While setting up the access point, in the video you selected only Lan, but in the tutorial you asked to select both Lan and wwan. Which approach is correct?
see in the tutorial ( no interface attached) means wwan is blank so if you select LAN and wwan only LAN will consider because wwan is blank for AP. so dont confuse just choose only LAN while adding Access point

In other videos and tutorials, they ask to install relayd and luci-proto-relay packages (openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/relay_configuration), but I don't see that in your tutorials. Are they needed? I'm confused between repeater and repeater-bridge. It would be good if you explain the difference. Thanks again.

My main router (connected to the ISP's broadband modem) is one of the latest Linksys routers (EA8100 AC2600 dual band) and it has the original OEM firmware. The other router is a 5-6 year old TP-Link WR842ND v1, which I'm trying to configure as a range extender (repeater) on the 2.4 GHz band so that I can get better coverage in areas of my house where the signal is poor. I've got OpenWRT firmware on my TP-Link router. I believe your tutorial is about range extending (repeater) that I'm looking for. Correct me if I'm wrong.
After following your tutorial, I can connect to the wireless network of the TP-Link router, and I can see the TP-Link router connected to my main Linksys router, but for some reason, I'm not able to get the internet working when connected to the TP-Link router either wirelessly or wired. I'm going to reset it to default OpenWRT settings and try again tonight.
For lynksys router make sure there no setting which not allow to connected third part router to this. second things tplink also gives option for universal repeter why dont try that one

That means your repeater device not connected to host wifi network. make sure wifi password is correct or try change security type in main router

Nice, but when i add the 2nd wifi, and i make a search for wifi connection on my phone i only find : BRCM_TEST_SSID
and it wont connect :/ what is this ?

Please make sure you are using 1-11 Channel because mobile and Laptop only support 1-11 channel..which router you are using for openwrt share model no.
the ADB P.DG A4001N, and i'm on channel 6,
I have the same problem with OpenWrt 14.07 and 15.02
May be Your Router Doesn't support OpenWrt firmware you can discuss with Router Brand Support ..
Try With DD-WRT Firmware if you found supported Firmware in DDWRT
