    A little hard to follow with the zooming, but this video finally got me set up. I’ve reflashed and reset and reconfigured my pi repeater at least 20 times, then to finally find this video and got it to work!!

    ola Hristo thanks for answering my questions, your answer was very enlightening in general I use my router as repeater and I seek the best performance in this mode of operation, I have upgrade plans on a more robust router wr940n for openwrt firmware, I intend to configure it in relay mode and test its performance, if successful, I will inform ok tankyou Mr.

      I'm not generally a fan of this setup, but sometimes that's the solution!

    Thank you, how can I relay using a dual-band router in OpenWRY? I'd like to connect to the primary router using the 2.4ghz interface with subnet A, and share the internet on 5Ghz interface and different subnet to separate the local networks, and both have the internet. Thank you.

    • @hristopopov4724
      @hristopopov4724  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Add new lan and put the 5Ghz radio on him ! Set ip address and dhcp server. Finally snat the new lan with relayed bride ip address or wlan station ip address.

    This was very helpful, and just what I was looking for! I'm using it with a Ubiquiti AirRouter... and OpenWrt Barrier Breaker 14.07 / LuCI Trunk (0.12+svn-r10530). Everything seems to work (I can connect via my one LAN port, or via the DHCP-assigned IP on the AirRouter (from my main router)... but I can't get DHCP on my LAN ports... Can you think of what might be wrong with my configuration if that's the case? I haven't tried connecting to the AirRouter via WiFi yet...

      Hi Dave, I can not know if you properly configured the router, but you need to split the router's ethernet ports into 2 vlans and then put each, the first one to the local bridge for the local access and the second vlan to the second bridge /with relayd/ for the extended network .

    • @DaveLaneNZ
      @DaveLaneNZ 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your response Hristo - yes, I did that, or at least I think I did! I'm wondering if I've got a hardware/relayd compatibility issue perhaps?

    thanks a lot Hristo you rock man!. i followed every step. but the only difference is that i have a 5ghz antenna too, so at the end i scaned and become client of that 5g too. i think i did ok.
    so i have a question just to make sure: you say at the end that you can plugg devices throuhg ethernet port 1 2 3 and conect to internet. ok.
    then you say that if you want to access router wirelessly you could with ip 172.16.222.212? is this right?
    and that conecting a device with ethernet in port 4 only will give us acceso to router and not to internet?
    is that so?

    • @hristopopov4724
      @hristopopov4724  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes .... wirelessly connected to the main AP .More than one wireless connection in relayed bridge can make a network loop !?

    Hi Hristo, Thanks for sharing. I am running FriendlyElec NanoPi-R1S-H5 with OpenWrt R20.3.5 / LuCI Master (git-20.062.50551-a6189c5) and the kernel version is 4.14.111. The problem is that after the luci-proto-relay is installed, I cannot find the relayd protocol when I want to create the last bridg-relay interface. Could you help me with this since it bothers me for 3 days. Thanks.

I went into the wireless tab after completing all the steps in the video , added a new access point, linked it to wwan but when I go about connecting a wireless device it gets stuck at "obtaining ip" , (DHCP configuration thing?).
