The Pro Pro 3.5mm Mic Adapter from GoPro allows you to record high-quality clean audio from an external source with your GoPro. It's compatible with the HERO8 Black, HERO7 Black, HERO6 Black, HERO5 Black, and HERO5 Session.
A 3.5mm analog stereo input can accept mic or line-level signals, and is compatible with powered and unpowered microphones. So whether you want to plug in a shotgun or lavalier mic for interviews, or take a signal directly from a music venue's mixing console, this adapter will come in handy. The internal A/D (analog to digital) conversion has 106 dB of headroom, ensuring a clean audio recording. While the adapter takes up the camera's USB port, a pass-through USB port is available on the adapter, so you can still charge your camera with the adapter plugged in.

Thanks mate, awsom fix, I was really pissed with the hero 5 handiling audio. not water proof now, but never mind,
Awesome video thank you
can you dissemble it and solder an external mic , i wonder if that works like gopro 4 used to
thank you so much, I think you save my sound)) I go to try fix.
good stuff. thanks. If you have time, do a review of your Porsche SUV, problems things you don't like and so on. Also, would like learn more about GM using Honda V6 engines in Saturn.
I'm on the home stretch of the Tacundra build. Its all I can think about right now. LOL
@@WHIPBASH, sounds good. Post more tacundra stuff.
That haircut is frickin‚ awesome. Great video tnx.
Sounds great
It does! I've been using it like for the past week now and its so nice!
Hey I Dont understand.. Did you put the microphone and the audio works correctly or doesnt work.. I hace the same problem and I Dont know if buy a micro
the audio works much better after the modification
always supporting whipbash and camzone drop a like fellers
Thanks broski!
Thanks....
O shit what setting in mic did you have Gopro as stereo mics might try different options
The worst setting you can have is the automatic wind/stereo. It switches back and forth and its impossible to use the audio for any production.
Goos
not gonna get go pro, but i need to buy some dash cams for driving, any recommends ?
I don't have much experience experience with tiny cams, only the Hero 6. Check reviews and make sure you get something that records good audio too.
sony good option
I still can't believe Go Pro messed up the 5 and up purely for people who might want to dip in the water.... my lord. Great fix man, I'll try this. The rustling from slight holding is just....I went on holiday and ALL of my footage was ruined!
I feel your pain. I was super disappointed with the audio!
@@WHIPBASH Such a shame isn't it. They focus on the 10% of people who actually take them all in the water and produce those silly mic covers! Mind you, DJI do the same and their audio on the Action 2 is truly something else.
What editing software you using and are you adding or adjusting color with it? Great cheap fix bud.
I am using Magix Movie Studio Platinum. I've been using this platform for almost 20 years. It was called Video Factory 2.0 back then. I definitely recommend it. Although they may have ditched the "movie Studio" name now. If so, just look for a consumer version of Vegas Video. Same thing.
Oh, and no. I rarely ever adjust color.
@@WHIPBASH Thanks for that, I'm playing around with resolve at the moment and it's million and six buttons. lol
I only got my gopro last week and following what someone else told me to do. Keep the gopro color flat and adjust correction in software to get away from the gopro color look. Keeping options open while i find what works for me. Thanks again bud for the reply.
Yea a very carefully held Dremel with a ball mill would be more safe bet , held very careful and steady. dont want to damage the mic inside - youd be screwed.
It ’s a samurai-like character from the Kurosawa movie. 黒沢映画に出てくる侍のようなキャラクターだ。
Lmao, try a Dremel set next time.
GoPro Mike adapter says it is guaranteed forever, should be able to RMA it for a new one
Ooooo Good advise. Thank you!
Sounds much better to me.
Absolutely! Especially when you're holding the Gopro. It doesn't pick up all the friction from your fingers now. I love it!
want better audio take it out of the factory cage that covers the mics
Yeah for sure. But I drilled the cage too... In this video. 5:26
Use an safty pin not an drill
How would a safety pin do what the drill did?
Is it still waterproof ?
if you drill into a gopro.......... i think the answer is clear.
are you for real?
@@Aleksandar402 LOL
OK Serious answer - NOT Waterproof anymore. For my work, I need audio - not waterproofing. Maybe the GoPro wasn't the best choice for me. But I'm a simple kind of man and GoPro is the mainstream brand.
Rich kid probleme Drilling that go pro lol
yeah and its no longer water proof
Duh. I stressed that in the video.
ye... but now its not waterproof. lol
That's the sacrifice I made to have better audio. I don't use it for water sports.
thats fucking ridiculous
