Love your videos.❤ As a post-menopausal woman who has struggled with low energy (to the point of hypothyroidism) and insomnia (from trying a high protein, lower carb diet) I recommed researching "other" signs of hunger. I've only seen Stacy Sims (Next Level) address this. There are those of us who have turned off our hunger signals after decades of trying to "do it all." The signs of hunger become subtle, such as low-energy availability (LEA), a woozy or dizzy feeling, or trouble staying asleep. It's just a thought on reaching a wider audience. Again, I love your approach to WFPB living!! I feel so much better and have more energy eating this way!!
I joined this weight loss program offered through our insurance program at work and one of the key element is that you're supposed to wait until you get to a Level 2 hunger to eat, and when I tried to follow their instructions I discovered that all my hunger pangs would go away pretty quickly and never develop into a stronger hunger signal but I would start feeling really thirsty and just keep drinking and still feeling thirsty. It was weird. Whenever I've heard people saying that a lot of people confuse thirst for hunger, they're telling people they should try drinking but for me, it turned out to be the opposite. If I don't eat at that point, then I start getting a headache or feeling nauseous, sometimes lightheaded. Nowhere on their list of Level 2 Hunger signs was insatiable thirst. I also like Stacy Sims and bought one of her books. She mentions our thirst mechanisms breaking down as we get into peri and post menopause and I've found that to be true for me. So I forget to drink much in the morning and then start getting thirsty when I'm really hungry, whether I've made an intentional effort to hydrate or not. Middle-age womanhood is so weird.
@tinabean713 I have to take Levothyroxine first thing in the morning. I find having a glass of water beside the bed to drink first thing in the morning is helpful for hydration. Yes, being an older woman is challenging!!
What measurements did you use to get to 40g of protein in the first bowl? I was trying to duplicate the recipe as I am trying to eat higher protein. When added sesame seeds in Cronometer, in order to get 2g of protein that showed 5 tsp, that seems like a lot. Do you mind sharing how much you used?

Today I’d say the southwest bowl. But they’re both totally in our rotation. Also, that skirt! 😍😍😍
I love me some Mexican food! Thanks for the kind words about the skirt! Perfect for summer!

Thank you so much!!
Yes! I hate the protein powder on everything trend. Also, you are right to be worried about the tape measure. My niece had to have stitches from one.
Thanks for sharing! 😊

Do you recommend fats at each meal?
EMMIE YES YES!
Yessssss🥰🥰
I’m allergic to soy & see it in many recipes for the starch program.
Is it still OK to only eat starch and vegetable or do we have to now worry about having Fooods with protein?
That really depends on what your goals are. If you want to gain muscle, you need more protein
