video!
Yes please do more of these! My husband and I love the meals and so does our 18month old baby girl.
I absolutely love these recipes. Especially the fact they are affordable and oh so elegant!! Please continue with the series..i made these recipes and all I can say is mmm mmm so good!
What I learnt from this video: YOU CAN EAT THE STALK OF A BROCCOLI!!
And the green parts of leek actually
Of course you can. It's wonderful in a stir fry.
its the best part! sweet and crunchy..
Chop the stalk smaller than the head or put it to cook about 5 minutes before, the stalk takes slightly longer to cook.
It is soooooo goood ! Actually it is my favourite part of the broccoli 😂 I eat it raw !
Ooooo eat the dark green leaves of leeks they’re so tasty when cooked.
GothicaBeauty. And super healthy! most of the beta-carotene sits in the green part - so highly recommended to eat it because of flavour annnd health benefits☺️

Zurlich ya wot?
becky08701 we never waste the green parts when we used them & i love a good leek & potato soup.
Yes!! I can make them tomorrow!! So excited, thank u for inspiring us❤️
I love that you used the whole broccoli! We've started cutting up broccoli differently when we snack on it. Instead of cutting off the bottom and feeding it to the chickens, we simply cut it so that it makes long broccoli. Great for dipping. :) Thx for your beautiful videos!!
I can't stop watching these videos, it's late, I had a hard workout, haven't eaten much today and I'm looking at this like______________
give me the food. So good!! Just watching the process is satisfying.
I really want to eat all of those dishes, they all look incredibly tasty
You don‘t eat the green part of the leek? I always cook it just like the white part and it is delicious!
I don't understand that I never came up with that myself haha... to cook the pasta and broccoli together! Good idea, thanks!
Glad you don’t live in a food desert and are out of touch with what millennials actually eat, it’s doubtful it’s $15 on avocado toast and the fact you think that’s healthy sustaining food is crazy, this video is great stop finding weird ways to shame people.
thank you genius. eating food out costs more who would have thought
I'd need to add a more substantial protein than peas to feel satisfied with these. I'd love more inexpensive bean and lentil recipes, though, so I think the series is great.
Making a side with chickpeas, roast spiced chickpeas maybe could be a good idea?
You could use chickpea or lentil pasta to boost the protein
I used banza pasta and it worked great with the recipe and added plenty of protein. For reference, I’m a 20 year old female bodybuilder
@@taylorg7630 That does sound like a great option! Unfortunately I live in the middle of no where and my high protein pasta options are very limited at the local grocery store, so it makes it easier to use more conventional plant protein sources.
Hey Sadia
I am missing teatime Tuesday please make some of it I really enjoy find it helpful
Yes! I would love an updated version of those videos even.
Oh the Paella was so good! Thank you!! In true uni style I used garlic granules, mixed herbs, chilli flakes and tinned tomatoes. Still tastes amazing!
This might be the first video you uploaded where I'm beyond excited to try all of the recipes you showed, exactly what I need right now. Thank you so much, your content is wonderful ❤️

And you lied about that
Warning about cutting jalapeños: some people like me get “jalapeño burn”, so wear gloves or avoid touching the veins of the jalapeño to not suffer from burning hands. I would just sub jalapeños for green bell peppers.
I wonder if jalapenos from a jar would work too.
If you have ‘spicy resin’ on your hands, try rubbing your hands with veg oil vigorously before washing them. The spicy resin is fat soluble rather than water soluble so that’s why it doesn’t wash off easily with just water ;)
Ok Karen lol
Also warning don't to forget you cut jalapeños so you don't forget to watch your hands before you touch other parts of your body LMAO oh my wish High School told me that almost was blind for a day after cooking class cuz I rubbed my cut DURING cutting them and we swelled and burned haaaa
I just experienced this for the first time recently, and it was extreeeemely unpleasant. I had used jalapenos a couple times before in my recipes before without any issues, but this time my hands were still on fire the _next day_
You can just eat the green part of the leek (do rinse it well), it barely needs longer than the stem-like part. It really wilts in the pan!
Woah! on a budget I expected something like spiced beans with rice.. But your recipes have just blown my mind! Thank you for this video!
Still one of my favorite meals. I am finally making enough money to eat what I want, and very often what I want is simple beans and rice.
